Cuna de Campeones Moto 5 Series

MotorLand Aragon

Alcaniz, Spain

July 24-25

J. Pino Competición rider Mikey Lou Sanchez, an 11-year-old American, continued his Cuna de Campeones Moto 5 Championship campaign July 24-25 at MotorLand Aragon, in Alcaniz, Spain.

The young Texan qualified 6th in the field of 24 riders.

In Race One, Mikey got off to a good start and was able to battle for the lead immediately. He led the sixth lap, but on the seventh and final lap Mikey made contact with another rider and lost a couple seconds. He was able to recover and finish strong in third place, his best result of the season.

Race Two was cancelled following the fatal accident involving Hugo Millan.

“I have two race weekends left and I’m going to get on that top step of the podium!” said Sanchez. “I’m going to train hard and make it happen!”

Sanchez Racing would like to thank its sponsors for helping Mikey Lou chase his dream: Studio Three 49, Fred & Maggie Beck/Harris Hill Flat Trackers Association, Shawn Knoche, Williams Custom Painting, Corsa Werks, Fondu, Arai Americas, Texas Motorcycle Academy, Moto Liberty, Day One Welding, Paul Stamper, Reid McTaggart, and AGV SPORT America.
