Strong Season Opener in Barcelona: Rossi Attila Moor Scores 9 Points Across Two Races
The 2026 FIM MotoJunior World Championship kicked off its Moto2 season this weekend in Barcelona. After qualifying with a setup that ultimately proved sub optimal, Rossi Attila Moor secured 15th on the grid. For Sunday’s race day, however, the team’s engineers decided to try a new direction in order to improve the bike’s performance.
In Race 1, the revised setup immediately showed promise. Rossi’s pace improved noticeably, and he crossed the finish line in 13th place, earning 3 championship points.
Race 2 got underway at 3 p.m., with track temperatures soaring above 50°C (122°F). The team made further refinements to the bike, focusing especially on front tire wear, which had caused difficulties in the first race.

Rossi launched well and steadily climbed through the field. He originally took the checkered flag in 11th place, but after French rider Gimbert ran off track on the final lap, the Hungarian American rider was promoted to 10th, adding another 6 points to his tally.
Across the two races, Rossi improved his overall pace by a remarkable 8 seconds—an average of half a second per lap—demonstrating that the team has found the right baseline for the bike. The goal moving forward is to continue building on this foundation, improving race by race, and closing in on the front group.
With the points earned in Barcelona, Rossi currently sits 11th in the championship standings.

Rossi Attila Moor:
“In the first race we struggled a bit with the setup, especially because the front tire wore out a lot toward the end. Before the second race, we sat down with the team and agreed to take a bit of a risk with a different setup, which allowed me to ride at a much better pace and make cleaner passes. Now we know our starting point, and we’ll keep improving from here race by race. I want to thank the engineers and the whole team for their hard work and support.”
The FIM MotoJunior Moto2 field will be back in action on June 14 in Estoril, Portugal.
