American Kensei Matsudaira on Podium in Jerez at Final Moto5 Spanish Championship Race
On Sunday, 11-year old Japanese-American Kensei Matsudaira scored another podium in the final round of the Cuna de Campeones Moto5 championship held October 1-2 at Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto in Andalusia, Spain.
Kensei traveled to Spain directly from the final MotoAmerica round at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama and despite struggling with allergy-related illness and getting limited time to ride during free practice, was able to qualify 3rd on Saturday morning.
The first race of the weekend on Saturday afternoon saw Kensei quickly lose touch with the top 3 riders on the opening laps and drop to P6 at one point during the race, but Kensei make a charge in the second half of the race to make a pass in the final corner for 3rd position. Ultimately Kensei was just barely beaten to the finish line by 0.03 seconds, and he took 4th in the race.
In race two on Sunday, Kensei made a great start and immediately latched onto the top 2 riders and fought for the lead. The riders in the top group swapped positions throughout the race, with Kensei taking the lead several times and setting the fastest lap of the category for the weekend, with a laptime of 2:05.9. Kensei finally crossed the finish line in 3rd, just 0.2 seconds adrift of the race winner.
“After missing out on the podium at the last round in Valencia because of bike issues, I really wanted to come here and prove that I can fight for the top again,” Kensei said after the races. “But I got really sick after traveling and I knew I had to get better fast because even in perfect conditions, it’s always a challenge fighting with these guys. Saturday was a big struggle, I didn’t even know if I would be able to run the race distance but I was almost able to get on the podium which was my goal. On Sunday I felt better and I pushed hard from the start and was able to fight for the top again. I’m sad because I didn’t win, but I’m also happy because I was right there. In the end I’m really happy to be able to finish the season with a podium and being right there fighting for wins.”
The race concluded the highly competitive 7-round Cuna de Campeones Moto5 championship, with Kensei finishing 5th in the championship despite missing one round due to a schedule conflict with MotoAmerica, where just last week Kensei was crowned champion in the 2022 Mini Cup by Motul 190cc Ohvale GP-2 category.
Kensei would like to thank all of his sponsors for their support to help him race both at home and abroad: American Racing Team & Academy, Fresh N Lean, Evike.com, Shoei Helmets, Dave Designs, AGV Sport, VNM Sport, D.I.D Chain, Galfer USA, Yoshimura R&D, Suspension Matters, TechSpec, The Starting Grid, Moto Tecnica, Mad Labs Minimoto, 73 Moto Parts, Bickle Racing, Vortex Racing, Landers Racing, Boyko Racing, Apex Racing Center, Live 100 Moto, DRT Racing, Karen E. JERSEY BOYS TO INVADE BSB – RODIO RACING HEADS TO THE UK TO COMPETE IN BRITISH SUPERBIKES FINAL ROUND AT BRANDS HATCH GP OCTOBER 14-16
While the MotoAmerica season ended at Barber on September 25th, the racing continues for New Jersey natives and Rodio Racing teammates Anthony Mazziotto and Gus Rodio with wildcard entries for the British Superbikes final round at Brands Hatch GP the weekend of October 14-16.
In a departure from his normal Twins class, Mazziotto will be campaigning an Affinity Sports Academy Kawasaki ZX6 in the Pirelli Junior Superstock Class, while Rodio will find familiar ground riding a Kawasaki Ninja 400 in the HEL British Junior Supersport class with SymCirrus Motorsport. Joining the teammates is another infamous New Jersey native, Brandon Paasch, who will mentor both riders using his experience from racing in BSB and winning the 2019 HEL Performance British Motostar Moto3 championship.
“I haven’t been overseas since 2015/2016, when Brandon and I kicked some butt in Assen and Silverstone in the KTM 300 series. I’m really looking forward to the full BSB experience, having a bit more power with the Kawasaki, and going head-to-head with some new competitors. I’m excited to be racing with Affinity and Leon Haslam and thankful for the opportunity,” Mazziotto said.
Antony Mazziotto (516). Photo by Brian J. Nelson, courtesy Rodio Racing.
“This is going to be a great experience – I’m really excited to get my first chance to race overseas with British Superbikes. Having Brandon come out with us is pretty cool because he knows the track and his insight will be valuable. There’s going to be a lot to take in – a new track, new paddock, and even though it’s the same bike, the Pirelli rubber will be different, too. I’ve only been able to watch videos of the track so far,” Rodio quipped, “but I’m ready, and racing is racing, so I’ll give the SymCirrus team everything I’ve got.”
The team is working with current Rodio Racing partner luxeStar VIP on this wildcard opportunity. Company owner Scott Rehl has worked with racers both in MotoAmerica and British Superbikes, most notably with Brandon Paasch during his championship winning season in BSB.
“I’m excited to once again bring US racers overseas and see how we stack up against the competition,” said Rehl. “Ever since I helped Brandon race in BSB, it’s been my goal to get more US racers into international series to compete against the best racers beyond MotoAmerica. After tying in points for the MotoAmerica championship in both the Twins Cup and Junior Cup series, I am confident that Anthony and Gus will do well at Brands Hatch GP.” Paasch will tag along as part of the crew and serve as rider coach.
Also helping pave the way for the Rodio Racing teammates is long-time friend and sponsor, Geoscape Solar owner Lee Watson.
“It is very cool,” said Watson, who was born in England and is a former racer. “Motorcycle racing has always been my passion since I was a kid, and I wanted to give back to the next generation. We are a local company, and Mazziotto and Rodio are local guys, so this is a great way to help out the young talent in New Jersey.”

More, from a press release issued by the Daytona Beach Area Visitors & Convention Bureau:
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – (Oct. 5, 2022) – Businesses that traditionally host guests are looking forward to the 30th Annual Biketoberfest® motorcycle rally scheduled for Oct. 13-16. Clean-up following the recent storm is well underway with many campgrounds, accommodations, restaurants, and event facilities preparing to host aspects of the four-day event schedule. With power and Internet restoration underway and water levels receding in many key venues, many local businesses are already up and running, with more coming online daily.
Changing Day by Day: “Our community has been greatly impacted by the storm, some areas more than others,” said Lori Campbell-Baker, Executive Director for the Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Area (CVB). “We are encouraged by the daily progress made by our local citizens and municipalities in the recovery. The destination has been working around the clock.”
Many local businesses are already up and running, with more coming online daily. The City of Daytona Beach’s Biketoberfest® Master Plan is fully activated, and most events scheduled for Biketoberfest® will take place as scheduled.
While the status of individual properties is changing rapidly as power and Internet are restored and clean-up continues, venues such as world-famous Main Street, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach and Daytona International Speedway will be moving forward with planned events. Biketoberfest® visitors are asked to respectfully avoid areas that might not be fully recovered and to ride with extra care during their stay.
Where to Stay: Visitors with lodging reservations are encouraged to contact their property directly to confirm their reservation status. Many of the properties that area currently unable to host guests are proactively reaching out to fellow industry partners in order to accommodate event visitors. Visitors who haven’t yet secured a reservation are asked to visit Biketoberfest.org and DaytonaBeach.com for lodging information and event updates.
Positive Economic Impacts: Many local businesses and employees rely on the economic impact that is generated from Biketoberfest® and other tourism-related activities, explains Campbell Baker. “According to data from Mid-Florida Marketing & Research, visitors to Volusia County spent $5.5 billion in our local (non-accommodations) businesses last year alone. Our tourism industry generated more than 52,000 jobs and pumped $700 million worth of payroll into our residents’ households.”
“Despite the challenges from the recent storm, we are prepared and ready to host visitors during Biketoberfest®,” said Patrick Sullivan, General Manager of Rose Villa Southern Table & Bar in Ormond Beach. “All special events, including this year’s Biketoberfest®, are critical to the success of local businesses. The visitors from events like Biketoberfest® allow businesses such as our restaurant to be open year-round for the residents.”
Charitable Component: In addition, Charlene Greer and the team from Jeep Beach Inc., another highly-popular local event, are already hard at work supporting the community post-storm. “We’re donating food, clothing and other assistance to local residents and we’ll be organizing more activities to tap into our ever-generous Biketoberfest® visitors,” says Greer. “A full 100% of donations received will go directly to help our community, and we’re even paying any credit card processing fees, to ensure that donations are even more impactful.” For more information or to donate, visit the Hurricane Ian link on JeepBeach.com. “Members of the bike community are kindred spirits to the Jeep community, and we look forward to welcoming them back.”

American Mikey Lou Sanchez on the podium at CIV in Jerez.
American Mikey Lou Sanchez raced in the CIV Talent Spanish series at the Circuito de Jerez on October 1st. He raced a Corse Factory Moto4 bike.
Sanchez was racing with the front group every lap, trading positions during the race until Turn 13. The top four riders went in together, and Sanchez came out in second and held that position to the finish line.
“He already knows the track, so we came here to get ready for the upcoming ESBK race in two weeks and found some good battling, bumping, and drafting for Mikey to learn from,” said Michael Sanchez, Mikey Lou Sanchez’s father.
Bumping and bar banging was exactly what Sanchez found in Race Two. He ran at the front again. This time on the last lap in Turn 13, four riders entered mixed with a backmarker, and Sanchez was a little too hard on the gas. He spun the rear on his Moto4 racebike and got bucked up out of the seat. This killed his drive and ended up fourth at the finish.
“At first, I didn’t think I learned anything from that race. I just got P4. But really, I learned that if I get bumped, keep pushing, and if I have to, bump back,” said Sanchez.
Sanchez’s outing will be the ESBK Moto4 event October 14-15 at Jerez.
The races at that event will be streamed live on the RFME YouTube channel.
Sanchez Racing would like to thank everyone who supports Mikey Lou Sanchez: Shawn Knoche, Roadway Traffic Control, Williams Custom Painting, Fondu, San Marcos Iron Doors, Texas Motorcycle Academy, Harris Hill Flattrackers, Moto Liberty, Paul Stamper, and Mark Niemi.
Loretta Lynn, Famed Country Music Star and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer, Dies at 90
PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Loretta Lynn was a legendary country singer and songwriter who became a symbol of rural resilience with her powerful voice and inspiring life story. She influenced scores of musicians as one of the most beloved performers of her generation, and also influenced thousands of motocross athletes, hosting the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn Ranch since 1982. Lynn passed away on October 4. She was 90.
The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame offers its heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of Lynn and celebrates her contribution to motocross and the motorcycling community. She was a role model to many in both the music and motorcycling worlds.
“There’s no doubt Loretta Lynn was a towering figure in both music and motocross,” said AMA Editorial Director Mitch Boehm. “We, as an organization, can’t put into words the importance and impact she had on our sport and how she inspired generations of riders.”
Lynn was born on April 14, 1932, in Butcher Hollow, Ky. She carved out her story in the rugged Kentucky coal country, and her autobiography, A Coal Miner’s Daughter, was adapted into an Oscar-winning movie. Finding her stride in the music industry to the tune of four Grammy Awards and 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, Lynn has sold more than 45 million records worldwide. Writing more than 160 songs, Lynn tallied 24 No. 1 singles and 11 No. 1 albums on the country charts. She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988.
Since 1982, Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., has welcomed approximately 60,000 riders. Hosting an average of 36 classes vying for AMA National No. 1 plates each year, the annual event is the site of the largest amateur motocross event in the world.
Displaying her country hospitality, Lynn frequently attended the event each year, and made herself available to those who visited.
With the continued support of Loretta and the Lynn family, motorcyclists have been making the pilgrimage to the ranch for four decades, making it a staple of the amateur motocross season. Unfortunately, in 2021, the ranch was devastated by flooding, suffering more than $1 million in property damage, and killing one. The ranch has since been rehabilitated with significant support from the motocross community.
Although the young riders that visit her ranch each year did not grow up during the peak of her singing career, Loretta Lynn’s name and voice resonate with everyone who visits.
With her song “Coal Miner’s Daughter” ringing out through the ranch’s PA system at 7 a.m. every day, Lynn has contributed to the growth of motocross by hosting the weeklong event where amateur motocross athletes aim to launch their professional careers and claim a spot on the podium. Since the race’s inception, nearly every AMA Pro Supercross and Motocross champion — including Hall of Famers Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael — has navigated the ranch’s track.
The ranch also hosts AMA Grand National Cross-Country events along with the annual amateur motocross competitions.
Lynn was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2021.

American Motocross Community Mourns the Passing of Loretta Lynn (1932-2022)
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (October 5, 2022) — The American motocross community is in mourning following the passing of one the sport’s most influential figures, country music icon Loretta Lynn (1932-2022). The namesake of the world’s single-largest motocross event, the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship which is more commonly and affectionately known as “Loretta Lynn’s,” passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 90 on Tuesday morning at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
One of country music’s most prolific figures, the legendary “Coal Miner’s Daughter” was also a giant within the motocross racing community, welcoming thousands of amateur racers, their families, friends, and the industry as a whole to Loretta Lynn Ranch each and every August. For the past 41 years, the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship has served as the proving ground for aspiring motocross talent, with a who’s who list of racers who have made the journey to Middle Tennessee for motocross’ version of summer vacation over the past four decades in search of success. Countless stars have been born at the ranch over the years and Loretta herself has remained a cornerstone figure of the event, which has become an integral part of the family business, spanning multiple generations. In recognition of her contribution to the sport, Lynn was inducted into AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2021.

“Ever since 1982 Loretta Lynn and her family have opened their arms and their ranch to countless motocross families,” said Rita Coombs, matriarch of MX Sports. “Her name may be synonymous with country music, but she was also incredibly popular with generations of motocrossers who have visited her ranch in Hurricane Mills to compete in the annual AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships. She was always a gracious host and she will be sorely missed by our entire sport.”
The legacy of this prestigious event is a byproduct of happenstance, when MX Sports patriarch Dave Coombs Sr. took his family on a road trip in the summer of 1981 to camp at the ranch. A morning jog by Coombs around the property proved to be a moment of inspiration and realization, one that forever changed the course of American motocross and served as the foundation for the country star’s ascension into becoming the standard bearer for the sport. “Big Dave’s” charisma led to a fateful meeting with Mooney Lynn and Loretta herself and he sold them on the idea. One year later, in 1982, the inaugural AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship descended on Hurricane Mills. The rest, as they say, is history, and without Loretta Lynn, the sport of motocross in the United States wouldn’t be what it is today.

Godspeed, Loretta. You’ll be missed, but the racing will live on in your memory.

· NEW Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC)
Kawasaki is no stranger to the pursuit of performance, excitement, and all-out fun, and nothing embodies this philosophy more than the new 2023 Ninja® 650 motorcycle. It’s one of the most well-balanced motorcycles Kawasaki has produced, blending fun and easy handling with optimal engine and chassis performance, and the legendary sleek Kawasaki Ninja® styling.
For 2023, the Ninja 650 receives Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC), Kawasaki’s advanced traction control system that provides both enhanced sport riding performance and the peace of mind under certain conditions to negotiate low-traction surfaces with confidence. The system looks at a number of parameters to get an accurate real-time picture and allows riders to select between two modes to suit their riding situation and preference. Mode 1 is the least intrusive, helping to manage traction during cornering and designed with sport riding in mind. This mode facilitates acceleration out of corners by maximizing forward drive from the rear wheel. In Mode 2, intervention occurs earlier, meaning when excessive wheel spin is detected the engine output is reduced to allow grip to be regained. This helps riders navigate wet pavement or bad stretches of road. Additionally, riders may elect to turn the system off.
The Ninja 650 features the tried and true 649cc parallel-twin engine that is perfect for a daily commute or an afternoon out on some tight, winding, back roads. Its lightweight chassis delivers smooth and agile handling that is both sporty and versatile. The sharp styling found on the Ninja 650 gives it a sporty appearance that is sure to catch the attention of new and seasoned riders alike. Its 4.3” all-digital TFT color instrumentation provides a premium feel and offers full color for great visibility. Twin LED headlights feature low and high beam as well as a position lamp. Utilizing its Smartphone Connectivity through RIDEOLOGY THE APP*, a number of functions can be accessed, logged, and reviewed contributing to an enhanced motorcycling experience.
For 2023, the Ninja 650 is available in Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray / Ebony or Pearl Robotic White / Metallic Matte Flat Raw Graystone / Ebony, with an MSRP of $7,999. Davis Dominates AHRMA Vintage Cup Series at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway
(Elora, Tennessee) Back-to-back wins put Jesse Davis closer to the championship points lead in the 2022 American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) Vintage Cup.
His two victories were during rounds 21 and 22 of the Bridgestone Tires AHRMA National Historic Cup Roadracing Series at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway, Munford, Alabama, October 1 and 2.
The 2022 Vintage Cup, sponsored by RoadracingWorld.com, features the Vintage Superbike Heavyweight class. Davis, from Long Beach, California, won both rounds on his 1982 Yamaha XV920R.
On Saturday, Davis got the holeshot and held the lead until the checkered flag. Kevin Rammer, on his 1982 Honda CB650SC from Newnan, Georgia, took second, with Andre Hauer of Houston, Texas riding his 1981 Kawasaki GPZ550, rounding out the podium. Barry Hasenkopf, on a 1982 Kawasaki KZ1000, from Lawrenceville, Georgia was fourth, with Warren Wilson riding his 1982 Kawasaki GPZ750, hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana fifth.
In a repeat of Saturday’s performance, Davis once again took the lead from the start which he held until the checkered flag. Rammer took second, and Wilson completed the podium, coming in third.
Current series leader, Jeremy Maddrill of Steger, Illinois, was at the event; however, he didn’t ride this class. Look for him to take to the track next weekend as AHRMA’s season draws to a close at the 17th Barber Vintage Festival. Maddrill leads by just over 1,000 points and with Davis pushing hard, it’s Maddrill’s championship to lose.
The AHRMA Vintage Superbike Heavyweight class is for motorcycles produced through 1982 with unlimited displacement for twin-cylinder motors and three-cylinder motors with “pushrod” valves. Four-cylinder machines are limited to either 931 or 1,025 cc’s depending on the model. For 2022, the class is sponsored by the International CBX Owners Association.
Vintage Superbike Heavyweight recreates and preserves the look and feel of this important era of road racing and to showcases these unique machines. Superbikes of that era were based street-legal models available for sale at any motorcycle dealership. Most lacked the streamlined bodywork, low, clip-on style handlebars and rear-set foot pegs of purpose-built Gran Prix motorcycles. Instead, riders sat almost upright on the machines. Wider handlebars gave the racer the leverage needed to wrestle the large bikes around a racing circuit.

Triple Power Revolution
Incredible performance and character come naturally to the Speed Triple 1200 RR’s 1160cc triple engine – the same lightweight, efficient and high performing engine that also powers the RS model.
Developed for maximum power, torque and response, the powertrain delivers an impressive 178 HP peak power at 10,750rpm, and 92 ft lb peak torque at 9,000rpm. And, characteristic of all Triumph triples, the torque curve is smooth and strong from low down, right through the mid-range and all the way up to peak revs, for incredible punch and acceleration. The low-inertia engine delivers outstanding responsiveness and a beautifully refined and precise feel.
The stacked 6-speed gearbox is compact and light weight, with optimized ratio progression to precisely match the power curve, guaranteeing super slick gear changes. The lightweight slip and assist clutch uses ramps in the clutch to force it together when under load, adding to the force of the clutch springs and allowing more power to be transmitted from the engine to the gearbox. The opposite is also true when downshifting aggressively, where a controlled amount of clutch slip is allowed to maximize rear wheel control.
The side-mounted, brushed stainless-steel single silencer with black end cap delivers the Speed Triple’s signature hair-raising and visceral sound for a sporty and engaged riding experience.
Focused and exhilarating
The riding experience delivers all of Triumph’s trademark agile, precise and confidence inspiring handling, amplified by the RR’s focused rider ergonomics, with clip-on handlebars and sporty foot peg position.
The performance edge to the RR is further enhanced by the premium specification of equipment that comes as standard. Fundamental to this is the new Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 electronically adjustable, semi-active front and rear suspension, which is the most advanced suspension system available from Öhlins.
The RR also comes fitted with Pirelli’s high-performance Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tires delivering incredible response, stability and grip on both racetrack and road.
The Speed Triple 1200 RR also benefits from lightweight twin Brembo Stylema monobloc front calipers and lightweight 320mm floating front discs, providing precise braking performance. The bike also features the Brembo Stylema linked braking system with adjustable Brembo MCS lever.
Premium specification and technology
The Speed Triple 1200 RR Bond Edition carries the full suite of state-of-the-art rider aids, electronics and convenience features designed to not only make the ride easier and safer, but also to deliver a tailored set-up for different riding scenarios.
Key to its premium specification is the full-color 5” TFT instruments, with the My Triumph connectivity system fitted as standard. Android and iOS compatible. this enables phone call and music operation, as well as turn-by-turn navigation, developed in partnership with Google. All are accessed and managed via the backlit switch cubes and conveniently displayed on the optically bonded TFT screen.
The RR is also equipped as standard with Triumph’s most-advanced optimized cornering ABS and switchable optimized cornering traction control systems. These use an inertial measurement unit to measure roll, pitch, yaw and acceleration rates, in order to calculate the lean angle and precisely control the ABS and traction control response to match, optimizing slip rates and torque control to suit the specific riding mode chosen.
Linked to the traction control system is the advanced front wheel lift detection system, which uses advanced algorithms for precise control.
The RR also features five riding modes – Road, Rain, Sport, Rider-configurable, and a Track mode, for the perfect set-up at all times.
Another key feature for use on the road and on track is the Triumph Shift Assist up and down quickshifter. It features an advanced sensor that gives the engine control unit a wealth of information, allowing both up and down gear shifts to be fully mapped against a several parameters.
Lighting is LED throughout for maximum durability and efficiency. There’s a daytime running light incorporated into the single round headlight (where market legislation permits) and a distinctive rear light integrated into the tail unit with unique light signature, plus LED self-cancelling indicators.
The Speed Triple 1200 RR is also equipped with a full keyless system (incorporating keyless ignition, steering lock and fuel filler cap) and fully adjustable cruise control.
Muscular poise and attitude
The single round headlight at the center of the cockpit fairing, with its unique Bond Edition gun barrel design, is a signature RR feature that gives the bike its beautiful silhouette with flawless clean lines.
The muscular nose-down poise is aggressive and focused, with lightweight, crafted carbon fiber detailing and distinctive 17-inch lightweight cast wheels.
And, the look of the bike is stunning from every angle thanks to the tail light design which is incorporated into the rear unit and the color coded belly pan and seat cowl, with interchangeable pillion seat.

The Road to MotoGP™ expands into Latin America
Two new competitions join the programme, growing its reach around the world
Wednesday, 05 October 2022
Dorna Sports is delighted to announce two additions to the Road to MotoGP™: the FIM MiniGP Latin America Series and the Latin America Talent Cup. The two series set in motion a new era for motorcycle racing talent across the continent of South America and beyond, offering young riders invaluable opportunities to join the Road to MotoGP™.
Riders from 20 countries will be eligible to participate in both the FIM MiniGP Latin America Series and the Latin America Talent Cup: Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina.
20 federations from around Latin America will be in charge of selecting the riders who will race in each competition.
Latin America Talent Cup
The standard Latin America Talent Cup calendar will be six rounds comprising 12 races. Riders will be aged from 14 to 21 years of age, with a grid size of 25.
The competition will begin near the end of 2023 as the first round takes place alongside WorldSBK’s expected return to San Juan Villicum in Argentina, and the calendar then follows its future schedule as it continues into 2024, with the first round of the season planned for March at the Autodromo Internacional de Codegua in Chile. The Cup then visits Termas de Rio Hondo in Argentina alongside MotoGP™, before two rounds in Brazil at the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Goiânia and the Circuito dos Cristais in Curvelo.
The top three riders in the Latin America Talent Cup will get the chance to take place in the Selection Event for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. The Champion of the Latin America Talent Cup will also get promoted into the SSP300 class in the CIV (Italian national Championship) as part of the GP3 AD11 team.
FIM MiniGP Latin America Series
The FIM MiniGP Latin America Series will begin in 2023, and in line with requirements to become part of the FIM MiniGP World Series, will see 15 riders between 10 and 14-years-old competing on equal Ohvale GP-0 160 machinery.
The calendar will run from March to October, with five events across three countries: Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
The 190cc FIM MiniGP Latin America Series will begin in 2025, providing the next step on the ladder for those who compete in the maiden year of the 160cc Series and the link between entry level and the next steps on the Road to MotoGP™. The top riders in the 2023 160cc FIM MiniGP Latin America Series will be promoted to the 190cc Series, and the top riders in the 190cc Series into the Latin America Talent Cup.
Both the Latin America Talent Cup and the FIM MiniGP Latin America Series will be run by GP3 Sport as promoter, in collaboration with FIM Latin America and as part of Dorna’s Road to MotoGP. They will also count on the support of rider coach Leandro “Tati” Mercado, current WorldSBK rider.
QUOTES
Pedro Venturo, President of FIM Latin America: “FIM Latin America is always searching for the best projects to develop motorcycling in the region. To be able to see these projects become a reality for Latin America fills us with pride and satisfaction, and we’re sure they will prove beneficial for riders across the region.”
Antonio D’Angelo, GP3 Sport: “We couldn’t be happier with this project. This is something we’ve been working on for a while – to be able to unite 20 different countries from across Latin America, giving riders the chance to compete equally and provide different options to allow them to reach the top levels of motorcycle racing. It’s something unique. With the help of Dorna and FIM Latin America we will be able to provide all the necessary tools in order to develop and grow Latin American riders.”

More, from a press release issued by MX Sports:
Loretta Lynn and Dave Coombs at the ranch. Photo courtesy Racer X.

NINJA® 650

A “press release” is promotional text issued by a rider, team, company or organization to inform
the public about an event, product, or service from the issuer’s own point of view, and if deemed
to have news value, may be placed on roadracingworld.com as a service to our readers.
A press release is not an article written by Roadracingworld.com staffers. When a post is labeled with the words “press release”, it means that Roadracingworld.com is not responsible for its content and that Roadracingworld.com makes no guarantee that it is accurate. Not all press releases are posted and Roadracingworld.com may reject press releases if the content is too heavy on commercial promotion with little or no news value or if the press release contains obvious errors.

Compliance status
We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience,
regardless of circumstance and ability.
To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level.
These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible
to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.
This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific
disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.
Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML,
adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.
If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email
Screen-reader and keyboard navigation
Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with
screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive
a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements,
alongside console screenshots of code examples:
Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website.
In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels;
descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups),
and others. Additionally, the background process scans all the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag
for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology.
To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on
as soon as they enter the website.
These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
Disability profiles supported in our website
Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments
Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over seven different coloring options.
Animations – person with epilepsy can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.
Browser and assistive technology compatibility
We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers).
Notes, comments, and feedback
Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their needs. There may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and features, and developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. For any assistance, please reach out to
