“WERA Motorcycle Roadracing has always been where young talent can develop, and WERA has produced many U.S. and World Champions in its more than 43-year history, so teaming up with Yamaha on the bLU cRU R3 Cup is a perfect partnership! The new Yamaha R3 is one of the best machines on which to learn how to road race, and we look forward to seeing our young riders compete on this machine in the E-Superstock Class in 2016,” said Evelyne Clarke, WERA CEO. “The year-end Yamaha bLU cRU R3 Cup Final at the WERA GNF at Barber Motorsports Park on October 22 will see some very happy riders receiving some awesome awards for finishing in the top three!”

Steve Liberatore, Yamaha’s South East Regional Business Manager, added. “Yamaha has a rich history of road racing going back to an era when a club racer could buy Yamaha GP-based, race bikes–like the legendary TD’s & TZ’s–right from their local Yamaha Dealer. Yamaha continues this “Spirit of Racing” in today’s format of street-based racing with our dominant R1, R6, and now, R3 Supersport models. Today, a club racer can still buy a race-winning Yamaha motorcycle right off their Yamaha Dealer’s showroom floor and test their mettle in one of WERA’s many competitive classes. We are thrilled to partner with WERA in the creation of the Yamaha bLU cRU R3 Cup. The R3 Cup adds yet another road racing class for our Yamaha bLU cRU racers to compete in and win!”
