WorldSBK: Bautista Breaks Lap Record In Superpole Qualifying At Catalunya

Aruba.it Racing Ducati’s Alvaro Bautista broke the All-Time Lap Record during World Superbike Superpole Qualifying Saturday at Circuito de Barcelona-Catalunya, in Spain. Riding his Panigale V4 R, Bautista did a 1:40.264, which eclipsed Tom Sykes’ mark of 1:40.408 from 2021.

Two-time Supersport World Champion and World Superbike rookie Dominique Aegerter qualified second with a 1:40.737 on his GYTR GRT Yamaha YZF-R1.

Six-time Superbike World Champion Jonathan Rea earned the final spot on the front row with a time of 1:40.761 on his factory Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR.

American Garrett Gerloff qualified ninth — and top BMW rider — with a 1:41.141 on his Bonovo Action BMW M 1000 RR.
