INTRODUCING THE NEW SUPER73-S2 ELECTRIC MOTORBIKE

Urban Adventure-ready

While the all-new SUPER73 R-Series electric motorbikes took center stage at the recent unveiling for media and fans in Los Angeles, the Orange County, CA-based lifestyle adventure brand also revealed the new SUPER73-S2 to rapturous applause.

The high-performance, street-legal electric motorbike goes on sale in Spring 2020 and is designed for the urban adventurer. The agile S2 is a sport-cruiser-style motorbike built with an aircraft-grade aluminum alloy frame and a fully adjustable air spring suspension fork. This is one of many upgrades of the company’s existing SUPER73-S1 model, and bridges the gap to the flagship R-Series models.

Just like the new R-Series, the SUPER73-S2 is also equipped with the company’s most powerful and technologically advanced SUPER73 drive system. It features multi-class ride modes and an all-new connected electronics suite compatible with both iOS and Android mobile devices through the new SUPER73 mobile app.

The new S2 is programmed with a Class-2 riding mode, which allows for throttle operation and pedal assist riding up to 20mph. This enables SUPER73-S2 owners to legally ride on most bike paths without a license, insurance or registration.

Additionally, there are three more modes available to the rider. For areas where throttle-powered electric bicycles are not allowed, the SUPER73-S2 can be operated using pedal assist with the throttle deactivated in Class-1 and Class-3 modes (Class-1 up to 20mph and Class-3 up to 28mph). There is also an “Unlimited” mode, which allows the rider to access up to 2000 watts of power via the throttle. This enables the SUPER73-S2 to reach speeds in excess of 28mph and is intended exclusively for riding off public roads and on private property.

The new generation of SUPER73 electric motorbikes have an electronics suite that pairs with iOS and Android devices through the new SUPER73 mobile app. Like the R-Series, the SUPER73-S2 is capable of receiving over-the-air updates to ensure the bikes always have the latest firmware, allowing them to operate at peak performance and have the most up-to-date functionality. An optional IoT module enables additional features such as remote anti-theft security, geolocation tracking and crash detection.

While most electric bicycles use a 400-700 watt-hour battery, the SUPER73-S2 is powered by a state-of-the-art 960 watt-hour battery: the largest in its segment, which it shares with the R-Series. This provides an estimated 40+ miles* of range at 20mph when using throttle-only operation, and an estimated 75+ miles* of range using the ECO pedal assist mode.

All SUPER73-S2 bikes are fitted with the new SUPER73 BDGR tires. Measuring 5” wide, the all-new BDGR tire is the widest and most aggressive 20” all-terrain fat tire in its class. The BDGR is the first tire to blend motorcycle and bicycle tire construction methods to meet the needs of this revolutionary vehicle. The proprietary SUPER73 tread pattern has been designed to improve traction, reduce road noise, and increase stability for both on-road and light-duty off-road riding.

The S2’s aircraft-grade aluminum alloy frame is fitted with a fully adjustable front suspension system, which includes an air spring as well as preload, compression, and rebound adjustments. The SUPER73-S2 comes standard with a 2-up seat designed to accommodate both a rider and passenger with optional passenger footpegs.

Additionally, the SUPER73-S2 features a bright, 630 lumen, triple-LED halo front light – the brightest headlight on any SUPER73. It also has an integrated brake light, full fender set, and a high-performance Tektro brake system, which includes two-piston forged aluminum calipers and 180mm rotors front and rear.

The SUPER73-S2 is available in three eye-catching colors; Galaxy Black, Apollo White, and Hudson Blue. The MSRP for the SUPER73-S2 will be $2695 USD.

Pre-orders for the SUPER73-S2 began on January 25, 2020 and US delivery is slated for Spring 2020. Early adopters can take advantage of the special pre-order pricing for the SUPER73-S2, which is set at $2195 through February 28, 2020.
