SportbikeTrackGear.com Racing is proud to introduce its two-rider team of Max Van and Joseph LiMandri Jr. competing in the SportbikeTrackGear.com Junior Cup Series for the 2022 season.

Both riders competed in the SportbikeTrackGear.com MotoAmerica Junior Cup Series in 2021. Max Van raced all nine rounds with a best finish of 4th and ended the season 7th in the championship. Being a relatively new racer (18 total race rounds in his short career by season’s end) Max’s performance exceeded all expectations. Joe LiMandri Jr. finished in the top 10 for the year, with three podium finishes in just 10 attempts (competed in 5 of the 9 rounds). Joe was stoked to finish on the podium three times but remains hungry for his first win.

Brian Van, Owner STG: “It is through the support of our STG Customers Max was able to race the 2021 STG MotoAmerica Junior Cup Series. This same support is what allows us to expand our team and help Joe LiMandri Jr. compete in the full 2022 series alongside Max. Each of these young men have tremendous potential both on and off the track.”

“For 2022, Jimmy Fox, Dave Bavol, Marcine Van, and myself will return to support Max. We had a ton of fun with the JL62 crew last year and welcome them under our canopy for the upcoming season. With our teams working together Max and Joe will be battling for the top step of the podium.”

Joseph LiMandri, Owner JL62 Racing: “This new partnership will allow Joe LiMandri Jr. to compete for the championship by attending every round. It’s just awesome. I can’t thank Brian Van (owner of SportbikeTrackGear.com) enough for giving me the opportunity. We’ve shown what we can do in the few rounds we attended in the past, so we are super hungry for more.”

The deal came about when the two teams were pitted next to each other during a couple of rounds in 2021.

“You know, we start talking, we’re watching how each team works, the kids get along great together, and before you know it, Brian just asks ‘What’s it going to take to have you in the paddock all next year?'” Joseph LiMandri Sr. said.

The father-son team have been doing all they can with a relatively small budget and lots of local support for the past three seasons at the national level.

“We get a ton of support from Anthony Corbo, Pablo Villavicencio, and Ura Torres from Bauce Racing on and off the track, and they’ll still be our crew for 2022,” along with continued support from Ben Filingeri, CEO of CyberSafe Solutions, Joseph added.  “But the Sportbiketrackgear.com sponsorship is going to help fill the gaps that prevented us from making the more distant rounds last season, and we’re incredibly grateful.”

Look for the two teens on the MotoAmerica grid in 2022.
