Motorsports Park Revs up for Huge Memorial Day Weekend Events

Vintage Motorcycle Festival, Swap Meet, Monster Truck Show and more to highlight the weekend!

MILLVILLE, N.J. (May 15, 2019) – New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) has planned a packed Memorial Day weekend, May 24 – 26, for locals and visitors alike featuring vintage motorcycles on-track, monster trucks off-track and family fun throughout the whole facility at go-karting, paintball and axe throwing!

The 7th Annual American Historic Motorcycle Racing Association (AHRMA) Vintage Motorcycle Festival & Swap Meet returns May 24 – 26 to take the fans back in time as vintage motorcycles from the 1920s to the early 1990s take on the park’s Thunderbolt Raceway. Friday, May 24 will be a full practice day with the first of two rounds of racing on Saturday afternoon. The second round will take place on Sunday, May 26.

There will be a wide variety of classes ranging from pre-1940s foot and tank shift, to the more modern bikes of the ‘80s and ‘90s not to mention a growing field in the exciting sidecar classes. This year is the series’ inaugural year of the “Vintage Cup” which highlights the 350GP class. This class will feature top riders, Alex McLean and Dave Roper who are currently leading the Cup challenge. There will be no shortage of wheel to wheel action during this race weekend. Come on out and watch it firsthand!

Motorcycle Parade Laps: NJMP welcomes all motorcycle enthusiasts for parade laps on their famous Thunderbolt Raceway on Friday, May 24 at 5:30 p.m. Parade lap entry is $10 and can be bought online or at the facility’s General Store the day of.

30,000-square foot Swap Meet: Vintage motorcycle collectors and enthusiasts have the opportunity to browse the 30,000-sq. ft. swap meet in pursuit of that rare part or memorabilia to complete their restoration or add to their collection. The swap meet will open all weekend, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The Speed-N- Chrome Motorcycle Show: The show will feature bikes of all makes and styles judged on their uniqueness, condition and rarity. Entry is free with the purchase of an event ticket. Sign up starts at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25 in the swap meet area. The top two entries in each category will receive trophies and prizes at 3:00 p.m.

The Millville facility’s weekend festivities also include the Inspira Health Monster Truck & Thrill Show, May 25. Gates open for the show at 5:00 p.m. and the show begins at 7:00p.m. NJMP has partnered with KSR Motorsports to bring fans the Monster Truck and Thrill Show for one night only. The show will feature fan favorites: XDP, Bad News Travels Fast, Killer Bee and Barsleak Defender. The trucks will show off during a freestyle show in addition to quad racing, a stunt rider, tailgate area, VIP experiences and more!

Pit Party to kick off the weekend: For the first time ever, NJMP is hosting a Pit Party the night before the Monster Truck and Thrill Show on Friday, May 24th! The Pit Party provides all Monster Truck fans the chance to see the Monster Truck lineup up close and a meet & greet with the drivers. The pit party on Friday is from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the park’s Finish Line Pub. The pit party is free to attend!

Family Activities starting at 5:00 p.m.: Family fun activities include Monster Truck Rides, Fan Zone offering inflatables and interactive games, and pre and post show Pit Party where fans get to check out the trucks up close, take pictures, and get autographs from the drivers.

“The monster truck show is one of the most requested events by our fans. To accommodate the anticipated growing crowd, our staff has worked with KSR Motorsports to provide the best fan experience possible” said Brad Scott, NJMP Chief Operating Officer. “We (NJMP) are expanding our viewing options including additional grandstand seating, a VIP Monster Truck Experience upgrade with reserved grandstand seating, and a Trackside Tailgate Zone”

Tailgate on the famous Thunderbolt Raceway: Fans have the option of tailgating in the Trackside Tailgate Zone located on the Thunderbolt Raceway. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to catch all the pre-event set up and action. BBQ grills, tents (up to 10×10), and coolers are only be allowed in the tailgate zone. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought onsite, but can be purchased at the concession stands or General’s Store.

Upgrade to the Monster Truck VIP Experience: Join the party and view the excitement from the climate controlled Officers’ Club overlooking the Inspira Health Monster Truck & Thrill Show. VIP upgrade includes early entrance at 4:00 p.m., BBQ buffet, cash bar, private autograph session with Monster Truck drivers at 6:00 p.m., and a private elevated viewing deck to watch all the car crushing action! Monster Truck VIP ticket holders also receive reserved grandstand seating to offer even more viewing locations and enhance fan experience.

Seating is limited for the Monster Truck Show, and advance ticket purchases are recommended. Tickets are available online until Wednesday, May 22 at midnight. For group ticket purchases of 10 or more, please call 856-327-7266 to receive 50% off discount.

To round off the activities at NJMP, the go-karting facility will host “Karting after Dark,” Friday, May 24, 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. allowing guests to drive their rental karts after normal hours under lights. Choppers Hatchet House Outdoors, located behind the Clubhouse, will be open to the public Friday, May 24, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. offering 15 throws for $10. Guests must be at least 14 years old for both activities.
