Walt Sipp back with Thrashed Bike Racing for MotoAmerica Stock 1000 and Superbike Cup in 2021.

Kansas City, MO – Veteran rider Walt Sipp announced today that he has once again teamed with Thrashed Bike Racing to contest select MotoAmerica Stock 1000 and Superbike Cup events on a Yamaha R1. Despite learning an all new bike to him, Walt was able to show good pace and hovered inside and around the top 10 in Stock 1000 at nearly every race – although our best finish was 11th. For 2021 the team his hoping for more consistency and to be in the top 10 week in and week out – as well as some top 15 finishes in Superbike.

Look for a different number though on the bike as “41” will be the new number on the number plate, replacing the much more familiar “221” after 20 years of use.

Walt said, “I’m really excited for this opportunity, and to be back in the MotoAmerica paddock. Last year I didn’t have any time on the R1 to speak of before heading to Road America 2, so I was behind all season. I felt I picked it up fast, but also made some bad decisions which cost me and the team the results we knew we were capable of. I’m looking forward to getting back on the bike at COTA for the test and starting from a good spot. I have no real expectations for the season other than to go have fun, but I’m hoping to qualify in the top half of the field at every race I attend and get some strong finishes.

He continued, “I can’t thank Tim at Thrashed Bike Racing enough for having me back, but also long time personal sponsor Bison Racing as well as DAS Performance, Top Notch Fabrication, Baxter’s Garage, HJC Helmets, Vortex, STG, Moto-D, Bonamici, iONEMOT and Ohlins, for helping make this all possible.
