American Flat Track: KTM Signs Kopp Through 2024

RED BULL KTM ANNOUNCES A TWO-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH AFT SINGLES RIDER KODY KOPP

MURRIETA, Calif. – KTM North America, Inc. is pleased to announce that AFT Singles Championship points leader Kody Kopp has signed a two-year deal to remain with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team through the 2024 American Flat Track Championship.

In only his first season with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, the 17-year-old has amassed six AFT Singles wins and a pair of runner-up finishes in 2022, carrying a comfortable championship points lead into the final four rounds of racing.

Kody Kopp: “I am overjoyed to be extending my commitment with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team for another two years. This team has been nothing short of a dream to ride for – the bike suits my riding style and the team suits me personally. I’m excited to show what I’m capable of in coming years and can’t thank KTM enough for this amazing opportunity!”

Chris Fillmore – Red Bull KTM Team Manager: “I think Kody’s results really speak for themselves this season. He entered into the team at 17-years-old with only one full AFT season under his belt, so I would say he’s exceeded my expectations so far. The drive and talent are evident from watching him on the track and he’s also quite mature and thorough away from the racetrack. We’re glad to have him on-board and look forward to seeing him grow and develop to his full potential with the KTM brand.”

Aprilia Introduces Ultra-Exclusive 230-Horsepower RSV4 XTrenta

Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta

FROM APRILIA RACING ENGINEERING AND MOTOGP TECHNOLOGY COMES THE MOST EXTREME, HIGH-PERFORMANCE AND EXCLUSIVE APRILIA RSV4 EVER

CHARACTERISED BY REFINED AERODYNAMICS, THE RSV4 XTRENTA IS THE FIRST MOTORBIKE IN THE WORLD EQUIPPED WITH REAR AND UNDER WINGS

UNPRECEDENTED PERFORMANCE FOR MAXIMUM FUN ON TRACK: 230 HP FOR JUST 166 KG, RACING ELECTRONICS AND SUSPENSIONS, DEDICATED SC-PROJECT EXHAUST AND A REAL RACING BIKE SET-UP

BORN TO CELEBRATE 30 YEARS SINCE APRILIA’S FIRST WORLD TITLE, IT IS PRODUCED IN A LIMITED AND NUMBERED SERIES OF 100 UNITS

After the great success of the RSV4 X, presented in 2019, and the Tuono X, the most powerful and lightest hypernaked bike ever, Aprilia Racing is back at work on the extraordinary V4 project by presenting the Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta, an absolutely unique creation that celebrates the 30th anniversary of Aprilia’s first World Championship title.

The RSV4 XTrenta is made by the Noale Racing Department by exploiting technologies never before so close to those used in MotoGP in terms of materials, components, electronics, attention to detail and above all aerodynamics, a sector which has become of fundamental importance in recent years and in which Aprilia Racing has shown itself to be at the forefront with the RS-GP committed to the 2022 season.

Never before has a motorbike on sale to the public been able to boast such a refined aerodynamic study. All the parts of the carbon fairing are made by PAN Compositi using the same processes used in MotoGP and incorporates both the newly designed front wings, capable of guaranteeing more load and at the same time less drag, and the brand new rear wings, on the tail. But that’s not all: the RSV4 XTrenta is the first bike in the world to mount the ‘under wing’ on the swingarm, the lower wing that equips the RS-GP bikes from 2019 and is commonly called the ‘spoon’ in MotoGP. The results of the new configuration speak for themselves: aerodynamic load increases by 25%, while reducing drag by 4%.

Starting from the already excellent base represented by the 2022 Aprilia RSV4 Factory 2022, Aprilia Racing’s interventions have covered every area, starting with the engine, which reaches the extraordinary peak of 230 horsepower. This is thanks to an increase in the compression ratio, which works in symbiosis with a specific titanium and carbon exhaust system created by partner SC-Project, which looks after and develops all Aprilia Racing exhausts. A Sprint Filter air filter using MotoGP and Formula 1 specification materials completes the equipment. A full-titanium silencer whose design is derived directly from the unit used in MotoGP will be available as an option. In light of the high performance and heavy-duty track use, the water and oil radiators are Superbike-derived Taleo Tecnoracing.

The performance of the Italian V4 is managed by a specially calibrated Magneti Marelli control unit, while the transmission features a PBR-branded titanium sprocket (another XTrenta exclusive). The RSV4 XTrenta’s electronic suite is controlled by a JetPrime racing panel, while accessories include footpegs, handlebar levers and a CNC fuel cap by Spider.

On the chassis side, the RSV4’s rigorous chassis is refined with Ohlins suspension modified by Andreani in collaboration with Aprilia MotoGP engineers. The billet steering plate is exclusive to Aprilia Racing. The braking system is the top available on the market, Brembo branded, consisting at the front of GP4-MS billet monobloc calipers and 330mm T-drive discs. The forged magnesium Marchesini M7R GENESI rims fit Pirelli Diablo SBK slick tyres in sizes 120/70 and 200/65, with SC-1 compound front and SC-X compound rear. The wheel weight reduction is around 2 kg compared to the standard.

The livery of the new Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta, used by Lorenzo Savadori in the Austrian GP, represents a contemporary interpretation of the one Aprilia sported in 1992 in the 125cc MotoGP class, on the occasion of the first of the 54 world titles that make its palmarès one of the richest in motorcycling sport.

Availability and price

Each of the 100 units of the Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta, offered at a price of €50,000 ($49,727 USD) excluding VAT, will be bookable exclusively online from 6 September, by accessing the factoryworks.aprilia.com web area. Lucky buyers will also have the chance to collect their model from Aprilia Racing, with an exclusive visit to the Noale racing department at the same time, and will receive not only the limited and numbered version of the RSV4 but also the dedicated motorbike cover and mat.

The RSV4 XTrenta is part of the Factory Works programme launched by Aprilia Racing: unique in the world, it makes the same technology developed in competition available to those who intend to compete at the highest levels in the production derivatives championships or who wish to have an RSV4 or Tuono V4 with performance optimised for use on the track.

Ducati Unveils Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini

Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini: extreme combination of sportiness, exclusivity and appeal

A numbered and limited edition of 630+63 units, inspired by the super-performing Lamborghini Huracán STO and built on the technical base of the Panigale V4 S 2023

Characterized by extremely aggressive shapes, special and light components and a dedicated livery, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini represents the second chapter of the collaboration between the two brands that are ambassadors of Made in Italy in the world

Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini Speciale Clienti: a limited and numbered series of 63 units reserved for special Lamborghini customers who will have the opportunity to configure the bike with body colours and rims identical to the car they own, as well as matching seat colours and front brake caliper colours

Passionate customers can complete their look with a limited edition helmet, jacket and leathers, all in the colours of the bike

Misano Adriatico/Borgo Panigale/Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, 2 September 2022 – From the heart of Motor Valley, in the prestigious context of the San Marino and the Rimini Riviera GP, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini has been unveiled to the public (here is the link to the official presentation).

The most attractive and exclusive Ducati Streetfighter ever produced is a motorcycle that perfectly embodies the values of extreme performance, sportiness and exclusivity shared by Ducati and Lamborghini, two brands of excellence that have contributed to writing the history of Motor Valley and that renew and enhance their collaboration with this special project. The final result is a magical combination of technology, performance and beauty, capable of making fans dream from the very first glance.

By applying the technical base of the Panigale V4 S ’23 and integrating elements that characterize the DNA of Lamborghini, Ducati has created a hyper-exclusive model. The bike will be produced in a numbered series limited to 630+63 units and it reworks the concepts that gave life to the Lamborghini Huracán STO.

The Huracán STO is the highest-performing model ever made of the Huracán family, a supersports car created with the sole purpose of offering all the sensations of sports driving and the technology of a real racing car in a model approved for road use. An approach with light materials and functional design come together to express outright performance.

Lamborghini style features have been transferred to the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini, starting with the forged wheels made specifically for this bike with the design of the Huracán STO. The rear rim is enriched by the presence of a single titanium locking nut, also with a Lamborghini design.

The Centro Stile Ducati has redesigned the superstructures of this special bike drawing strong inspiration from the Huracán STO: on the front mudguard, tank cover, belly pan and tail, all new components, grille extractors, vents and air intakes have been obtained explicitly recalling those present on the car. Specifically, the mudguard is inspired by the integrated air vents in the Lamborghini “cofango”, the extractors obtained on the belly pan follow the cooling intakes of the rear brakes of the Huracán STO, those present on the side covers of the tank recall the vents on the front fenders of the car while the extractors on the single-seater tail refer to those on the bonnet of the Lamborghini.

A further testimony of the obsessive attention to detail that characterizes this bike is the fact that all the carbon components (including the aforementioned front mudguard, belly pan, radiator cover, wings, tank cover and tail) are made using the same texture visible on the supersports cars of the Sant’Agata Bolognese company. The saddle of the motorcycle is also inspired by the finish of the seats of the Huracán STO thanks to the presence of highlights in the same colour as the superstructures.

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini is enhanced by further precious components: adjustable rider foot pegs and lightened brake and clutch levers in billet aluminium (in collaboration with Rizoma), and the heel guards, the saddle pad, dashboard cover and ignition switch cover as well as the sprocket protection made of the special carbon fibre used for the bodywork components. The same carbon fibre is used in parts assigned to heat protection in the covers of the rear head and manifolds of the relative cylinder bank, but also in the headlight support, in the rear mudguard and in the rear subframe guards. The side view of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini is finally also enhanced by the Akrapovič exhaust silencer in titanium with carbon fibre end cap.

The name of the model and the serial number of the bike are shown on a metal plate inserted in the central tank cover. The number is also machined from solid on an aluminium insert of the ignition key and appears on the TFT dashboard during ignition, together with a celebratory animation showing the Ducati and Lamborghini badges and the silhouette of the model

630 examples of the Ducati Streetfighter Lamborghini will be made in Verde Citrea/Arancio Dac, one of the specific colour combinations of the Huracán STO. Brembo wings and brake calipers are also coloured in Arancio Dac, the latter with a contrasting black logo. The Öhlins stays and fork legs are black.

In addition to the 630 Verde Citrea/Arancio Dac units, Ducati is offering an even more exclusive series of 63 bikes, called Speciale Clienti , which are only available to 63 Lamborghini customers. These customers, through a direct collaboration with the Centro Stile Ducati, will be able to configure their Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini Speciale Clienti with body colours and wheels exactly like their Lamborghini. It will also be possible for them to choose the colours of the brake calipers among those included in the palette (Yellow, Red, Black and California Orange, in addition to the standard colour) and the details of the saddle among the four available versions.

The heart of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini is the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale engine with a power output of 208 hp (Euro5 EU version), characterized by a counter-rotating shaft, desmodromic distribution with four valves per cylinder and Twin Pulse firing order derived from MotoGP. On the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini the engine is characterized by having a dry clutch, as on the Ducati MotoGP and Superbike.

The aluminium Front Frame uses the engine as a stressed element. The suspensions are Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active units, while the Brembo braking system relies on Stylema calipers and 330 mm discs. The aerodynamic package, based on carbon biplane wings integrated into the tank side covers, stabilizes the bike at high speeds without compromising agility and handling. The kerb weight is 197.5 kg.

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini is supplied with a series of accessories that increase its appeal and ease of set-up for track use. They start with the open carbon fibre cover for the dry clutch and continue with the caps for the removal of the number plate and rear-view mirrors, a racing fuel cap and a motorcycle cover in the same colour as the bodywork. The equipment is completed by an aluminium certificate of authenticity, on which the frame and engine numbers are shown, to guarantee the originality of the bike and to further underline its exclusivity.

This unique collaboration is reinforced by the possibility, reserved for Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini owners, to complete the look with a limited edition helmet, jacket and leathers, featuring a colour scheme that echoes that of the motorcycle.

Furthermore, for purchasers of the special customer version, the leathers can also be customized in the colours used for the configuration, limited to the choice offered by the Dainese palette.

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini was unveiled on the occasion of the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix at the Marco Simoncelli World Circuit. The collaboration between Ducati and Lamborghini, which had already given life in 2021 to the Siàn-inspired Diavel 1260 Lamborghini – so successful that it sold out in a few days – will also continue on the MotoGP circuits. In fact, starting from the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix, the shield of the Sant’Agata Bolognese company also appears on the Desmosedici of the Ducati Lenovo Team.

Deliveries of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini will start in April 2023.

A beauty video featuring the new Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini alongside the Lamborghini Huracán STO is available on Ducati’s YouTube channel. Additional images of this special bike can be seen on Ducati Media House.

MotoGP: Marquez Will Do Post-Race Test At Misano

Marquez to travel to Misano

Satisfied with the condition of his right arm, Marc Marquez will travel to Misano with the intention of riding the Honda RC213V during the post-race test.

After two positives tests aboard a Honda CBR600RR at the MotorLand Aragon circuit on August 31 and September 02, Marc Marquez has gained valuable knowledge on the condition of his arm. With the information gained and satisfied with the progress of his right humerus, Marquez will now travel to the San Marino GP with the intention of testing his physical condition further on his Honda RC213V during the post-race MotoGP test. The eight-time World Champion will arrive in Misano on Friday evening to once again observe and work alongside the Repsol Honda Team and HRC before aiming to take to the circuit on Tuesday.

Northern Talent Cup: Injury Takes American-Born Moor Out Of Finale

Moor to miss finale, focus shifts to Farkas

After injuring his arm in training, the points leader is on the sidelines as Farkas faces down a pivotal weekend in Austria

Friday, 02 September 2022

As the Northern Talent Cup gets back on track for the finale alongside IDM at the Red Bull Ring, the first twist in the tale has already happened. Ahead of the event, points leader Rossi Moor (FAIRIUM Next Generation Riders) crashed in training and injured his arm, and the Hungarian will sadly be forced to watch the final two races from the sidelines. That means compatriot and rider-on-a-roll Kevin Farkas (Agria Racing Team) has a somewhat open goal ahead of him, 14 points down and with 50 on the table.

The Red Bull Ring is also a good venue for Farkas, having staged his first forays at the very front and given the number 28 some good success with his first win, as well as podiums last season. And, after his recent runaway victories in his dash to catch Moor in 2022, that 14-point gap makes for even more positive reading.

So can he do it? On his tail, as ever, will be plenty of fast faces even if one has to watch from the stands. Dustin Schneider (Goblin Racing) is in third with just a single point in hand over Loris Veneman (TeamNL Open Line), with that seemingly a duel for third overall. Veneman was also on the podium in Spielberg in 2021. Meanwhile Martin Vincze (Chrobák Motorsport Egyesület) has Jurrien Van Crugten (BB64 Academy) and Lennoxx Phommara (Team Phommara) for close company as they battle for a place in the top five overall, if not more, and Phommara also has podium form at the venue. The same is true of Tibor Varga (Forty Racing), and he’s another who’ll want another podium before signing off from 2022 – a little back from the gaggle ahead but not by enough to be counted out of a key role in the finale.

14 points, a little more pressure and one contender remaining: can Farkas wrap up the crown? Tune in this weekend to find out as the NTC gets back on track for the final time in 2022!

Fast teens head to Modena Rookies Cup Selection Event

Well over a 100 of the world’s best teenage racers will assemble in Modena, Italy on September 6th, 7th and 8th for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Selection Event.

After three days of track action a number will be invited to join the Cup for 2023.

It is the first time that the Selection Event has been run at Modena and the first time in three years that there has been a Selection Event as it could not be run in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid.

Roughly half the assembled riders take to the track on Day 1, the other half on Day 2. Those that are considered to have the best chance of being invited to join the Cup are offered the possibility of riding again on Day 3.

While the prospective Rookies make their way to Modena one of this year’s Rookies, Harrison Voight, lines up 170km down the A14 in Misano at the Grand Prix in the Moto3 class making him the 101st Rookie to make a GP start.

More than 50% of Rookies have made a GP start and 26 of those have won 152 GPs.

Vote to give your favourite rider at the Selection Event the chance to wear the Golden Bib!
