The reigning World Champion connected to the Press Conference in Argentina to share some updates on his recovery and comeback.
Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) dropped in as a special guest to the Thursday Press Conference at the Argentina GP, connecting live from Spain to share a few updates on his recovery – including when he might come back to racing action.
“I’m really happy to join you here in the Press conference. Hi to Pecco, Marc and Alex!
“Here I’m really suffering, it’s not my moment. I’m struggling to recover as fast as I’d like. I can say from here I won’t be in Austin, I would like to be there but I won’t be racing, and I don’t know if I can do in Qatar – I don’t know yet, it’s still really early for sure.
“I’d like to make some sort of test before coming back to racing because I’m not feeling really good, and I know Massimo is working on that. So let’s see if we can make it possible.”
He is, of course, keeping a close eye on the action however – and keeping a definite sense of humour as he waits to be able to come back.
“It’s hard to watch from home, I’ll follow this weekend really closely. I’m cheering for Aprilia, hopefully they can improve a bit more and be closer to that podium. For sure, it’s a bit boring without me on track… but I hope these guys can put on a big show this weekend. I’ll watch from home and I’m sure I’ll enjoy the race!”

Tyler O’Hara To Host A MotoAmerica Mini Cup Qualifier At Sonoma Raceway
MotoAmerica Star Will Organize And Host A Qualifying Round On March 15
MotoAmerica, North America’s premier motorcycle road racing series, is proud to announce that 2022 Mission King Of The Baggers Champion and 2023 Super Hooligan National Champion Tyler O’Hara, along with Hawk Mazzotta Moto Camp and NNKC Minimoto, will organize and host a MotoAmerica Mission Mini Cup Qualifier at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California, on March 15. The Qualifier will be for the Mission Mini Cup National Final, which will be held for the second consecutive year at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, August 8-10. O’Hara has contracted NNKC Minimoto to officiate the racing action.
Qualifiers at the Sonoma event will be held for all six classes: Stock 50 (ages 6-8); Stock 110 (ages 8-12); GP 110 (ages 8-12); GP 160 (ages 10-14); GP 190 (ages 10-14); and Street GP (ages 14 and up).
The Sonoma event will also feature a Hawk Mazzotta Moto Camp, with the MotoAmerica racer providing motorcycle training and lessons to all levels of riders/racers.
Additionally, former MotoGP star John Hopkins will be on hand with Ohvale USA and will have Ohvale 160 and 190 and 110s racebikes available for rent. The rentals are $250 per bike with a $500 deposit. Ohvale USA will also pay contingency money for the top three finishers in races that meet the minimum Ohvale 5-rider requirement.
“It’s great to see Tyler stepping up and supporting the future of our sport by helping young racers from Northern California qualify for the National Final,” said MotoAmerica COO Chuck Aksland. “Tyler’s dedication to helping up-and-coming talent is awesome, and he’s bringing some great ideas to the table, like having Hawk Mazzotta provide basic schooling for the young racers. We’re excited to see how his first event turns out and hope it sets the groundwork for many more to come.”
“I’m stoked to be promoting and hosting a Mission MotoAmerica Mini Cup Qualifier,” O’Hara said. “Helping others get started in motorcycling and motorcycle racing is something I enjoy and giving young racers in my area the chance to qualify and ultimately race in the National Final at Road America is cool. There have been a ton of racers from Northern California who have gone on to great things in motorcycle racing and we’d like to see that continue. With help from Hawk Mazzotta and his camp, and also Ohvale USA’s John Hopkins, we’re excited to work with MotoAmerica and can’t wait for March 15. With Hopkins bringing Ohvales to the event for racers to rent, we’re hopeful that youngsters from outside the area will travel to Sonoma to compete without having to bring their motorcycles.”

Tyler O’Hara and Hawk Mazzotta to host GP World Cup alongside Mission MotoAmerica Mini Cup Qualifier
Nine support classes scheduled for the MotoAmerica Mini Cup Qualifier at Sonoma Raceway on March 15
In addition to hosting a qualifying round for the Mission Mini Cup National Final at Road America in Elkhart Lake, 2022 Mission King Of The Baggers Champion and 2023 Super Hooligan National Champion, Tyler O’Hara, along with Hawk Mazzotta Moto Camp and NNKC Minimoto, will be hosting a bumper undercard on March 15 at Sonoma Raceway, CA, that includes the Parts Unlimited GP World Cup, Metzeler Supermoto Pro and DTX19 Class.
The GP World Cup feeds off the burgeoning popularity of sub-500cc twin-cylinder motorcycles ridden at kart tracks such as the Kawasaki Ninja 500, Yamaha YZF-R3, and KTM 390 Duke. A minimum age of 15 is mandatory for all competitors, as is a valid AMA membership.
GP World Cup is for riders on bikes formerly seen in Junior Cup races.
With MotoAmerica moving away from production machines to specialized Krämer APX-350 MA machines for the 2025 MotoAmerica Talent Cup, O’Hara’s and Mazzotta’s GP World Cup is the perfect opportunity for racers to continue to campaign the machines previously seen in the MotoAmerica Junior Cup.
Supermoto competitors have not been left out with the Supermoto Pro category for two-stroke machines 175cc-350cc, four-stroke machines from 250cc-550cc, and electric machines such as the Stark Varg eligible to compete.
Supermoto bikes are included in the event at Sonoma.
The Parts Unlimited GP World Cup field will be eligible for a $1500 purse while the Metzeler Supermoto Pro class will be eligible for a $1000 purse.
Other classes featured on the Mission MotoAmerica Mini Cup Qualifier weekend include Supermoto Amateur (running the same engine sizes as Supermoto Pro), the DTX19 Class for dirt track machines running 19-inch wheels and tires that run a front brake (again, running the same engine sizes as Supermoto Pro), SM3 Supermini for 12 year old and up riders, Supermoto Mini for 10 year old and up riders, Junior Class for riders six to 12 years old, Micromoto for four to eight year old riders, and a Stacyc category for riders two to five years old on the Stacyc 12 and 16 inch models.
Classes for young kids riding Stacyc electric bikes are also included.
O’Hara and Mazzotta will be teaming with former MotoGP podium finisher and Ohvale importer, John Hopkins, to offer rental racebikes in 190cc, 160cc and 110cc capacities for the MotoAmerica Mini Cup Qualifier.
Rumble Strip Rentals will also be offering race-ready Yamaha YZF-R3 machines for the GP World Cup class.
“I’m really pleased to be helping the sport grow by hosting the next generation of road racers, but I also wanted to give back to the local community of racers, which is why we’ve got such a massive program scheduled,” said Tyler O’Hara. “There’s going to be a class for almost anyone to compete in, and I especially feel the GP World Cup will be a great one to watch as there are a lot of riders who use these machines as the perfect training tool for road racing.
“I come from Supermoto, so I couldn’t host an event that didn’t have my roots in there! Supermoto is coming back in America quickly and we’ve got some world class riders who will be in attendance. We’ve got almost every aspect of tarmac competition covered, right down to the Stacyc class for the little rippers. It’s going to be an amazing weekend.”
Campionato Italiano MX – Brilliant Podium Finish on Debut for the Ducati Desmo250 MX
•The brand-new bike from the Borgo Panigale company was put to the test on the treacherous sands of Ottobiano and immediately demonstrated great competitiveness and reliability.
•The Desmo250 MX passes the first test of the season, taking third place in the Italian Prestige MX2 Championship with a strong Alessandro Lupino.
It took just a few weeks for the Ducati Desmo250 MX, raced by Team Beddini Factory Racing, to conquer the first Italian podium of its very young career. Despite a painful and swollen wrist, the reigning Italian MX1 Champion managed to get on the podium at the first attempt, demonstrating all his fight and tenacity.
It had been 10 years since Alessandro Lupino had ridden a 250 4-stroke, and the first round of the Italian Prestige Motocross MX2 Championship was also the occasion for him to debut in a class he had never competed in before in the Italian series. The nine-time Italian Motocross Champion, with 44 podiums to his name in MX1, riding the Ducati Desmo250 MX for its debut, also achieved his first personal top three in the Prestige MX2 Championship.
First in his group at the end of official practice on Saturday, Alessandro also recorded the best time in the subsequent timed session, earning the second gate pick for the two motos on Sunday.
At the start of race one, the 34-year-old began just outside the top five, moving into fourth after one lap. By the next lap, he was in third, maintaining an excellent pace and quickly closing the gap to second, eventually taking the position. However, his rival’s response was clumsy, and after making contact, Lupino was sent to the ground with a sore wrist and the bike severely damaged. The Italian didn’t give up, though, and admirably gritted his teeth to cross the finish line in 10th.
Then, in the second moto, Alessandro was fifth out of the first corner and, after three laps, was in second, as he superbly found his flow. From there, nothing stood between the Desmo250 MX and the third step of the podium, which served as a fitting reward for a brilliant moto.
After the first round of the championship, Lupino is third in the standings with 290 points. The next round of the Italian Prestige Championship will be held at the Mantova circuit on March 29 and 30, a track where, a year ago, Alessandro rode the Desmo450 MX for its debut.
Alessandro Lupino: “I’m happy once again, we did a great job, and I have to congratulate the team at Ducati, who performed a miracle. The Desmo250 MX has only been running for three weeks, and today we came for a test day. However, if I hadn’t been taken out, we could have secured two second-place finishes. As a rider, I’m pleasantly surprised to have made it onto the podium and to already have such a competitive bike on our first outing.”

The Ducati Desmo250 MX finishes third in an Italian Prestige MX2 Championship race, ridden by Alessandro Lupino.

Compliance status
We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience,
regardless of circumstance and ability.
To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level.
These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible
to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.
This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific
disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.
Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML,
adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.
If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email
Screen-reader and keyboard navigation
Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with
screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive
a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements,
alongside console screenshots of code examples:
Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website.
In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels;
descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups),
and others. Additionally, the background process scans all the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag
for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology.
To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on
as soon as they enter the website.
These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
Disability profiles supported in our website
Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
