*The Traction Control System is not a substitute for the rider’s throttle control. It cannot prevent loss of traction due to excessive speed when the rider enters a turn and/or applies the brakes. Neither can it prevent the front wheel from losing grip.
**Depending on road surface conditions, such as wet, loose, or uneven roads, braking distance for an ABS-equipped vehicle may be longer than for a vehicle not equipped with ABS. ABS cannot prevent wheel skidding caused by braking while cornering. Please drive carefully and do not overly rely on ABS.

WorldSBK: Razgatlioglu Improves Before Rain Hits FP2 At Donington Park (Updated)

Pata Yamaha Prometeon’s Toprak Razgatlioglu improved his lap time slightly in World Superbike Free Practice Two (FP2), just before a rain shower dampened the on-track action Friday afternoon at Donington Park, in England.

After posting a 1:27.679 in FP1, Razgatlioglu did a 1:27.639 in FP2, right before it started raining. As a result, only seven riders recorded timed laps during the session.

On the first day of the Prosecco DOC UK Round at Donington Park, Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) concluded the day as the fastest rider in mixed conditions, as he set the best time in the morning session before intermittent rain affected the proceedings in FP2.

Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK team) finished just 0.012 seconds off the fastest time with his best FP2 lap. Team GoEleven’s Philipp Oettl secured the third-fastest time, leading the Ducati riders.

British riders Bradley Ray (Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team)and Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) secured fifth and sixth places respectively. Varying conditions and limited mileage meant that Championship leader Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) finished only eighth in the day’s standings.

Jonathan Rea was fastest overall on day 1 but will be looking forward to getting more track time to prepare for Race 1.

P1 | Jonathan Rea | Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK

“It was a strange day because this morning, even with mixed conditions, you don’t want to be the first guy to find out it’s slippery… So I was much more cautious, trying to pick my window on the track. I didn’t really do many very fast corner laps, but during the laps I did, the bike felt okay. I was working on the new asphalt, which has a lot of grip compared to last year. We understood some things, but we need to put all of this together for a long race. We would need much more time, and we’re running out of time, which means tomorrow morning’s FP3 is very important to make really good decisions for our race setup.”

BMW Offering Intelligent Emergency Call Feature On Many 2024 Models

BMW Motorrad USA 2024 Model Year Update.

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – June 30, 2023…BMW Motorrad USA would like to announce the first model year update for 2024. Updates include new colors and Option 719 packages as well as a newly offered Intelligent Emergency Call feature.

Intelligent Emergency Call is available as standard or as an option for the following models and series in the USA and Canada for model year 2024: F 900 R and XR (optional) K 1600x (standard), R 1250x (standard), R 18 B and Transcontinental (standard), S 1000 R / RR (standard), CE 04 (standard). Intelligent Emergency Call adds a covered SOS button, loudspeaker and microphone to the right-side handlebar controls.

The eCall system uses BMW Motorrad Connected Services which can be activated during new vehicle delivery to the customer. When pressed, the SOS button connects the rider to an agent who can be advised verbally of the general situation, of the level of injury, if one exists and who can contact emergency services, if required. If a motorcycle fall or crash is detected, an eCall is automatically placed.

Moto2: SDK Addressing Ongoing Arm Pump Issue During Summer Break

Sean Dylan Kelly will undergo investigations during the summer break after battling against arm pump issues for the first half of the season.

After a troublesome start to the season, Sean’s arm pump issues came to a point during the final round of the triple-header when the American was forced to retire due to the issue.

The physicality of the Assen track exacerbated the problem beyond his or the team’s control and now Sean will use the five-week break to seek medical advice and treatment in the hope to be fit for the remainder of the season.

We will keep you informed of any further developments.

Sean Dylan Kelly #4

Overall, I think it had been a positive weekend because I felt really good on the bike. I made a big improvement in terms of speed, and I think I was really consistent this weekend plus I’m truly happy with how I worked with the team.

I had good pace on my own – I went from a not-so-strong FP1 to building throughout every session and I felt really strong coming into the race. But, unfortunately, I’m in a tough moment right now as I had to retire on lap 15 because I’m just having some big issues with my right arm. We did some medical checks on Friday and found my forearm is worse than expected. Although it was something that I tried to solve coming into the season, it seems that something’s come back up.

I think right now I’ve got to focus on how to fix this problem within the next 5 weeks so I can show up to Silverstone completely ready to do my job and give my 100%.

The Hayabusa, like its namesake peregrine falcon, continues to soar above all. The 25th Anniversary Hayabusa will be arriving at dealerships late summer.

Alex Lowes secured the fifth overall position while Brad Ray finished sixth on Friday.

Bautista faced a demanding day at Donington Park, posting the eighth fastest time, 0.516s behind the pace-setting Rea.
