Manuel Gonzalez was the man to beat during Moto2 World qualifying Saturday at Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, in Austria. The Spaniard rider topped qualifying session with a new lap record time. Riding his Pirelli-shod LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Kalex, Gonzalez navigated the 2.7-mile (4.35 km) course in 1:32.779, breaking his own’s 2025 All-Time Lap Record of 1:33.290 he set yesterday during the practice session.
Daniel Holgado was second-best with a 1:32.873 on his CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team Kalex.
Diogo Moreira claimed the third and final spot on the front row with a 1:32.977 on his Italtrans Racing Team Kalex.
Row-two qualifiers included Sync SpeedRS Team’s Celestino Vietti (1:33.059), Holgado’s teammate, David Alonso (1:33.064) and Gonzalez’s teammate Senna Agius (1:33.117).
American Joe Roberts finished Saturday afternoon’s qualifying session 21st with a best time of 1:33.514 on his OnlyFans American Racing Team Kalex.
Gonzalez fastest as Holgado gets set for Sunday pole. The title chase leader earned P1 on Saturday but will face a three-place grid penalty, promoting the rookie to pole.
Manuel Gonzalez (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) set a scintillating pace in Moto2 Q2 at the BWIN Grand Prix of Austria to clinch pole position honours, but after being handed a three-place grid penalty for Sunday’s race, it’ll be second place Daniel Holgado (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) who will launch from P1 alongside Diogo Moreira (Italtrans Racing Team) and Celestino Vietti (Sync SpeedRS Team).
The Italian is promoted to the front row with Gonzalez set for a P4 start, with just under three tenths splitting the top five in a Q2 session which included Q1 pacesetter David Alonso (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team). The Colombian will go racing from the middle of the second row, with Australian Senna Agius (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) joining his teammate and Alonso on the second row in P6.
A bruised Aron Canet (Fantic Racing Lino Sonego), the rider second in the standings, will start from P8 after he suffered a heavy crash in FP2, while teammate Barry Baltus was forced to settle for P11. Two big names and 2025 race winners, Jake Dixon (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) and Joe Roberts (OnlyFans American Racing), failed to make it out of Q1 and will be looking for comeback rides from P21 and P22 respectively.
Tune into the Moto2 race from the Red Bull Ring on Sunday at 12:15 (UTC +2).

KWR Harley-Davidson’s James Rispoli and Saddlemen Race Development’s Travis Wyman completed the top five.
Valentin Perrone earned pole position during Moto3 World Championship qualifying Saturday at Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, in Austria. Riding his Red Bull KTM Tech3 on Pirelli control tires, Perrone topped the 26-rider field with a lap time of 1:39.938.
Angel Piqueras was the best of the rest with a 1:39.984 on his FRINSA – MT Helmet – MSI KTM, and his teammate, Ryusei Yamanaka claimed the third and final spot on the front row with a 1:40.084.
Row-two qualifiers included CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar team’s Dennis Foggia (1:40.090) and Maximo Quiles (1:40.117) and Leopard Racing Honda’s Adrian Fernandez (1:40.264).
Perrone takes maiden pole to deny pacesetter Piqueras. On home turf for Red Bull and KTM, the Tech 3 rider makes it a first career pole and first for Argentina since 2021.
Valentin Perrone (Red Bull KTM Tech3) has taken pole position in Austria, making it the first for Argentina since 2021 and his first ever in Moto3™. He may have stolen his own headlines earlier in the day, however, with one of the most incredible saves ever – hands down. (Literally!)
Joining him on the front row are Angel Piqueras (QJMotor – FRINSA – MSI), just denied top spot and the pacesetter so far, and his teammate Ryusei Yamanaka in third. Championship leader Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) starts eighth.
Dennis Foggia and CFMoto Gaviota Aspar teammate Max Quiles – who duelled in Brno – are locked together in fourth and fifth, with Adrian Fernandez (Leopard Racing) completing Row 2.
Alvaro Carpe (Red bull KTM Ajo) and David Almansa (Leopard Racing) are split by Rueda on the third row, with Joel Kelso (LEVELUP – MTA) completing the top ten.
Marco Bezzecchi claimed pole position during MotoGP qualifying Saturday at Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, in Austria. Riding his Aprilia Racing RS-GP25 on the 2.7-mile (4.35 km) track, the Italian turned a lap time of 1:28.060 to lead the field of 21 riders and take his first pole of the season.
Alex Marquez was the best of the rest with a 1:28.076 on his BK8 Gresini Ducati Desmosedici GP24, and Francesco Bagnaia claimed the third and final spot on the front row with a 1:28.202 on his Lenovo Ducati Desmosedici GP25.
Row-two qualifiers included Bagnaia’s teammate, Marc Marquez (1:28.220), Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Enea Bastianini (1:28.236) and A. Marquez’s teammate Fermin Aldeguer (1:28.302).
Q1 to pole: Bezzecchi takes first pole since 2023 as Marquez crashes out. The Aprilia rider heads Alex Marquez and Bagnaia as the #93 slides out and Acosta suffers an adventurous Q2.
Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) went from Q1 to pole position in qualifying at the bwin Grand Prix of Austria, taking his first pole with Aprilia and first since the 2023 Indian GP. Tucked in behind compatriot Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), the #72 just pipped the #63 by a tenth and a half. Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) struck later to split the two and take second – with Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) sidelined from the final push for pole by a late crash.
Q1 – Bastianini attacks late to lead Bez
With just over a couple of minutes left on the clock in Q1, it looked like Aprilia Racing’s Marco Bezzecchi and reigning Champion Jorge Martin would be the duo heading through, in that order, after a couple of moments in Friday Practice kept the two from automatic places in Q2. Enter Enea Bastianini (Red Bull KTM Tech3).
The ‘Beast’ put in a late flying lap to top the session and demote Bezzecchi to second, andLuca Marini (Honda HRC Castrol) then pipped Martin too – so Bastianini and Bezzechi joined Q2 as Marini takes P13 on the grid and Martin P14.
Q2 – Bezzecchi Strikes back, Marquez strikes out
The yellow flags were out early as Johann Zarco (CASTROL Honda LCR) crashed, rider ok, and it didn’t cause too much drama for the rest.
The next drama was for Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). He was fourth at the time behind Marc Marquez, Alex Marquez and Bagnaia. But the #37 didn’t crash, he either had a technical issue or was low on fuel and had to get himself and the bike back. After a few pushes to get going, Acosta was able to roll back down towards the paddock, through the entrance, and drive his RC-16 in through the back door of his box. Unconventional but effective.
As the second runs began, Bagnaia was first to set another quick lap and took over on top. But this time round Bezzecchi was right behind him and the #72 picked Pecco’s pocket to take over on top. Alex Marquez split the two before Bastianini then made a play for pole, but the #23 lost out in the final sector and slotted into fifth. Then Marc Marquez crashed.
Down at the chicane, the #93 was perfectly ok and able to rejoin – but the push for pole looked unlikely. He did get going again but there wasn’t another fast one in the locker, and neither could anyone else improve, leaving the final threat to Acosta.
Up in the first two sectors by a good margin, it was down to hundredths in sector three. Could he hold it to the line? He was pushing on, but a huge moment in the final sector saw a few tenths go begging, forcing him to settle for seventh.
Austrian GP Grid
Bezzecchi takes pole for the first time since India in 2023, with Alex Marquez looking to bounce back from Brno in second on the grid. He also, however, has a Long Lap penalty to serve. Bagnaia, undefeated at the Red Bull Ring since 2022, starts third.
Fourth is where Marc Marquez launches from as he aims to stand on the top step in Spielberg for the first time, with Bastianini alongside in P5 and rookie Fermin Aldeguer(BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) locking out Row 2. Acosta starts seventh ahead of Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) and Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse Racing MotoGP), with Joan Mir (Honda HRC Castrol) completing the top ten.

Coming UP on super Saturday: Tissot Sprint
Aprilia haven’t won here. Bagnaia hasn’t been beaten here since he was still a rider looking for his first MotoGP World Championship. Marc Marquez has always been beaten here. There’s plenty on the line in Spielberg and the points are first in play at 15:00 (UTC +2), so don’t miss it!
Marc Marquez led MotoGP World Championship Free Practice 2 Saturday morning at Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, in Austria. Riding his Lenovo Ducati Desmosedici GP25 on spec Michelin tires, the six-time MotoGP Champion turned a lap time of 1:28.751 to lead the field of 21 riders.
His teammate, Francesco Bagnaia, was the best of the rest with a 1:29.077.
Pedro Acosta was third at 1:29.115 on his Red Bull KTM Factory Racing RC16.
Marco Bezzecchi finished the session fourth with a 1:29.231 on his Aprilia Racing RS-GP25.
Alex Marquez got fifth on his BK8 Gresini Ducati Desmosedici GP24 with a lap time of 1:29.231.
Aron Canet was quickest during Moto2 World Championship Free Practice 2 Saturday morning at Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, in Austria. Riding his Pirelli-shod Fantic Racing Lino Sonego Kalex on the 2.7-mile (4.35 km) track, the Spaniard recorded a 1:33.216 to lead the field of 29 riders.
Albert Arenas was the best of the rest with a 1:33.225 on his ITALJET Gresini Kalex.
Manuel Gonzalez was third-fastest with a 1:33.266 on his LIQUIMOLY Dynavolt IntactGP Kalex.
American Joe Roberts finished Saturday morning’s practice session 14th with a best time of 1:33.531 on his OnlyFans American Racing Team Kalex.
Maximo Quiles led Moto3 World Championship Free Practice 2 Saturday morning, at Red Bull Ring – Spielberg, in Austria. Quiles used his Pirelli-shod CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team KTM to lap the 2.7-mile (4.35 km) track in 1:39.639, which led the field of 26 riders.
Angel Piqueras was second-best with a time of 1:39.787 on his FRINSA – MT Helmet – MSI KTM.
Valentin Perrone, piloting his Red Bull KTM Tech3, claimed the third and final spot on the front with a lap time of 1:39.805.
If the first qualifying session of the weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is any indication, it seems as though Cameron Beaubier and Bobby Fong smell blood in the water.
Tytlers Cycle Racing’s Beaubier and Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Fong started the weekend first and second in Q1, the pair separated by just .121 of a second, and half a second faster than Fong’s teammate Jake Gagne.
Fong has the hot hand with four-straight MotoAmerica Superbike wins coming into this weekend’s seventh round. He trails Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati’s defending class champion Josh Herrin by five points after Herrin’s race-two crash at VIRginia International Raceway two weeks ago.
Beaubier’s title hopes were also bolstered by Herrin’s miscue, and the five-time MotoAmerica Superbike Champion is back in the hunt, 16 points behind Herrin and his Ducati.
Beaubier’s best of 1:24.176 on Friday was .537 of a second off Ben Spies’ Mid-Ohio lap record of 1:23.639, which was set by the Texan and his factory Yoshimura Suzuki in 2008.
With Beaubier, Fong, and Gagne making up the provisional front row, the second row was led by Real Steel Honda’s Hayden Gillim, with the Kentuckian .717 of a second off Beaubier’s best. Those four were the only riders to crack the 1:25 barrier with their 1:24s.
Herrin ended the day fifth-fastest and .943 of a second slower than Beaubier’s quick lap. The championship points leader and defending champion was .728 of a second faster than Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Sean Dylan Kelly.
Kelly’s teammate Richie Escalante was seventh, with Jones Honda’s Ashton Yates, BPR Racing Yamaha’s Bryce Kornbau, and FLO4LAW/SBU Racing’s Benjamin Smith rounding out the top 10 qualifiers on a sunny Friday in Ohio.
Motovation Supersport – Jacobsen, Barely
As has become the norm, Motovation Supersport Q1 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course was a Rahal Ducati Moto w/XPEL’s PJ Jacobsen/Strack Racing’s Mathew Scholtz battle with Celtic/Economy Lube+Tire/Warhorse HSBK Ducati’s Cameron Petersen keeping watch from close range.
When the 30-minute session was complete, it was Jacobsen on top with his 1:27.032, which was .202 of a second better than his rival and championship points leader Scholtz. Petersen was .634 of a second behind Jacobsen to complete the provisional front row heading into tomorrow morning’s Q2. The top three were the only riders to lap in the 1:27s.
Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Tyler Scott was fourth, a tick over a second adrift of Jacobsen and just .107 of a second ahead of Scholtz’s teammate Blake Davis, with Rahal Ducati Moto w/Roller Die’s Corey Alexander completing the provisional second row.
Vision Wheel M4 Suzuki’s Max Van, Team Hammer’s ageless Larry Pegram, Rahal Ducati Moto w/XPEL’s Kayla Yaakov, and the returning-to-racing Brandon Paasch, on the 3D Motorsports Suzuki, rounded out the top 10.
Super Hooligan National Championship – First Blood To Rispoli
Twenty-two points separate the top three in the Mission Super Hooligan National Championship going into this weekend’s final two races, with Cory West leading Jake Lewis by 16 points and James Rispoli by 22.
Of the three, it was Rispoli drawing first blood in Friday afternoon’s Q1 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, with the KWR Harley-Davidson-backed Floridian taking the top spot with his 1:29.575, which was almost a half-second faster than the next quickest rider.
The rider in second wasn’t West, and it wasn’t Lewis. It was Giaccmoto Yamaha Racing’s Dominic Doyle who came closest to Rispoli with his 1:30.060.
Then came the first of the Saddlemen Race Development riders with an almost-back-to-fitness Jake Lewis third-fastest and .521 of a second off Rispoli’s best. His time was just .051 of a second better than his championship-leading teammate West. The third of the Saddlemen Race Development Harley-Davidson Pan America’s rounded out the top five in the capable hands of Travis Wyman.
Stock 1000 – Hondas A Go-Go
Back in the day, the annual AMA Superbike races at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course were always sponsored by Honda. Real Steel Honda’s JD Beach and Jones Honda’s Ashton Yates showed that red is alive and well in Ohio with a resounding one-two in Friday’s Q1 on their Honda CBR1000RR-R SPs.
Beach, hot off his two wins at VIR two weeks ago, led Q1 with his 1:26.078, just .379 of a second ahead of Yates. OrangeCat Racing’s Jayson Uribe was the first non-Honda in third on his BMW M 1000 RR.
BPR Racing Yamaha’s Bryce Kornbau ended up fourth-fastest, .796 of a second slower than Beach’s best and .013 of a second ahead of championship points leader Andrew Lee and his OrangeCat Racing BMW.
Edge Racing’s Jason Waters, Castrol/Lamkin Racing’s Nolan Lamkin, RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Suzuki’s Rocco Landers, BPR Racing’s Deion Campbell, and The Bike Experience USA’s Eziah Davis rounded out the top 10.
Taylor Knapp ended up 11th in his first-ever outing on the PS2 Racing Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory.
Mission King Of The Baggers – Gillim The Untouchable
RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson’s Hayden Gillim put the Mission King Of The Baggers class on notice. He ain’t messin’ around.
Still hurting from his two mechanical DNFs while leading the two Bagger races at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Gillim seems hellbent on taking it out on his competition at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. At least thus far.
Gillim led Friday’s Q2 session with his lap of 1:28.019, which was .621 of a second clear of his young teammate Rocco Landers.
Harley-Davidson x Dynojet Factory Racing’s James Rispoli was third-fastest with his 1:28.722, just .286 of a second ahead of defending class champion Troy Herfoss and his S&S/Indian Motorcycle Indian Challenger.
Q1 was stopped when Bradley Smith had a big crash on his Harley-Davidson x Dynojet Factory Racing Road Glide with some five minutes to go in the session. A shaken Smith walked away and still ended the session fifth-fastest, .274 of a second ahead of his teammate and runaway championship leader Kyle Wyman.

Spirits are high for Rahal Ducati Moto as the team kicked off its home race weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with strong performances across the board, including a new Supersport lap record.
PJ Jacobsen set the tone early, topping both Friday sessions on the No. 15 XPEL Ducati Panigale V2. After going quickest in practice, Jacobsen stormed to provisional pole in Qualifying 1 with a 1:27.032 lap—breaking the previous lap record. Confident and focused, Jacobsen will look to push the pace even further in Saturday’s final qualifying.
Corey Alexander delivered a solid start aboard the No. 23 Roller Die + Forming Panigale V2, going ninth in practice before improving to sixth in Q1 with a 1:28.260. His pace and consistency are trending upward as he aims to climb further up the grid for Race 1.
Kayla Yaakov impressed in the morning session, taking fourth in practice on the No. 19 XPEL Ducati Panigale V2. A setup change before qualifying left her ninth on the timesheets, but the crew is confident in overnight adjustments to bring her back into contention for a top-five grid spot.
With a strong opening day in front of the home crowd, Rahal Ducati Moto carries momentum into Saturday’s sessions. The fight for pole positions and podiums at Mid-Ohio kicks off tomorrow.
Qualifying 2 begins at 9:05 am EST, and the green flag waves to begin Race 1 at 2:10 pm.

All-in-all, it was a pretty good day. We’ll try to make some changes, go quicker tomorrow, and have a good race with all three riders.”

Compliance status
We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience,
regardless of circumstance and ability.
To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level.
These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible
to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.
This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific
disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.
Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML,
adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.
If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email
Screen-reader and keyboard navigation
Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with
screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive
a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements,
alongside console screenshots of code examples:
Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website.
In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels;
descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups),
and others. Additionally, the background process scans all the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag
for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology.
To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on
as soon as they enter the website.
These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
Disability profiles supported in our website
Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.
Browser and assistive technology compatibility
We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers).
