Spartanburg, S.C. – The BMW Group in the U.S. has pledged a donation of $1 million to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to support in the recovery efforts after the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. Catastrophic winds and rain hit the southeast, including the Carolinas, causing widespread damage and historic flooding. Roads were destroyed by the floods, and landslides left entire communities completely isolated from outside aid for days. The American Red Cross and thousands of volunteers are working tirelessly to care for people impacted by this disaster.
“This donation will help the Red Cross give assistance to many in the Carolinas who are in need, including some of our own associates,” said Dr. Robert Engelhorn, president and CEO of BMW Manufacturing. “Thousands of our BMW family lost power, many had their homes damaged by falling trees, and some had their homes swept away by floods. We offer our thanks and support to the Red Cross and many volunteers who are working so hard on the recovery effort.”
BMW Manufacturing is located in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, where it employs more than 11,000 people and supports thousands of additional jobs through its supplier network, which includes the Carolinas and Georgia.
Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) will return to Italy after the Thai GP to undergo left shoulder surgery after further examination. The Italian will also miss the Malaysian GP and Valencia GP, with rehabilitation times yet to be evaluated.
Di Giannantonio suffered a crash during Friday afternoon’s Practice session at the Austrian GP, resulting in a dislocated left shoulder. The #49 will fly to Rome and be operated on following the race in Buriram to best prepare for the 2025 season.
PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Capturing podium finishes in each round of the series, American Sammy Halbert captured the 2024 FIM Flat Track World Championship and became the first non-European to win the title.Entering the final round of the season in Debrecen, Hungary, with a seven-point lead, Halbert needed to finish just third or better to capture the elusive international title for the Americans. Halbert landed second on the podium during the round and brought home the ultimate crown stateside — while defending champion Ervin Krajčovič claimed victory in Hungary but finished second in the overall standings.
“We’re incredibly proud of Sammy Halbert, as his competitive drive and racing prowess led him to this outstanding accomplishment,” AMA Director of Racing Mike Pelletier said. “Sammy represented his country to the fullest and achieved a remarkable feat for American flat track competitors.”
Halbert outlasted Krajčovič by finishing the season with 136 points, just four points more than the Czech rider. The Graham, Wash., native registered four top two finishes across the final four races of the season, including victories in Meissen, Germany, and Kings Lynn, U.K.

AHRMA Two Stroke Racers win Cash Prizes at Barber Vintage Festival
(October 16, 2024 Knoxville, TN) The sight and sound of two-stroke race bikes returned to the 19th Barber Vintage Festival. And, Kenny Roberts was there to cheer them on!
More than 20 two-stroke machines ranging from 125 to 500ccs participated in the Open Two Stroke class during the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association race event at Barber Motorsports Park on Saturday, October 12. The event was part of the Bridgestone Tires AHRMA National Roadracing series
The majority of the entrants were on 250cc, followed by 125cc and just one 500cc machine. The 250s dominated the field taking the top podium spots. Ralph Staropoli, on his 2002 Honda RS250, took the overall win followed by Oliver Hutchison, on his 2007 Yamaha TZ250, and Sven Bley, on his 1997 Honda RS250 NX5.
Ralph Staropoli organized and raised the sponsorship money from a group of individual AHRMA racers as well as from Iconic Motorbikes, Comstock Energy, Rising Sun Cycles and MojoYamaha for a total purse of $6,000 which was paid out for Saturday’s races.

The Grand Prix Commission has approved sporting and technical regulation updates for Moto2™ and Moto3™ in 2025. One is the session format.
After the success of the new format in the MotoGP™ class providing a balance between entry to Q2 and track time for teams and riders to work on setup, the session structure for Moto2™ and Moto3 will change in 2025 to establish consistency across the classes. This will give Moto2™ and Moto3™ two Free Practice sessions that do not count towards entry to Q2 and one Practice session on Friday afternoon that will decide the entrants to Q2.
Another is if it rains on the grid. The rain on grid procedure for Moto2™ and Moto3™ will be brought in line with MotoGP™, so in case of rain on the grid in Moto2™ or Moto3™, bikes will now be pushed into pit lane to make adjustments.
In the technical regulations, the Moto3™ chassis and engine price cap has been adjusted, as well as the specification freeze in Moto3™. Finally, manufacturers with concessions in Moto2™ will also get more test days.
While other race organizations are finishing up their series across the U.S., CVMA is just getting started. EFFORTLESSLY COOL DESIGN
The new, sportier fuel tank is deeply sculpted, with chiseled side panels and stylized throttle body covers, introducing more purposeful, dynamic lines. The engine casings are leaner, the silencer shorter and the headlight unit more compact.
The detailing on the Bonneville engine is as authentic and beautiful as ever too, and the bright machined cooling fins on the cylinder head and finned header clamps are joined by black-wrapped stainless steel exhaust headers, shorter, upswept silencers and polished end caps. This look extends to details across the bike, including a new aluminum flip-up filler cap on the tank, and a simpler design for the heel guards and footpegs.

EASY AGILE RIDE
The Speed Twin 900’s capable modern chassis delivers a fun, supple and confidence-inspiring ride. High quality Marzocchi upside-down front forks, paired to twin Marzocchi piggy-back rear suspension units with preload adjustment ensures responsive handling. Mounted to a new stiffer and lighter aluminum swingarm, delivering more precise body control and a ride that is as laid back, or dynamic, as the rider desires. The slightly reduced rear wheel travel from 4.72” to 4.33” (120mm to 110mm) improves control without sacrificing comfort.
The new wheels are fitted with Michelin Road Classic tires and coupled with a powerful and progressive Triumph branded four-piston radial caliper, mounted to a larger 12.6” (320mm) front disc, helping make the Speed Twin 900 brake and change direction even more keenly.
The riding position has been updated to be natural and now offers more legroom, with a fun and engaging feel. The bench seat has a new shape to complement the narrower rear frame, giving riders a narrower stand-over. There’s also an accessory low seat available that reduces the height by .79” (20mm), from 30.71” (780mm) to 29.92” (760mm), without compromising comfort.

The Daytona 200 Monument Open House Is Being Cancelled
Cristy Klamfoth and Al Charles announced Monday that due to the ongoing beach-front cleanup activities from hurricane Milton the Daytona 200 open house scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, 2024 has been cancelled.
“We regret having to cancel our first fall open house but after reviewing the clean-up activities over the weekend and this morning we feel it is best to cancel the scheduled open house at the monument,” said Al Charles. “We will be at the Monument doing some clean-up on Wednesday and to greet anyone who did not see the cancellation. Our annual March gathering will not be affected.”
AHRMA’s two-day Vintage Festival drew nearly 600 race entries on Saturday and featured packed grids on Sunday as well, with 19 races on Saturday and another 18 on Sunday. AHRMA’s classes have expanded in recent years, and this year’s event attracted front-running MotoAmerica Next Generation Supersport machines and cutting-edge electric racebikes as well as a wide range of vintage motorcycles.

(October 16, 2024 Knoxville, TN) The sight and sound of two-stroke race bikes returned to the 19th Barber Vintage Festival. And, Kenny Roberts was there to cheer them on!
More than 20 two-stroke machines ranging from 125 to 500ccs participated in the Open Two Stroke class during the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association race event at Barber Motorsports Park on Saturday, October 12. The event was part of the Bridgestone Tires AHRMA National Roadracing series
The majority of the entrants were on 250cc, followed by 125cc and just one 500cc machine. The 250s dominated the field taking the top podium spots. Ralph Staropoli, on his 2002 Honda RS250, took the overall win followed by Oliver Hutchison, on his 2007 Yamaha TZ250, and Sven Bley, on his 1997 Honda RS250 NX5.
Ralph Staropoli organized and raised the sponsorship money from a group of individual AHRMA racers as well as from Iconic Motorbikes, Comstock Energy, Rising Sun Cycles and MojoYamaha for a total purse of $6,000 which was paid out for Saturday’s races.

The Grand Prix Commission has approved sporting and technical regulation updates for Moto2™ and Moto3™ in 2025. One is the session format.
After the success of the new format in the MotoGP™ class providing a balance between entry to Q2 and track time for teams and riders to work on setup, the session structure for Moto2™ and Moto3 will change in 2025 to establish consistency across the classes. This will give Moto2™ and Moto3™ two Free Practice sessions that do not count towards entry to Q2 and one Practice session on Friday afternoon that will decide the entrants to Q2.
Another is if it rains on the grid. The rain on grid procedure for Moto2™ and Moto3™ will be brought in line with MotoGP™, so in case of rain on the grid in Moto2™ or Moto3™, bikes will now be pushed into pit lane to make adjustments.
In the technical regulations, the Moto3™ chassis and engine price cap has been adjusted, as well as the specification freeze in Moto3™. Finally, manufacturers with concessions in Moto2™ will also get more test days.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — (Oct. 14, 2024) – Many businesses that traditionally welcome guests for Biketoberfest® throughout the Daytona Beach area will be ready to host visitors for the 32nd edition of the motorcycle rally scheduled for this Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 17-20. Clean-up following Hurricane Milton is in full swing with many accommodations, restaurants and event facilities preparing to host aspects of the four-day schedule. With power and Internet restoration underway and water levels receding in many key venues, many local businesses are already up and running, with more opening daily.

Triumph’s Speed Twin 900 is significantly updated for 2025, including a major styling refresh, a significantly upgraded chassis and extra technology.
Delivering a much more contemporary feel and effortless agility, the new Speed Twin 900 now has upside-down forks and matching sport-style mudguard and fork protectors at the front. At the rear a new fabricated aluminum swingarm and piggy-back rear suspension units are complemented by a narrower rear frame with a slimmer mudguard and compact tail-light.

EFFORTLESSLY COOL DESIGN
The new, sportier fuel tank is deeply sculpted, with chiseled side panels and stylized throttle body covers, introducing more purposeful, dynamic lines. The engine casings are leaner, the silencer shorter and the headlight unit more compact.
The detailing on the Bonneville engine is as authentic and beautiful as ever too, and the bright machined cooling fins on the cylinder head and finned header clamps are joined by black-wrapped stainless steel exhaust headers, shorter, upswept silencers and polished end caps. This look extends to details across the bike, including a new aluminum flip-up filler cap on the tank, and a simpler design for the heel guards and footpegs.
The new Speed Twin 900 has three distinctive color options. Riders can choose between a sporty Pure White scheme with bright blue and orange stripes on the tank, a moody Phantom Black tank, with dark grey stripes and gold accents, or a classy Aluminum Silver design with a splash of red framing the Triumph logo.
EASY AGILE RIDE
The Speed Twin 900’s capable modern chassis delivers a fun, supple and confidence-inspiring ride. High quality Marzocchi upside-down front forks, paired to twin Marzocchi piggy-back rear suspension units with preload adjustment ensures responsive handling. Mounted to a new stiffer and lighter aluminum swingarm, delivering more precise body control and a ride that is as laid back, or dynamic, as the rider desires. The slightly reduced rear wheel travel from 4.72” to 4.33” (120mm to 110mm) improves control without sacrificing comfort.
The new wheels are fitted with Michelin Road Classic tires and coupled with a powerful and progressive Triumph branded four-piston radial caliper, mounted to a larger 12.6” (320mm) front disc, helping make the Speed Twin 900 brake and change direction even more keenly.
The riding position has been updated to be natural and now offers more legroom, with a fun and engaging feel. The bench seat has a new shape to complement the narrower rear frame, giving riders a narrower stand-over. There’s also an accessory low seat available that reduces the height by .79” (20mm), from 30.71” (780mm) to 29.92” (760mm), without compromising comfort.
CHARACTERFUL BONNEVILLE TWIN
The characterful 900cc Bonneville twin ensures that responsive performance is always accessible, with peak power of 64 bhp (65 PS) at 7,500rpm, and lots of torque across the rev range; with 59 lb-ft (80 Nm) available at just 3,800rpm. That performance is delivered with the efficiency and precision of a fully ride-by-wire system.
CONFIDENCE INSPIRING TECHNOLOGY
The aim was to deliver more functionality while preserving that clean, heritage-inspired design and pure riding experience. Helping to tailor that torque-laden power delivery are two riding modes, ‘Road’ and ‘Rain’, with the latter delivering a softer throttle response for a more secure feeling when riding in the wet. Both systems are now lean-sensitive – with Optimized Cornering ABS and Traction Control fitted as standard.
PREMIUM SPECIFICATION
The new instruments introduce greater functionality and feature a large, bright LCD display for revs, speed and gear, with an integrated TFT display to provide extra information, like the rider mode. This full color screen is compatible with the accessory heated grips, as well as the Bluetooth Connectivity module, which brings turn-by-turn navigation, and the ability to view and control phone calls and music from your phone.
Cruise Control is now also available as an accessory, providing Speed Twin riders with greater comfort and convenience, particularly on longer rides. A USB-C socket is mounted on the side of the unit too, providing convenient charging mobile devices.
With its minimalist single dial design, these new instruments help to maintain the sleek style of the Speed Twin 900 while making more riding information available, in a way that’s clear and easy to read.

The Daytona 200 Monument Open House Is Being Cancelled
Cristy Klamfoth and Al Charles announced Monday that due to the ongoing beach-front cleanup activities from hurricane Milton the Daytona 200 open house scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, 2024 has been cancelled.
“We regret having to cancel our first fall open house but after reviewing the clean-up activities over the weekend and this morning we feel it is best to cancel the scheduled open house at the monument,” said Al Charles. “We will be at the Monument doing some clean-up on Wednesday and to greet anyone who did not see the cancellation. Our annual March gathering will not be affected.”

AHRMA’s two-day Vintage Festival drew nearly 600 race entries on Saturday and featured packed grids on Sunday as well, with 19 races on Saturday and another 18 on Sunday. AHRMA’s classes have expanded in recent years, and this year’s event attracted front-running MotoAmerica Next Generation Supersport machines and cutting-edge electric racebikes as well as a wide range of vintage motorcycles.

Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments
Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over seven different coloring options.
Animations – person with epilepsy can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers).
