MotoAmerica: Clark Joins Travis Wyman Racing For Mini Cup

Chris Clark joins Travis Wyman Racing for 2021 MotoAmerica season

14-year-old Virginian to compete in all four MotoAmerica Mini Cup by Motul rounds

Travis Wyman Racing will be a two-rider team for the remainder of the 2021 season. The team welcomes to its ranks Chris Clark, 14, of Fairfax, Va., who will compete at all four of this year’s MotoAmerica Mini Cup by Motul rounds in the Ohvale 160 and Ohvale 190 classes.

Clark is both an accomplished mini road racer and an established social media influencer. He kicked off his mini road racing career at age 12; has amassed more than 15 wins and more than 35 podiums in about 50 race starts; and has more than 220,000 followers on TikTok. Clark competed in the 2020 MotoAmerica Mini Cup Series, finishing 18th in the 160 Class standings.

“I’m happy to have Chris on board as a member of the Travis Wyman Racing team,” Travis Wyman said. “I think Chris has a very bright future ahead of him in road racing, and I’m looking forward to working with Chris and his family at MotoAmerica’s Mini Cup rounds this year.”

The MotoAmerica Mini Cup by Motul gets underway at the next MotoAmerica round, which takes place June 11-13 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. The remaining three rounds are scheduled for June 25-27 at Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Wash.; Aug. 13-15 at Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Wampum, Pa.; and Sept. 17-19 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala.

“I’m so excited to be joining Travis Wyman Racing for the 2021 season,” Clark said. “I think racing alongside Travis will make me a better rider, and I can’t wait for the Mini Cup season to get started.”

Clark’s Ohvales will run a similar paint scheme to Wyman’s 2020 BMW S 1000 RR, and Clark’s leathers are patterned after Wyman’s. In addition to competing in the Mini Cup, Clark plans to continue racing in his local mini road racing series, which include DMV MiniGP, NJ MiniGP and the Sandy Hook Speedway Mini Moto Series.

Clark’s sponsors for the 2021 season include Bison Leathers, Karn’s Performance, Bimola Helmets, TechSpec Tank Grips, MoTool, Factory Effex, GoPro and Slick Products.

MotoGP: Gardner To Tech3 KTM Factory Racing In 2022

GARDNER CONFIRMED FOR 2022 TECH3 KTM FACTORY RACING MOTOGP™ SADDLE

2021 MotoGP news

Grand Prix winning Moto2™ star Remy Gardner will move into the MotoGP class next season and steer one of the Tech3 KTM Factory Racing RC16s as he continues his upward trajectory at world championship level.

Gardner, the current Moto2 championship leader, Italian Grand Prix victor and owner of five podiums from six events this season as part of Aki Ajo’s Red Bull KTM Ajo squad, has signed a contract to make his MotoGP debut next year and completes the final step on the KTM GP Academy career ‘ladder’ by joining his former team.

The 23-year-old’s potential has been evident through an education that involved one term in Moto3 and five in Moto2. He was finally snared by KTM to round-off advanced phases of his development under Ajo’s watchful eye and in the crew that has pushed both the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing athletes – Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira – to triumph in MotoGP.

Remy made his GP debut in San Marino in 2014. He first stood on the Moto2 podium in 2019 at the Grand Prix of Argentina and has progressed to be one of the main protagonists of the division. After his success at Mugello last weekend he now holds two Moto2 winner’s trophies and fronts the standings by six points.

Gardner will fire-up the Tech3 KTM RC16 for the first round of the 2022 season, almost three decades after his father, Wayne, retired from the premier class of Grand Prix racing in 1992.

Remy Gardner: “I’m extremely happy that KTM have given me this opportunity. It’s a dream come true for me and what we have worked for up until this point. It’s an incredible chance for me and I cannot wait to ride the bike. I just want to thank KTM for believing in me. Right now we need to focus on finishing 2021 in a strong way. I want to thank also everyone who has supported me to reach MotoGP. We’re just getting started.”

Pit Beirer, KTM Motorsport Director: “It’s a real pleasure for us to bring Remy to MotoGP next season because we knew about his speed and ability for Moto2 and he has confirmed that potential. We believe there is much more to come from him and it’s important he has this opportunity to keep growing. Remy is a typical racer. He’s super-determined and never gives up. He’s exciting to watch and we’re looking forward to working with him in this next step. Again, we’re also showing that the KTM GP Academy can give the right opportunity for riders that want to go all the way.”

Hervé Poncharal, Tech3 KTM Factory Racing Team Principal: “We are very proud, happy and confident to welcome Remy. We believe he will be a strong asset to the KTM MotoGP line up and I think having taken this decision is now going to help Remy to focus 100% on his Moto2 World Championship and will also help us, the Tech3 KTM Factory Racing Team to focus on our 2021 season. So, welcome back, Remy, keep on pushing and come to join us for your MotoGP adventure in 2022!”

AHRMA: Joyce Wins Vintage Cup Races At Heartland Motorsports Park

The 2021 Bridgestone American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) National Historic Cup Roadrace Series Vintage Cup, which highlights the 500 Premier Class, is turning into a high-speed history lesson for racing fans.

The latest lesson, taught May 29 and 30 at the inaugural AHRMA Classic MotoFest® in the Heartland at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, Kansas was: BMWs are still highly competitive on a road racing track.

These rounds of the Vintage Cup sponsored by NYC Norton (nycnorton.com) and Roadracing World (roadracingworld.com) had the most entries so far this year with 13 machines pre-entered.  With Topeka sitting virtually in the center of the country, racers traveled from all four corners of the lower 48 to meet in the middle.

Tim Joyce won both Saturday and Sunday on John Turner’s 1962 BMW R-50.  It was Joyce’s first time racing the air-cooled, horizontally opposed twin.  The victories demonstrated the diversity of motorcycles racing in the 2021 Vintage Cup.  Previous rounds have been won by British and Japanese machines.

The weather was predicted to be overcast for the inaugural but as racing started on Saturday, the track was dry with the promise of clearing skies.  By Race 7, pearls of sunshine were glinting off aluminum tanks in the 500 Premier class.

Prior to the race on Saturday, Joyce shared with Kenny Cummings of NYC Norton, “It’s a beautiful bike but down on power. If it handles, then I may have a chance.”

At the highest level of racing in AHRMA, Joyce couldn’t afford to make mistakes, and his performance all weekend was perfect.

In Saturday’s race, Wes Orloff got a great start and held the lead with Andrew Mauk in second, followed by Joyce. Orloff hit a false neutral causing him to pull straight through the chicane.  He came back on the track but it was too late, and Joyce was able to take the checkered flag with Mauk in second and Dave Roper bringing up third.

On Sunday, Orloff again took the lead at the start with Mauk in second then further behind was Joyce.  Orloff held the lead up until the white flag lap, and after having set the fast lap in the race, Orloff lost focus when distracted by a downed racer, causing him to take a field excursion in the chicane in a repeat of Saturday.  He came back onto the track and connected with Mauk, making it possible for Joyce to drive through and take the checkered. Mauk placed second behind Joyce, with Orloff taking third on the podium.

“Dale Coffman built a bike capable of winning, but I didn’t get it done this weekend,” Orloff said.  “Big congrats to Tim and John with the BMW, and I look forward to the next round.”

Mauk is the current points leader riding Keith Leighty’s 1969 Honda, with Orloff in second competing on Dale Coffman’s 1967 Honda.  Of note, Roper, bumping up from 350GP, is wringing the neck off of his Carl Engellenner-tuned 1968 Harley Davidson Sprint Special.

“I was so proud to stand on the skybridge and look down on all those beautiful Grand Prix bikes lining up for the start,” said Cummings.  “This is proof of concept and the Vintage Cup is a success.”

The 2021 Vintage Cup Trophy will be awarded to the 500 Premier class winner at select events including Roebling Road, Heartland Motorsports Park, New Jersey Motorsports Park, Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca and Barber Motorsports Park.  Race dates and event registration links are available at: ahrma.org/schedules-results.

FSBK-FE: DOUBLES OR NOTHING ON THE LÉDENON CIRCUIT

05/30/21

Ledenon (30)

This weekend of 29 and 30 May, the Ledenon circuit hosted the 3 rd stage of the France Superbike Championship organized by the MC Lédenon under the aegis of the FFM. In each category, the leaders achieved doubles! Find out who were behind the weekend’s exploits.

SUPERBIKE

COURSE 1: DEBISE IN SOLITAIRE

Author of a good start, Valentin DEBISE (Kawasaki Twist Ring Racing – Dunlop) sets the tone from the first seconds. Unstoppable, he applies the same strategy as in the last races: take off! The paddock thus finds the rider of the Kawasaki n ° 153 in the lead at the finish, more than 6 seconds ahead of the other competitors.

Launched in pursuit of him, Mathieu GINES (Yamaha Tech Solutions – Michelin) resisted in the first laps against Alan TECHER (BMW Tecmas – Michelin) who moved to 3rd place after a very good start from 6th place on the grid. The hierarchy changes in the 14 th round, TECHER elbowing and relegates GINES in 3 rd position. At the end of a game that continues until the last laps, it is finally the reigning French Champion who stands out in second place ahead of TECHER, 3 rd .

Axel MAURIN (Yamaha CMS – Michelin) was hit with a real blow! In 4 th place until the 19 th lap, the CMS team rider pulled straight into the gravel trap and lost a considerable amount of time. He nevertheless managed to get back on track and finished 13 th . For its part, Morgan BERCHET (Yamaha – Dunlop) will grant the 4 th place after having faced Kenny Foray (BMW Tecmas – Michelin). The driver of BMW n ° 78, determined to take the first place, seemed to have some problems and slowed down in the second part of the race. Kenny Foray will still wins an honorable 5 th place after having resisted Sébastien SUCHET (Kawasaki – Dunlop), 6th .

Already very fast during testing, the Challenger, Martin RENAUDIN (Yamaha Motorcycles & GPAddict – Pirelli) took the 7 th place ahead of Gregory LEBLANC (Ducati TWR – Pirelli) and Matthew Lussiana (Yamaha – Dunlop).

In Superbike Challengers pilot, William ANTIGA (Honda – Michelin) and Alan AGOGUE (Yamaha – Dunlop) respectively 12 th and 14 th in the scratch, complete the podium. Note, the resident of Team Le Mans Sud Guillaume RAYMOND (Suzuki LMS – Bridgestone) and the winner of the European Bike 2020

Leo Challamel (BMW – Dunlop) finished 4 th and 5 th .

RACE 2: NEW DOUBLE FOR DEBISE

Would the scenario repeat itself for Valentin DEBISE? His opponents try to answer in the negative! Mathieu GINES remains in the leader’s wheel in the first laps. Then, in the 5th lap, Kenny FORAY takes the ascendancy over the reigning French Champion who then finds himself in the sights of Alan TECHER.

Halfway through the race, DEBISE is moving less than a second from FORAY. GINES, meanwhile, manages his race in 3 rd rank and TECHER the 4 th . Despite the efforts and the implementation of the pilot 78, Debise finally widens the gap and is essential for a 6 th place win in MotoGP. FORAY confirms an honorable second place ahead of GINES and TECHER.

The gain of 5 th place, on the other hand, stages a battle between Morgan BERCHET, Gregory LEBLANC, Sébastien SUCHET and Axel MAURIN. The quartet finished in the same order with BERCHET in 5 th row ahead of LEBLANC, SUCHET and MAURIN.

Rigorous, the current leader of the Superbike Challenger Martin RENAUDIN ranks 9 th in the scratch and first in its class. Author of the same result as in the morning, Guillaume ANTIGA wins the points for second place ahead of Alan AGOGUE. Note Clement STOLL (Kawasaki – Dunlop) and Bryan Chuat (Yamaha – Pirelli) finished 4 th and 5 th in the Challenger category.

In the provisional, DEBISE is in the lead with 154 points ahead of GINES (112 points) and BERCHET (74 points).

As a challenger, RENAUDIN is in the lead with 145 points ahead of ANTIGA (124 points) and AGOGUE (97 points).

SUPERSPORT 600

RACE 1: DEBISE ALWAYS IN FRONT

Despite his very good time during practice, Valentin DEBISE (Kawasaki – Michelin) encountered strong resistance from the young Challenger Tom BERCOT (Yamaha – Pirelli) who applied continuous pressure on the Albigensian rider for a large part of the race. race! However, the latter relaxes his effort in the last laps in front of the frantic pace of DEBISE which is illustrated in this first race. BERCOT therefore finished second.

In 3 rd place, the Challenger Ludovic CAUCHI (Yamaha – Pirelli) fails to keep pace with the two leaders. However, it manages its management and confirms the 3 rd place on the podium, synonymous with “big points” for the general classification.

Despite a good start to race in 4 th place, the pilot Challenger Matthew GREGORIO (Yamaha – Pirelli) is penalized because of too noisy machine. He then finds himself obliged to make a passage through the pit lane and concluded the race in 7 th spot.

The foot of the podium is contested by two SSP600 riders. After a long battle, finally found Hugo CLERE (Yamaha – Pirelli) in 4 th place ahead Enzo DE LA VEGA (Yamaha – Pirelli), relegated to the 5 th rank. Effective during tests, Kevin LONGEARET (Yamaha – Dunlop) wins the 6 th place in race.

The top 3 Challenger consisting of Tom BERCOT Ludovic CAUCHI and Matthew GREGORIO, the paddock, however, notes the strong performance of Kilian AEBI (Suzuki – Dunlop) pilot from Cups of France Promosport, which ranks 8 th in the scratch and 4 th of its category.

RACE 2: DEBISE AT THE SQUARE

The wild flight of Valentin DEBISE from 2nd place on the starting grid is to be put into perspective with the missed start of poleman and Challenger pilot Tom BERCOT. The Albigensian takes the lead in the first lap while BERCOT, who saw a few drivers pass in front of him in the first corner, must increase his efforts to come and wedge his wheels behind the other Challenger Ludovic CAUCHI, 2nd at the end first round. BERCOT finally takes the ascendancy over the rider of Yamaha n ° 74 and tries to join DEBISE. This will not happen: the rider of Kawasaki n ° 153 drives the point home and wins in front of BERCOT.

CAUCHI his side, is found in the clutches of his colleague Challenger Matthew GREGORIO and fails to contain his opponent: he goes down to 4 th place. Yet in the last round, CAUCHI his attack on the driver No. 24 and recovers the 3 rd spot leaving GREGORIO settle for the podium.

Note Enzo DE LA VEGA and Hugo CLERE battled for 3 rd place alongside GREGORIO and CAUCHI before falling in the 11 th round. The pilot Challenger Kilian AEBI inherits the 5 th place in front of the driver SSP600 Dylan THOUSAND (Yamaha – Pirelli).

The top 3 Challenger is therefore made up of BERCOT, CAUCHI and GREGORIO.

In the provisional, DEBISE is in the lead with 148 points ahead of CAUCHI (117 points) and BERCOT (99 points).

In Challenger, CAUCHI is in the lead with 142 points ahead of BERCOT (134 points) and GREGORIO (78 points).

GRAND PRIX OBJECTIVE- PRE MOTO 3

RACE 1: MIZERA IN FULL FORM

Following his domination during practice, the young Amaury MIZERA (Beon Yamaha) made a faultless race and won after having outdistanced his main opponent: Mattéo ROMAN (KTM RC4R). The latter, also too fast for the rest of the OGP field, consolidates the 2 nd place with more than 15 seconds ahead of Jules BERCOT (Beon Honda), 3 rd .

Mathis FARGIER (Brevo PM3) takes advantage of the fall of Clement Giabbani (Moriwaki) in the 13 th round and 4th class before Nathan AMIRAULT (Beon Yamaha).

RACE 2: MIZERA RESISTS IN ROMAN

After a red flag waved by the Race Direction following the fall of several drivers at the start, the race started again a few minutes later for 10 laps.

As fast as ever, Amaury MIZERA takes control and then pulls away slightly from his best opponent, Mattéo ROMAN. The latter nevertheless returned to the clinch at the halfway point and applied constant pressure on MIZERA until the very last lap. However, it was the driver of the Beon Yamaha n ° 111 who distinguished himself in front of ROMAN.

Mathis FARGIER completes the podium ahead of Remy SANJUAN (KTM RC4R) and Elliot KASSIGIAN (KTM RC4R).

In the provisional, MIZERA is still in the lead with 154 points ahead of ROMAN (83 points) and SANJUAN (79 points).

NSF 250

RACE 1: GUYAU, AS IN TESTS

Like the qualifying practice, Lorenzo GUYAU (Honda) was faster than his opponents and won. As for Marius HENRY (Honda), he takes second place ahead of Ilan PERON (Honda).

STROKE 2: DOUBLE FOR GUYAU

It’s tight between the NSF pilots! Neck to neck at the end of the race, Lorenzo GUYAU won with only a few tenths ahead of Marius HENRY.

Ilan PERON could not take the start.

In the provisional, HENRY is in the lead with 87 points ahead of GUYAU (78 points) and PERON (77 points).

SUPERSPORT 300

COURSE 1: BOUDIN RESISTS AND WINS

The best start can be attributed to the second fastest driver in testing: Florent DA CUNHA (Kawasaki – Pirelli). He takes Alexis PUDDING (FT Yamaha Racing Academy – Michelin) and Alexy NEGRIER (Yamaha – Pirelli) in his wheel and then sees lose the advantage in the 2 nd round. BOUDIN then takes control of the trio without detaching himself from his two opponents. After multiple passes of arms during the entire race, it is finally BOUDIN who wins by a hair on NEGRIER who himself stole 2nd place leaving the last step of the podium to DA CUNHA.

Behind the leading group, another trio made up of Line VIEILLARD (Yamaha FT Racing Academy – Michelin), Paul CAILLOL (Kawasaki – Pirelli) and Diego PONCET (Kawasaki – Pirelli) are in a fight for the foot of the podium during the first laps of race. Over the loops, the group “loose” and OLD installs an advance enabling him to sit the 4 th place on the finish line. CAILLOL fall after holding the 5 th row into the 13 th round. And it is a surprise that the paddock find the 5 th row: Anatole BEAUPÈRE (Kawasaki – Pirelli)! Author of a superb recovery from the 19 th place on the starting grid, he confirms here that can be counted on to play leading roles in Race 2. Poncet, meanwhile, finished 6 th .

Challenger side, Enzo DAHMANI (Kawasaki – Dunlop) confirmed his good form following the trials and wins by finishing 14 th in scratch just before Lucas LINXE (Kawasaki – Pirelli), 2 nd category. On the 3 rd place on the podium, Dorian JOULIN (Yamaha – Pirelli) finishes the race in 21 th place after starting in 32 th place on the grid.

RACE 2: BOUDIN ON THE WIRE

Like the morning race, Florent DA CUNHA, Alexis BOUDIN and Alexy NEGRIER offer a three-way ballet for the victory. Truly above the rest, the trio with the mobile hierarchy continues the battle until the finish line where the three drivers are held in less than two tenths. Finally, BOUDIN scored a 2nd victory ahead of NEGRIER and DA CUNHA.

Within the group of pursuers, unlike in race 1, Line VIEILLARD found strong opponents with Anatole BEAUPÈRE, Diego PONCET and Adrien QUINET (Kawasaki – Pirelli)! After a magnificent play by heated exchanges, BEAUPÈRE finished 4 th at OLD, Poncet and Quinet.

On the Challenger side, Enzo DAHMANI wins once again ahead of Lucas LINXE. The latter was however first in the category at the start of the race but finished second in front of Fergus CHRETIENNOT (KTM – Pirelli).

In the provisional, NEGRIER is leading with 108 points ahead of PONCET (98 points) and QUINET (84 points).

As a challenger, DAHMANI is in the lead with 103 points ahead of CHRETIENNOT (102 points) and AMOURET (92 points).

SIDE-CAR

RACE 2: PEUGEOT / PEUGEOT FLIES!

After a great start, PEUGEOT / PEUGEOT took off on the first lap. It adopts a pace that is too fast to print for the rest of the sides board and widens the gap. On the finish line, the n ° 74 team finished king with more than 31 seconds ahead of their pursuers.

Less efficient when the lights were out, LEGLISE / LAVOREL competed with GUIGNARD / POUX in the first laps. The latter also manages to take the best of LEGLISE / LAVOREL which remains in its aspiration. The gap widens in the last part of the race and the hierarchy does not change. GUIGNARD / POUX therefore finishes 2 nd ahead of LEGLISE / LAVOREL.

It is also very tight for the 4 th place! LUNEAU / BIDAULT is holding up against LE BAIL / LEVEAU, both sides cross the finish line in that order and take 4 th and 5 th places.

In F2, it’s LEBLOND / CONIL’s turn to offer the laurels! Effective, the duo resisted the return of CHANAL / LAVOREL, which, unlike race 1, failed to win. In the 13 th round, the side No. 588 is even forced to stop due to a technical problem leaving LEGUEN / CESCUTTI seize the 2 nd spot.

PALACOEUR / CESCUTTI completes the F2 podium.

In the provisional, PEUGEOT / PEUGEOT is leading with 129 points ahead of REEVES / ROUSSEAU (93 points) and LEGLISE / LAVOREL (74 points).

In F2, CHANAL / LAVOREL holds the lead with 130 points ahead of LEBLOND / DOUANE CHAZELLE (88 points) and LEGUEN / CESCUTTI (72 points).

2022 KAWASAKI KX™ MINI MOTOCROSS LINEUP

THE BIKE THAT BUILDS CHAMPIONS

The Kawasaki KX™ mini motocross lineup returns even stronger for 2022 with the all-new Kawasaki KX™112, an updated KX™85, and the KX™65. The entire lineup is ingrained with a long list of successes that have stemmed from building champions from the start.

All-new for 2022 is the KX112 supermini racer that bridges the gap to full-size motocross bikes and boasts a powerful 112 cc displacement engine, the largest in its class. It’s joined by the KX85, which shares several new features with its bigger KX112 counterpart, including a stronger transmission, increased cooling performance, Dunlop MX33 tires, and revised styling and ergonomics. The KX65 returns as the most compact bike in the Kawasaki KX™ lineup and the starting point for aspiring champions.

The Kawasaki Team Green™ racing team has been the dominant force in amateur racing for nearly four decades, providing contingency and an unmatched level of trackside support to racers across the nation. Under the Team Green racing program, a trackside support system consisting of local, regional, and amateur motocross and off-road events across the country has been put in place. There, Kawasaki technicians and race transporters can be found providing critical parts and technical assistance to all riders. Kawasaki’s efforts, matched with the input from aspiring young stars, have produced winning products across its lineup.

KAWASAKI KX™112

·        NEW class-leading 112 cc two-stroke engine

·        NEW stronger 6-speed transmission

·        NEW factory-inspired styling

·        NEW radiator shroud design

·        NEW Dunlop MX33 tires

Building on the strengths of its predecessor, the all-new KX112 offers more race-winning potential in a highly competitive class. The increased power makes the KX112 feel faster everywhere on the track, especially where riders can take advantage of its stronger low-end torque.

The increased displacement on the 2022 two-stroke, single cylinder KX112 comes by way of a 5.8 mm longer stroke and now features a bore and stroke of 52.5 x 51.6 mm. The new engine paired with the powervalve system delivers strong low-end torque that translates to holeshot performance out of the starting gate and a stronger drive when exiting corners. Power and torque are improved across the rev range with peak power significantly greater. Updated intake and exhaust port timing help contribute to the KX112’s stronger low rpm torque, while a revised piston profile improves durability a redesigned contact surface for the piston ring improves the initial bedding-in performance.

In order to reduce the lateral force placed on the piston, and generate more efficient power, the connecting rod was increased by 7 mm. A 4 mm greater crankshaft web offers increased strength to match the greater offset of the crank pin with the new longer stroke engine. The carburetor settings have been fine-tuned to match the all-new engine and contribute to sharp response across the rev range. Complementing the more powerful 112 cc engine is an all-new 6-speed transmission and stronger bearing retainers for the small-end needle bearings, and big-end needle bearings with greater load capacity to help harness the increased engine output. Larger gear dogs improve durability and thrust washers have been added for to improve durability and reduce friction.

A sturdy high-tensile steel perimeter frame was designed in order to harness the engine’s power, offering advantages of strength and torsional rigidity that allows riders to push hard on the track. The chassis is matched with 36 mm inverted front forks that offer excellent damping and bottoming resistance, enabling the all-new KX112 to be ridden hard while maintaining comfort. Riders can fine-tune their settings through 20-way adjustable compression damping. On the rear, Uni-Trak® rear suspension offers preload, 24-way compression and 21-way rebound damping adjustability in order to allow each rider to tailor their settings based on size and skill level.

Similar to the larger KX™ models, petal disc front and rear brakes can be found and are used to achieve strong braking performance. A large-diameter 220 mm front brake is gripped by a dual-piston caliper, while the 184 mm rear disc is held by a single-piston caliper. The KX112’s large 19-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels nicely bridge the gap between minibikes and full-sized race bikes, accommodating larger youth riders and helping to navigate over the bumps and ruts commonly found on motocross tracks. The wheels are fitted with new Dunlop MX33 tires that offer enhanced grip and control. .

Kawasaki continues its unmatched commitment towards providing riders with unmatched comfort with class-leading ERGO-FIT® adjustable components  like an adjustable handlebar mounting system that allows riders to tailor fit their riding style and size by selecting from among  six possible handlebar positions. Collars offer a choice of three heights (STD, +5 mm, +10 mm), while reversible handlebar clamps allow two forward/rearward positions (STD, +10 mm FWD).

The bodywork of the KX112 follows along the lines of its bigger KX counterparts by forming a slim ergonomics package that facilitates rider movements and contributes to strong factory looks. The top of the fuel tank design is flat in order to facilitate sitting farther forward to weigh the front wheel when cornering and a slim, flat seat design makes it easier for riders to adjust their riding position. A new shroud design accommodates a wider range of young riders and makes it easier for taller riders to find a good fit on the bike. The minimalist side covers were made as small as possible and the seams between the shrouds, seat, and side covers are flush in order to allow the rider to move around on the bike with ease.

The new aggressive  looks, paired with the ergonomic fit that facilitates control, moves the styling of the KX112 closer to Kawasaki’s full-sized motocrossers. In addition to the new aggressive shroud styling, the rims are coated in black alumite just like the vehicles used by Kawasaki’s factory racing team. A green alumite finish on the fork and shock adjusters strengthens the KX family resemblance, while the brushed aluminum swingarm completes the high-quality image.

2022 KAWASAKI KX™ MOTOCROSS AND OFF-ROAD FULL-SIZE MOTORCYCLE LINEUP

The Bike That Builds Champions
The Kawasaki KX™ motorcycle range returns stronger than ever for 2022 with its championship-winning packages, including its recently introduced off-road competition models.

Leading the way as the flagship model in the Kawasaki KX range is the KX™450 with a powerful 449cc engine, electric start, Showa A-KIT technology suspension, and a coned disc-spring hydraulic clutch that have proven to capture awards, accolades, and race wins.

All-new in 2021, the 2022 KX™250 remains the most powerful KX250 to date and features a slim aluminum perimeter frame, electric start, and coned disc-spring hydraulic clutch. The KX250 has more AMA motocross and supercross championships combined than any other manufacturer in its class, truly making it the bike that builds champions.

Powered by technology that hails from a legacy of champions, Kawasaki’s KX motorcycle range saw the addition of the KX™450X and KX™250X cross country models in 2021, bringing purposely tuned off-road competition models to the KX lineup. Developed to dominate off-road racecourses in both the woods and the desert, the cross-country KX lineup offers riders the required components for off-road competition straight from Kawasaki along with the dominant engine and chassis performance found on its KX counterparts right off the showroom floor.

KAWASAKI KX™450

As the flagship model in the Kawasaki KX lineup, the 2022 Kawasaki KX450 is built with race-winning components to help get Kawasaki riders to the top step of the podium. Tuned to best suit race-experienced riders, the 449cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine boasts an abundance of power along with a slim aluminum perimeter frame, Showa A-KIT technology suspension, coned disc-spring hydraulic clutch, and electric start to deliver the ultimate championship-winning package.

The 449cc lightweight engine package utilizes input derived directly from the Monster Energy® Kawasaki race team, producing peak power and a torque curve that makes it easy to get on the gas early. The potent KX450 engine features an electric start activated by the push of a button and powered by a compact Li-ion battery. A lightweight finger-follower valve actuation design comes by way of Kawasaki’s top-level road racing technology and World Superbike engineers, enabling larger-diameter valves and more aggressive cam profiles. A close-ratio five-speed transmission is paired with a high-capacity coned disc-spring hydraulic clutch that helps facilitate control and provide a consistent feeling even under heavy use.

A slim aluminum perimeter frame provides precise cornering through excellent front-end feel and agility when riding at high speeds. The frame’s lightweight construction is composed of forged, extruded, and cast parts, while the engine is used as a stressed member and adds to the frame’s rigidity balance. Engineers carefully selected the dimension of the swingarm pivot, output sprocket and rear axle locations to focus on the center of gravity and balanced handling.

High-performance 49 mm coil spring front forks with A-KIT technology can be found up front, featuring large diameter inner tubes that are the same size as those found on the machines of Kawasaki’s factory racing team. The forks enable the use of large damping pistons for smooth action and firm damping. In the rear, a new Uni-Trak® linkage system is connected to the Showa Compact Design rear shock that boasts A-KIT technology with large diameter compression adjusters.

An oversized 270 mm, petal-shaped front brake rotor from the renowned manufacturer, Braking®, is fitted to perfectly complement the powerful engine of the KX450. The rear is equipped with a 250 mm petal-shaped Braking rotor coinciding with the large front disc.

Kawasaki continues its unmatched commitment towards providing riders with class-leading ERGO-FIT® comfort thanks to its adjustable handlebar mounting system and footpegs to fit a variety of riders and riding styles. The factory-style 1-1/8” Renthal® Fatbar® handlebars feature four-way adjustable mounts with 35 mm of adjustability to suit different sized riders. The footpegs feature dual-position mounting points, with a lower position that reduces the standard setting by an additional 5 mm, reducing the knee angle when taller riders are seated.

Complementing the championship-proven technology, the 2022 KX450 maintains its aggressive styling along with in-mold graphics on the radiator shrouds that result in an ultra-smooth surface and racy look needed to finish at the top of its class. The sleek bodywork has been molded to match the V-mounted radiators and narrow chassis design, helping facilitate rider movement and making it easy to slide back and forth.

KAWASAKI KX™250

With a championship heritage that boasts 18 AMA professional titles and 193 race wins since 2004, the Kawasaki KX250 is the ideal platform for mid-level to expert riders and continues as the best performing bike on track. Its high revving engine, electric start, coned disc-spring hydraulic clutch, and slim aluminum perimeter frame provide the power and handling needed to deliver quicker lap times.

The 249cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine delivers significant low-mid range performance while boasting top-end revs and impressive peak power thanks to its development through Kawasaki’s factory racing efforts. Its electric start system, activated by the push of a button, makes starting easy and convenient and is powered by a lightweight, compact Li-ion battery. The valve train utilizes a finger-follower valve actuation to help achieve a high rev limit and allows for the use of more aggressive cam profiles. A diamond-like coating on the finger followers helps protect against wear. Large-diameter, lightweight titanium valves and a high-performance piston with a dry film lubricant coating contribute to strong performance at all rpm.

A high-capacity coned disc-spring clutch offers a more direct feel and maintains a consistent feeling even as the clutch heats up under heavy use.  The airbox construction features a tapered intake funnel for high rpm performance and dual injectors deliver a smooth, instant response, and contribute to engine output at high rpm.

The KX250’s slim aluminum perimeter frame is based on its KX450 counterpart and with lightweight, nimble handling, and slim ergonomics in mind. The lightweight construction is composed of forged, extruded, and cast parts and offers optimal rigidity balance. The addition of a KX450 swingarm delivers the rigidity necessary to match the frame and helps to increase traction at the rear wheel. The center of gravity and key dimensions such as swingarm pivot, output sprocket and rear axle locations have all been carefully selected so that the rear tire drives the bike forward.

Large-diameter 48 mm KYB coil-spring front forks offer optimum action at the initial part of the fork stroke and feature large-diameter inner tubes, enabling the use of 25 mm damping pistons and deliver smooth action and firm damping. A Kashima Coat on the fork’s outer tubes creates a hard, low-friction surface to help prevent wear abrasion on the inside of the tubes. On the rear, a KYB shock unit complements the front fork and features dual compression adjustability, which allows high-speed and low-speed damping to be tuned separately. Kashima Coat on the tank cylinder helps prevent wear abrasion and reduces friction. A new Uni-Trak® rear suspension system mounts the linkage arm below the swingarm, allowing a longer suspension stroke and uses the same linkage ratios as that found on the KX450 motorcycle.

Adding to the numerous factory-style racing components on the KX250 are petal disc brakes, which include an oversized 270 mm Braking® brand rotor that delivers strong braking force and superb control. A 240 mm Braking brand disc can be found on the rear and contributes to controllability and optimized stopping performance.

Just like its KX450 counterpart, the KX250 continues with its class-leading ERGO-FIT® comfort thanks to its adjustable handlebar mounting system and footpegs to fit a variety of riders and riding styles.

Sleek bodywork with factory-style in-mold graphics help ensure it’s the sharpest looking bike in the paddock and further reflect its highly-tuned performance. The bodywork has been designed to facilitate rider movement with long, smooth surfaces that make it easy to slide back and forth. The fuel tank design allows for a flat progression from the seat to the tank, which gives the rider greater freedom of movement and facilitates sitting farther forward.

KAWASAKI KX™450X & KX™250X

Kawasaki introduced all-new off-road cross country competition models last year with the KX450X and KX250X models, featuring the same championship-proven technology found on KX race machines and purposely tuned them for off-road competition. Kawasaki’s rich history in off-road racing consists of more than 25 championships in WORCS, National Hare & Hound, GNCC, and Endurocross over the past 20 years.

The KX450X and KX250X share many winning traits with their motocross counterparts including the engine, frame, chassis, and styling. That successful base is paired with unique cross-country tuning and settings such as softer suspension settings, shorter gearing, off-road 21”/18” wheel combination, Dunlop Geomax AT81 tires, brake components, skid plate, and kickstand. The softer suspension settings and shorter gear ratio help create the optimal handling package for the race-ready off-road KX lineup.

MotoGP: Back-To-Back Races Will Test Marc Marquez’s Condition

Repsol Honda Team aim to regroup in Barcelona

After a difficult Italian GP on and off the track, Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro are looking to get back to work and back to where they know they can be.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Montmelo will host round seven of the 2021 MotoGP World Championship, the Barcelona track a mainstay of the Grand Prix calendar. 2021 presents a revised layout around Turn 10 for riders to now master, the changes made to improve safety. The 24-lap MotoGP race on Sunday is sure to be another thrilling affair as the season continues to rapidly progress.

For the first time since returning from injury, Marc Marquez will race on back-to-back weekends. This presents a unique test for his physical condition and the eight-time World Champion is ready to take the weekend as it comes. Throughout his premier class career, Marquez has twice won the Catalan GP and only missed the podium on one occasion – in 2015 when he fell while battling for the lead. Marquez’s objective for the weekend remains the same as he looks to improve both himself and the Repsol Honda Team RC213V over the course of the Grand Prix.

The Montmelo circuit is a true home race for Granollers-native Pol Espargaro, his hometown less than ten kilometres from the track. After a compromised race in Mugello, Espargaro is aiming to put together a trouble free and consistent weekend on home soil. Flashes of progress, such as in Free Practice 3 in Italy, have the #44 optimistic for what the future holds. Espargaro has finished inside the top-ten at the Catalan GP on three occasions in the premier class after winning the 2013 Moto2 race.
Marc Marquez

“Although our last race was not good, overall Mugello was a weekend with some positives for us as it was quite consistent. We know where we are, we know where we want to go and we will keep following the correct steps week by week. In Montmelo it seems that there will be some fans in the grandstands again, the fans give a great atmosphere, and it will be very nice to see some people in the stands again at the home GP.”

Pol Espargaro

“After a difficult race, sometimes the best thing is a race the very next week. We need to keep moving, this is MotoGP and we return to action again. We approach this new weekend the same way as the previous; with our full focus and the goal to improve. In Mugello we found some things which will help us moving forward. Your home race is always special, even if all the fans can’t join us again this year. Montmelo is really special for me, growing up so close to it and being where I made my World Championship debut in 2006, it’s something you can’t describe racing here. We keep working, we keep improving, we keep moving.”

Launched in 2018, the Speed Twin set the benchmark for how a Modern Classic performance roadster should ride and feel thanks to its class-leading handling, thrilling and responsive engine, advanced rider technology and beautiful, modern custom style with category-defining premium finish and detailing.

An award-winning motorcycle, the Speed Twin has been a great success and a customer favorite. Recognized for having the power and torque of the Thruxton R in an even more accessible set up, the Speed Twin delivered the contemporary custom style and engaged ride of the Street Twin, with even more premium and beautiful details and touches.

And now for 2022, the Speed Twin brings an evolution in every dimension, from power and performance, to handling, technology and style – making it the perfect combination of character, style and genuine sport performance.

Higher Performance

Significantly updated for 2022, the Speed Twin’s characterful 1200cc High Power Bonneville twin engine now has even higher performance, as well as lower emissions. The engine now delivers 3HP more peak power with 99HP at 7,250rpm, plus more power in the mid-range than the previous generation.

Alongside the incredibly strong and linear power delivery, the 2022 Speed Twin also has a fuller torque curve, with peak torque of 83LB-FT arriving more than 500rpm lower down the rev range compared to the previous generation.

The responsiveness of the Speed Twin engine has also been enhanced, thanks to a 17% reduction in inertia obtained via a new lightweight crankshaft and alternator. These enable the engine to spin up faster than the previous generation, and rev harder for longer, with a red line now 500rpm higher than before. In addition, new high compression pistons, revised ports and a new cam profile complete the list of performance enhancements.

The distinctive sound of the Bonneville Twin is amplified by the new brushed stainless steel megaphone twin upswept sports silencers, that have been carefully crafted for a deep, throaty roar to match the Speed Twin’s legendary name. The innovative and uninterrupted exhaust header run cleverly conceals the catalyst box, delivering the characteristic clean-line “straight-run” design.

As with all of the models in Triumph’s Modern Classic range, the cost of ownership is kept low thanks to the first major service interval only after a full 10,000 miles.

Better Handling

Already acknowledged for its superb, sure-footed and comfortable handling, the new generation Speed Twin benefits from a number of significant upgrades for an even more precise, agile, and dynamic ride.

New for 2022, the Speed Twin comes equipped with higher specification upside down 43mm Marzocchi front forks with cartridge damping, bringing a more confidence-inspiring and comfortable ride with 120mm wheel travel. These are perfectly matched to the twin rear suspension units with adjustable spring preload, and 120mm rear wheel travel, both precisely tuned for even better handling and the perfect modern roadster ride.

Further enhancing the new generation Speed Twin, braking performance is improved with new higher specification Brembo 4-piston M50 radial monobloc front brake calipers and twin 320mm Brembo discs. Alongside the Nissin 2-piston floating rear caliper with 220mm disc, and ABS fitted as standard, these deliver a stronger initial braking-bite, more feel and better fade characteristics.

Ensuring incredible grip, precision and high-speed stability, new Metzeler Racetec RR tires are fitted as standard for the 2022 model, along with new cast aluminum wheels, 17” on both front and rear, with a lightweight 12-spoke design.

A beautifully balanced motorcycle, the Speed Twin brings an intuitive and confidence-inspiring ride. The ergonomics are perfectly proportioned with an accessible 31.5 inch seat height, a slim stand over width, tapered handlebars and a comfortable roadster foot-peg position, which are 1.5 inches further forward and slightly lower than the Thruxton, providing the rider with a more relaxed riding position.

Enhanced Technology

The new generation Speed Twin is packed with rider-focused technology, including a sophisticated ride-by-wire system that ensures precise throttle control and enables three riding modes: Rain, Road and Sport. These have been enhanced for 2022, adjusting both the throttle response and traction control settings to suit the rider’s preference. The riding modes can be changed at the touch of a button while on the move, to respond to any change in riding conditions, maximizing rider confidence and safety. The rider can also choose to switch the traction control off independently through the instrument menu.

The bike is also equipped with an LED rear light and indicators, and the signature always-on LED is incorporated into the headlight.

The contemporary 3D clocks incorporate a digital menu system accessed by the scroll button mounted on the handlebar. This provides the rider will all of the key information, including gear position, two trip settings, fuel level and range-to-empty, as well an average and current fuel consumption, access to traction control settings and TPMS indicator if fitted as an accessory.

Other rider focused technology includes an under-seat USB charging socket, an accessory Tire Pressure Monitoring System and an immobilizer with transponder integrated into the premium Triumph branded key.

 More Premium Style and Detailing

Incorporating Triumph’s timeless DNA with a contemporary stripped-back custom style
and poise, the new 2022 Speed Twin is even more beautiful and now comes with even
more stylish details.

In addition to the new 12 spoke cast wheels and twin upswept sporty silencers with brushed stainless-steel headers, the Speed Twin is characterized by its signature-shaped 3.8 gallon tank with knee indents, beautiful bar end mirrors, sculpted side panels and stylish bench seat.

Premium details and finishes are harmonized across the bike, including brushed aluminum front and rear mudguards with new mounts, plus brushed aluminum side panel finishers and heel guards. Additional premium touches and details can be found in the new anodized headlamp mounts to compliment the painted headlamp bowl, classic Monza fuel cap and clear anodized aluminum swingarm.

For 2022, the Speed Twin is available in three paint schemes: the new vibrant and lustrous Red Hopper scheme, the sophisticated Matte Storm Grey with subtle yellow accents, or the timeless Jet Black.

The Genesis of a Motorcycle Icon

Changing the face of motorcycling, the original 1938 Triumph Speed Twin, with the world’s first successful parallel twin engine packaged into a game changing chassis, was a revelation to ride. Its smooth dynamic handling and superb responsive feel established Triumph as the number one motorcycle marque globally for performance and handling, setting the template for all that followed, and earning a global reputation for being the first real ‘riders bike’.

For 2022, the new Speed Twin sets the benchmark all over again for its balance of torque-rich performance, agile and dynamic handling, and stunning contemporary custom motorcycle design and character.

50+ Custom Accessories

The 2022 Speed Twin is the perfect platform for personalization with over 50 custom accessories that riders can add to enhance the style, practicality and security of their bike. These range from multi-function LED indicators, to quilted seats and luggage, knee pads, engine embellishers, head bolt covers, sump plates, heated grips and many more.

All genuine Triumph accessories have been designed and developed alongside the bike itself, to the same exacting standards, to ensure perfect integration and excellent durability, and all come with the same two-year unlimited mileage warranty.
