Imagine a time that women had limited rights, and couldn’t vote; a time that women had to wear skirts, regardless of the daily chores. Visualize the women that secretively concealed their identity under men’s riding gear, entered motorcycle racing events despite the risk of prosecution,,,, and when they won (yes, they did win) only to be told that they were “unofficially registered” when they defeated their male competitors and would not be awarded any trophy or publicity. What country did this happened? It seems so long ago, but I’m writing of the United States of America, and the heroines that have paved the way for modern motorcycle enthusiasts. Finally, these women of our motorcycling past will receive public recognition for their feats. Wheels Through Time museum is proud to announce the opening of their new exhibit, Women & Motorcycles; 1905-1955. This exhibit honors the women, and their machines, from the timeframe of 1905 through 1955. Along with a pictorial display, original artwork from Michelle Wynn of Wynn Art Studio will be on display. Michelle is a graduate of San Francisco, CA’s Academy of Arts college, and has been involved with motorcycling with her husband since 2000. She began riding her own motorcycle in May 2004. Michelle creates on canvas, using acrylics and various techniques to achieve a realistic, photo-like painting. Michelle will be present during the exhibit opening, April 22nd and 23rd, and is available for signing of autographs and sales of posters and prints of this exhibit’s paintings. Examples of her work can be found at www.WynnArt.com . In order to maintain the official unveiling of these commissioned paintings at Wheels Through Time museum, examples of Michelle’s Women & Motorcycles art will not be posted on her website until after the opening weekend of the exhibit. Additional information on the exhibit can be found at: www.WheelsThroughTime.com and clicking their New Exhibit link We hope that you can attend the opening weekend of this exhibit at Wheels Through Time museum, Maggie Valley, NC. The exhibit will be on display for one year. Sincerely, William and Michelle Wynn Wynn Art Studio
