Yamaha YZF-R1 Race Engine Tear Down-

The Army Of Darkness team won the 2020 WERA/N2 National Endurance Championship on a 2020 Yamaha YZF-R1, and then went on to win the 2021 and 2022 Championships as well. But eventually the 2020 engine started jumping out of gear which was going to require a complete engine tear down and re-build for the 2023 season.

Michael Godin at KWS Motorsports offered to be the engine expert and now you can follow along as we see how the valves, seats, pistons, rings, bearings and clutch looked after 4,000 miles at redline.

There are also some fun photos of the team including Chris Peris, Cody Wyman and Ben Walters.

Please enjoy Part 1 and subscribe to the AOD channel to be alerted when Part 2 is edited and released.

In 2023 AOD was sponsored by: Army of Darkness, Dunlop, Yamaha Champions Riding School, Yamaha, Industry13, Chicken Hawk, Wood Craft, Hindle, Supersprox, N2, WERA, and RoadracingWorld.com.
