Leading motorcycle lubricant brand Shell Advance is delighted to confirm that it has reached an agreement with MotoGP™ rights holder Dorna Sports to renew its title sponsorship of the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, continuing its support of the MotoGP FIM World Championship and the Sepang International Circuit. The two-year deal provides Shell Advance with an ideal platform to strengthen its long-standing presence in MotoGP and further engage with motorcycle consumers across the Asia region. The 2013 Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (13th October) will be the 15th round of the World Championship as well as the 15th edition held at the Sepang International Circuit, located on the outskirts of the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. Andrew Hepher, General Manager Marketing Consumer Brands and Product, Shell International Petroleum Company Limited: “I am delighted that Shell Advance is returning as title sponsor of the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix for the next two years. It’s one of the most exciting events on the calendar and we are very proud to extend this deal in a region that is very important for Shell; 2013 will be the fourth year we have supported this race, having been title sponsor from 2009 to 2011. This renewed commitment will complement Shell Advance’s Technical Partnership with Ducati and the Asia Talent Cup to demonstrate our commitment to bikers all over Asia. With the Sepang International Circuit being the official headquarters of the recently announced Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup, a feeder series for Asian motorcycle stars of the future, the commitment to the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix makes even more sense and Shell Advance will be part of one of the most exciting moments for MotoGP, Sepang International circuit and Asian motorcycling. Pau Serracanta, Managing Director of the Commercial Area at Dorna Sports added: “I am extremely happy to announce this new agreement with Shell Advance. The company has long since supported MotoGP in the Asian region and Malaysia in particular and the agreement between Shell Advance and Dorna has always proved to be a total success. Shell Advance will also be sponsoring the new Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup which is to launch in 2014 – further proof of the strength of the partnership with MotoGP.”
