Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini welcomes the world’s leading telematics company as title sponsor

Dorna Sports is delighted to present Octo Telematics, the number one global provider of telematics for the auto insurance industry, as the title sponsor for the Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini. The event will take place at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli from the 7th to the 9th September, 2018. The sponsorship continues to demonstrate the strength of the longstanding and global partnership between Octo and MotoGP™.

Octo has long been a key supporter of the MotoGP™ World Championship, including sponsoring GP’s such as Silverstone in the UK, and Austin in the US, as well team sponsor for the Pramac Racing Team. Octo is the world leader in telematics technology, with more than 5.5 million cars connected to its platform worldwide. This passion for innovation makes the company the perfect title sponsor for the San Marino GP.

Fabio Sbianchi, CEO, Octo Telematics declared: “Octo has always pushed the boundaries of technology and innovation, just as MotoGP riders constantly push the boundaries of their sport. It’s this philosophy that we want to demonstrate in Italy, the birthplace of Octo Telematics. We’re therefore delighted to be the title sponsor, as an Italian company, of a race with such a rich history as the San Marino GP. Telematics technology plays a key role in motor sports and we’re proud to be a part of such a challenging and passionate environment.”

“We are thrilled to have Octo on board as the title sponsor for Misano,” says Pau Serracanta, Managing Director – Dorna Sports. “We have a long history of working together and this new deal strengthens our ties once again. Octo and MotoGP™ share much of a common vision – using technology and telematics to push forward innovation and progress.”
