The Grand Prix Commission has made the following decisions regarding holeshot devices, the grid layout and the number of motorcycles on the grid per manufacturer.
Holeshot devices will be removed in the MotoGP class, effective from the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.
The Grid Layout will be adjusted for all classes, effective from the 2026 German Grand Prix – including extending the distance between the three-rider rows from nine to 12 metres. There will remain three riders per row.
Finally, there will be a maximum limit of six motorcycles on the grid per manufacturer in the MotoGP class, effective season 2028, under the condition that there are at least five manufacturers competing in the Championship at that time.
