Defending World Champion Francesco Bagnaia set the best lap time during MotoGP Free Practice Two (FP2) Friday afternoon at Mugello, in Italy. Riding his Lenovo Ducati Desmosedici, Bagnaia lapped the 3.2-mile (5.2 km) road course in 1:45.436, which was significantly quicker than Bagnaia’s own Race Lap Record of 1:46.588 and close to Fabio Quartararo’s All-Time Lap Record of 1:45.187.

Marco Bezzecchi was best of the rest with a very close 1:45.499 on his Mooney VR46 Racing Team Ducati.

Alex Rins was third overall and the top Honda rider with a lap of 1:45.517 on his LCR Honda Castrol machine.

The top 16 riders in FP2 were covered by 0.868 second. That 16th rider was 2021 World Champion Fabio Quartararo (1:46.304).
