Motovation USA title sponsoring KWR for MotoAmerica season opener at COTA

AUSTIN, Texas (Apr. 18) — The opening round of the MotoAmerica Superbike championship starts this weekend during the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, in Austin, TX at Circuit of the Americas. KWR will field Kyle Wyman on the Motovation USA/Lucas Oil #33 Yamaha Superbike to kick off the season.

Motovation USA and KWR have kicked off the first of many single-event title sponsor partnerships that will occur throughout the 2017 season. The first goes to the Austin-based parts and accessories supplier, also the U.S. distributor for SC Project Exhaust. Kyle Wyman will debut the full-system R1 exhaust at the season opener.

“I’m excited to kick off the season with so many great things happening for the team,” Wyman said. “We had a good test at COTA a few weeks back and have made good use of our time to prepare for the opening round alongside MotoGP. I’m excited to have our partner Motovation USA step up for us at their home race and my goal is to make them proud of our results.”

In 2016, KWR left round one at COTA with two DNF results, but after a strong performance at the official test, Wyman is slated for a banner year during his sophomore season in the MotoAmerica Superbike class.

“2016 is behind us and we had our struggles in some areas,” Kyle added. “We learned an incredible amount about the R1, what’s important to focus on in Superbike, and I’ve also learned a lot about myself as a rider. I look forward to seeing where our preparation will put us.”

Motovation USA will partner with a major Superbike team for the first time since their company’s inception in 2004. The Austin-based motorcycle accessories retailer is elated to sponsor KWR at Circuit of the Americas, a track located in their home city.

“Working with the KWR team has been a great experience, due to Kyle’s attention to detail and pursuit of perfection,” said Nate Seyer, General Manager at Motovation USA. “We share the same winning mentality at Motovation USA, and we are thrilled to be a part of this program.

“Starting off the season like this at our home track is a huge bonus,” added Seyer. “Kyle and his crew will have a Texas-sized support group for our home race and we can’t wait to kick things off in our backyard at COTA!”

The Motovation USA/Lucas Oil/KWR Superbike will debut at Circuit of the Americas alongside MotoGP during the Red Bull United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas April 20-23, 2017.
