M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Bobby Fong clipped a curb and crashed during MotoAmerica HONOS Superbike Race One and injured his left thumb. Fong traveled by private vehicle to a local hospital, where he underwent X-rays that showed no broken bones. According to his team, Fong will try to ride on Sunday.

Dominic Doyle got into Turn Three too hot at the start of MotoAmerica Liqui Moly Junior Cup Race One, ran off the track, and crashed while trying to get back on the track. Doyle’s BARTCON Racing Kawasaki Ninja 400 struck the body and motorcycle of Quarterley Racing/On Track Development’s Ben Gloddy, setting off a chain reaction crash that brought down a total of four riders.

Thanks in part to the air bag in his Dainese D-air leathers deploying before his body was struck by Doyle’s motorcycle, Gloddy was able to pick up his Kawasaki Ninja 400, return to the pits, and finish third in the restarted race.

Doyle tumbled to a stop in the middle of the track. The field of riders tried to avoid him, but he was unfortunately hit in the back by the Kawasaki Ninja 400 of Alexis Olivera, who then crashed.

Olivera was uninjured, according to her father.

Doyle went to a local hospital and was treated and released with extensive bruising to his back. Doyle told Roadracingworld.com that he will try to ride Sunday, but it is requiring someone transporting his personal Kawasaki Ninja 400 from his home in Indiana to Pittsburgh overnight.

Isiah Burleson, the fourth rider to crash in the incident, was able to ride his Kawasaki Ninja 400 back to the pits and restart the race.
