Norcross, GA – Hyosung Motors America is thrilled to announce its entrance into WERA racing. This will mark the first race sponsorship by Hyosung Motors America since 2010, where Matt Kellerman took home the CCS SW Lightweight Championship aboard a GT650R. Hyosung feels optimistic about partnering with Mouse box Racing of Conyers, GA, Apex Race Services, and Pinson SMGT, to run in the WERA E Superstock class. Mousebox Racing owner Jonathan Boswell states that after evaluating the components that come stock on the Hyosung GT250R, Mousebox Racing felt it was an excellent platform to develop into racing trim. “The bike is just more advanced, with Electronic Fuel Injection designed by Delphi, inverted telescopic forks, and dual disc brakes. The GT250R’s sleek aerodynamics, horsepower from the motor package, and Dunlop tires selection will truly benefit the rider and team with results on the track. We appreciate Hyosung’s support and will be striving to bring home championships in the WERA E-Superstock class.” Apex Race Services owner Tim Hunt said, “We look forward to assisting Mousebox Racing in the Development of suspension for the Hyosung GT250R. We see the potential of this bike in the racing scene and feel that our hands-on experience at the track will be a definite advantage to getting the bike to the podium.” WERA Southeast rider, Caleb Smith, will be the Hyosung motorcycle pilot. At age 12, Caleb has stacked up multiple seasons in road racing, supermoto, and flat track racing. His skills and experience have been built primarily through family-funded race programs. His father/manager, Nigel, stated: “We are excited by the opportunity to be part of the Hyosung race team and showcase a new manufacturer in our sport. What a fantastic chance to bring Caleb’s skills to the next level for both on and off the track.” Pinson SMGT (PSMGT) brings sponsorships to racers and teams. In spearheading the effort to align Hyosung and Mouse box Racing, PSMGT President, Eric Pinson, explains “I saw an opportunity to craft a mutually beneficial program that can also help a young rider have a fair shot at winning a championship.“ The alliance of Mouse box Racing, Apex Race Services, Pinson SMGT, and Dunlop Tires stems from, as Pinson put it, “ideal timing and long-standing respect among team members.” A Pro AMA Superbike rider, Pinson started SMGT to reach out to rising talent and provide young riders experience to develop their skills to become great corporate ambassadors.
