Cory West Claims 5th Pirelli Bounty of the Season at Autobahn Country Club During ASRA Sprint Series
Pirelli’s DIABLO™ Superbike SC1 Slicks Propel West to New Motorcycle Track Record
ROME, Ga. (August 16, 2016) – The successful 2016 season continued for Pirelli as Cory West carried the torch and rewrote the history books during the AMA sanctioned ASRA Sprint Series presented by Pirelli at Autobahn Country Club on August 14th. Riding aboard an Scheibe Racing Hayes Brakes sponsored BMW S1000RR, West set a new absolute motorcycle track record in the ASRA Superstock class equipped with Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike SC1 front and rear slicks.
“The weather was terrible on Saturday and I wasn’t sure if the track conditions would recover in time for racing on Sunday,” said Cory West. “Fortunately everything worked out, the track was in great shape and my favorite Pirelli tire combination, SC1 front and rear slicks, helped me reach the next level and set a new track record.”
As a longtime Pirelli advocate, West relied on the cutting edge technology and sheer performance of his DIABLO™ Superbike SC1 slicks to set a blistering pace around the 1.46 mile, 9 turn north course. He successfully passed for the race lead before the finish of Lap 1, sprinting to his record time of 1:02.820 that eluded him to a convincing win in the 9-Lap race.
