Cornerspeed and Cornerspin Announce 2020 Dates and Coached Athletes

Cornerspeed Inc. looks forward to a great 2020 season with a full schedule.

Since 1999, Cornerspeed has offered rider education.  Rider education and Athlete Coaching are and always have been the focus of Cornerspeed and Cornerspin. To that end, for 2020, Cornerspeed, the parent company of Cornerspin, will offer a limited number of on-track events with an emphasis of quality over quantity. Cornerspeed will host the opening CCS practice at Carolina Motorsports Park offering the fully accredited LV1 Cornerspeed Riderschool.

The two other premier events will be the 19th Annual Mid-Atlantic Ducati Owners Trackday/FunDays which incorporates a free Beginner’s Track Orientation school taught by Cornerspeed CEO and Chief instructor, Aaron Stevenson. The second of the two events which is held on Labor Day is designated by Ducati North America as “Ducati Revs the Mid-Atlantic.” Last year’s celebrity guest instructor was Jake Zemke.

Says Stevenson, “With the overabundance of track day organizations competing with bonafide schools for the same dollars, we choose to focus on rider education and athlete coaching through our Cornerspin schools which is why we continue to do less Cornerspeed events. We can accomplish as much or more working with students and athletes at Cornerspin so we will focus on what we do best, running our schools and coaching our athletes.”

For the past five years, Stevenson has focused his coaching work at Cornerspin: “Roadracing in the Dirt,” working closely with Dale Quarterley and the Quarterley Development Team athletes including Dallas Daniels, Jamie Astudillo, Teagg Hobbs as well as riders Damian Jigalov and New Zealander Jacob Stroud. In addition to Quarterley team athletes, Stevenson’s privately coached Cornerspin athletes for 2019 included Stefano Mesa, Jackson Blackmon, Cj Crosslin, Shane Hobgood and Ohvale racer Nathan Gouker, age 8. These five athletes will continue working with Stevenson for the 2020 season.

The ProRider Workshops/Lv2 will feature guest instructors working side by side with Stevenson. 2019 guest instructors were Dale Quarterley and Tom Kipp. Both Quarterley and Kipp will return for 2020 along with the possible addition of other pro riders making appearances.

Cornerspin GP Kids Camp will be offered this season. This camp focuses on racers age 8-12.

Dates for the ProRider Workshops and GP Kids Camp will be released as soon as we have confirmation from our guest instructors.

Cornerspin is expanding its program adding more dates due to high demand. Says Stevenson, “High profile athletes like Rossi and Marquez have been great for exposing fans to the highest level of training for asphalt which, of course, is training in a low traction environment…dirt. These current World Champions have created a greater demand for the training that we offer at Cornerspin. With small displacement ‘mini-bikes,’ students can train and learn at a very high level with the least amount of risk when compared to training on bigger, faster bikes. And dirt training works. You don’t have to look any further than ALL of our American World Champions that came from Dirt Track and other dirt disciplines.” He further states, “Cornerspin is unique in that we translate all of the training we do on dirt to how it can be applied to asphalt and any other discipline of riding for that matter.”

We hope to see you at one or more schools this coming season!
