Formula 2 Class Sponsor Century Trucks & Vans Announces Dates For Shootout rounds

Grand Prairie, Texas-based Century Trucks & Vans announced its sponsorship of the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association’s (CMRA) Formula 2 Expert class for the 2017 season, and added three “shootout rounds” that will offer a cash purse that pays to 10th place. The dates for the “shootout rounds” will be as follows:

April 9 at MotorSport Ranch, Cresson, TX

June 18 at Texas World Speedway, College Station, TX

September 24 at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, Hallett, OK

A staggering $10,000 total purse for the lightweight class dominated by the Suzuki SV650’s is already up for grabs, with the shootout rounds having a per race payout of $2035 on the selected weekends.

Century Trucks & Vans is offering the following per round payouts: Formula 2 Expert – 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50. Payouts will be in the form of a Visa prepaid card.

The Shootout round payouts are as follows: 1st $750, 2nd $500, 3rd $300, 4th $200, 5th $100, 6th $75, 7th $50, 8th $30, 9th $20, 10th $10. Payouts will be in the form of a Visa prepaid card.

The Shootouts are only for the Formula 2 Expert class, which is Race 9 on Sunday with CMRA, and the payouts will be given at the lunchtime podium on Sunday immediately following the race. Century Trucks and Vans must be listed as a sponsor to be eligible to win the prize money.

Daniel Adams, General Manager of Century Trucks & Vans and CMRA’s 2016 number one plate holder, said “We had previously announced NOLA as the first round for the shootouts, but realized it was too close to the season opener at Houston to allow people time to prepare to do it. We’re moving it to April to give people more time to get ready, but we’re already seeing some really good new competitors showing up on the Formula 2 grid. As always, we are excited to present this opportunity to the best road racing club in the country. This is the second year we are proposing a challenge to all riders from all classes and clubs to come participate in the largest contingency payouts in the club. The lightweight classes are on the rise again with the reintroduction of the SV and the new FZ-07. We expect the 2017 season to be the best season yet with new riders and bikes coming out for their shot at the purse.”
