Third-Generation Supersport Bike Offers New Standard Equipment, an Enhanced Engine, and New Options and Packages

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – March 19, 2019…BMW Motorrad USA has announced pricing, features, packages, and options for the new 2020 BMW S 1000 RR, scheduled to arrive in BMW dealer showrooms this summer. The third-generation BMW S 1000 RR will have a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $16,995* (excluding tax and destination fee).

• 25 lb total weight reduction from 459 lbs to 434 lbs

(Additional weight reduction of 7.7 lbs. with M Package)

• Engine is ~9 lbs. lighter: improved handling/ergonomics

• BMW ShiftCam Variable Engine Timing system

• 205 hp vs. 200 hp

• More balanced power delivery

• Improved HP/torque curve at low/medium engine speed

• 37 mpg vs. 35 mpg

• New suspension geometry: less weight, higher level of precision
