ASRA/CCS Heads to Summer Cyclefest at Summit Point Raceway This Weekend

Fort Worth TX – This weekend Summit Point Raceway will host the Summer Cyclefest where American Sportbike Racing Association/Championship Cup Series brings all three of its Championship Series together for another huge event on August 15-16. Along with CCS Mid-Atlantic Championships on the line, the AMA Sanctioned ASRA Team Challenge by Michelin Tire will contest round 3 of their series while the AMA Sanctioned ASRA Sprints by Pirelli Tire compete in round 5 of their 8 round series.

In the chase for the 2020 Mid-Atlantic Overall Championship, “Young Gun” Gus Rodio will try to hold off the resurging veteran Arnold Hastings with just 3 events left in the season for the sportsman series. For the Amateur Overall Championship, it’s Kyle Carrington of Alexandria VA battling Alex Yampolskiy from Totowa NJ for the 2020 Championship. These riders will face off during the 22 CCS Sprints over the 2 day event hoping to secure their position In CCS Racing history as an Overall Champion!

Saturday will feature CCS Sprints starting at 11:00am followed by the AMA Sanctioned ASRA Team Challenge series in a 75 lap contest of man and machine with 11 of the front running teams already entered for the contest, setting up a challenge for Grease Monkey Racing (Stephen Hoffman, Eric Helmbach) and LB Sports (Lloyd Bayley) for the 2020 GTO title with a scant 5-points between the 2 teams, while the perineal GTU front runner Fast Lane Racing (Rick Beggs, Jason Gibbens) will be facing down challengers Birch Racing/B&D House (Dorsey Birch, Chris Rodriguez, Arthur Aznavuryan) and TsT industries (Gabriel Wingard, Adam Wingard) within 6-points of their championship lead.

The action continues on Sunday with ASRA Qualifying sessions at 9:30am then right into CCS races before the ASRA Sprints take the track after the lunch break. The afternoon will finish off with the remaining CCS races and the ultra-fast Unlimited SuperBikes with Mark Heckles and Frank Babuska Jr. will close out the event in what should be epic fashion if past history is an indicator.
