Sunday’s AMA Superbike race at Road America was red-flagged on the fifth lap when Lee Acree’s engine blew, spreading oil on the track that collected Mike Sullivan, Jeremiah Johnson, Brian Boyd and David Bell.

Acree did not crash, and the other four suffered no apparent injury when they crashed in turn eight.

At the time of the red flag, Jake Zemke was leading Ben Bostrom by 4.286 seconds, with Miguel Duhamel close behind, followed by Eric Bostrom, Aaron Yates, Mat Mladin, Josh Hayes, Steve Crevier, Jake Holden and Larry Pegram.

Acree was running in 11th when his engine failed.

On the warm-up lap for the restart, Bell crashed in turn six, without delaying the restart.
