Week 1 theme is “Go Ride Your Way!” PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The first day of April marks the official launch of AMA Go Ride! Month, sponsored by the American Motorcyclist Association. All month long, motorcyclists nationwide are encouraged to kick-start the 2013 riding season in style with information, entertainment, contests, prizes from Helmet House, Shoei, HelmetLok, BikeBandit.com and more via www.americanmotorcyclist.com and the AMA Facebook page. During the first week of April, “AMA Go Ride Your Way!” week taps into the individualism of motorcycling on favorite trails and twisties. Riders are invited to post pictures of their favorite rides on the AMA Facebook page at www.facebook.com/americanmotorcyclist and send stories describing their favorite rides to [email protected]. The best story will be featured on the AMA Go Ride! Month blog. AMA Go Ride! Month is also the launch of a special edition of AMA Flash Tours with a contest for street and dirt riders. The AMA Up, Down, All-Around Flash Tour invites motorcyclists to photograph a trip to the highest, lowest or most remote part of their state, or an historical or cultural landmark unique to the state. Each week a winner will be selected to receive a Helmetlok next-generation lock and cable set. Plus, all qualifying entrants will be entered into a month-end drawing to receive great prizes, including a Shoei helmet, Tour Master Intake jacket and Cortech tank bags, courtesy of AMA partner Helmet House. Contestants must be AMA members. For those who aren’t members, it’s easy to sign up at www.americanmotorcyclist.com/join. Contest details and rules are posted on the AMA website at www.americanmotorcyclist.com/riding/goride, and updates will be available on the AMA Facebook page. Also during each week of AMA Go Ride! Month, “Freedom Friday” will alert motorcyclists to important issues that pose threats to motorcycling freedoms. Watch for the first Freedom Friday announcement on April 5. A Freedom Friday contest will also launch that day, and each week in April two lucky AMA members will win an AMA gift bag and a BikeBandit.com gift card. Contestants will also be entered into the month-end drawing for Helmet House prizes. Still digging out of the snow and ice? Not to worry, you have the entire month of April to enter one of the cool contests. In the meantime, be sure to check out these helpful tips and tools provided for street and dirt riding on the AMA website at www.americanmotorcyclist.com/riding/street/resources and www.americanmotorcyclist.com/riding/dirt/getstarted.
