From a press release issued by T3 Racing: The ACU Triumph Triple Challenge (TTC), sponsored by T3 Racing, will commence the 2008 race season with testing in Gaudix, Spain March 10th through the 12th, with the first race of the season kicking off just a week and a half later at Donington Park March 22nd through the 23rd. The TTC is a televised spec race series, utilizing the ultra-competitive Triumph Daytona 675 on Michelin tyres. What sets the TTC apart from other similar spec race series, is that it separates the riders into two classes; The “Michelin Young Guns” fields riders aged 16 to 24 (as of the 1st of March, 2008), while those aged 25 and above will compete in the “TDG Cup”. Even though the TTC separates it’s racers into two separate classes for points, trophies and cash prizes, all riders compete on track at the same time. The nature of the TTC is to allow racers to develop and display their skills on a level playing field, against riders of similar age. All bikes will be evenly matched, with strictly enforced regulations, to ensure that no rider can benefit from performance enhancements that other riders may not be able to afford. Trophies and prize money will be awarded to the top three finishers of each class every race weekend, with the overall winners of the “Michelin Young Guns” and “TDG Cup”, having their choice between a brand new road-going Triumph Daytona 675 or a brand new road-going Triumph Speed Triple 1050, along with an all expenses paid trip to Michelin’s test track in France for a day of tyre evaluations. Additionally, the winning rider of the “Michelin Young Guns” will also be given the opportunity to try out for the Triumph SC World Superstock team, run by Stefano Caracchi.
