ROYAL LONDON WATCHES MOVE INTO POLE POSITION WITH MCE BSB PARTNERSHIP

The MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, the UK’s premier motorsport series has announced a partnership with watch brand Royal London, part of the Condor Group.

As the official timekeeper of MCE BSB, the Royal London logo will be identified and credited on the official event live timing service and in the associated timing graphics embedded in the worldwide TV feed produced at each event. They will also enjoy a comprehensive package of premium marketing rights in association with the MCE BSB brand.

Royal London watches will be awarded prior to each of the 26 MCE BSB Championship races to the rider starting in pole position. In addition the six Title Fighters following qualification to the Showdown will each achieve an award and finally at the end of the season the MCE BSB champion, the Motorpoint British Supersport champion and the MCE BSB Riders Cup winner will also be recipients of Royal London watches.

In the near future Royal London will add special limited edition BSB watches to their range which have been established and retailed around the world.

Stuart Higgs, MCE BSB Series Director, said: “We are very pleased to announce this new relationship with Royal London, their first major sports partnership since being the title sponsor of the Grand Prix World Snooker Championships in 2006. The presentation of Royal London watches will certainly add further prestige to each event. MCE BSB Championships and races have recently been decided by just 0.006 of a second, highlighting the perfect association with precision timekeeping.”

David Stokes, Head of Sales and Marketing from Condor Group said: “We are pleased to sign a partnership with one of the most important motorsport championships in the world, the MCE BSB Championship. Royal London shares many attributes with MCE BSB by being a UK based operation with truly global appeal. We are delighted to become the official timekeeper and watch manufacturer of the championship and look forward to presenting Royal London Watches to the riders throughout the year. Equally we believe that the fans and supporters of the championship will appreciate the production of limited edition BSB watches.”

The opening MCE BSB event to be timed by Royal London will be at Brands Hatch this Easter weekend (April 18/19/20/21).
