Cody Wyman, the younger brother of MotoAmerica racers Kyle
Wyman and Travis Wyman, will race the remainder of the 2019 MotoAmerica Junior
Cup Championship on a Westby Racing Yamaha YZF-R3.

The Westby Yamaha was left vacant when South African rider
Samuel Lochoff abruptly switched to the Celtic HSBK Racing team in the middle
of the 2019 season.

“It just happened that Kyle was passing by as [Westby Racing
Team Manager] Chuck Giacchetto was thinking about putting somebody on the bike,”
Cody Wyman told Roadracingworld.com Thursday at Pittsburgh International Race
Complex. “He had people approaching him about it, but he wasn’t really keen to
do that. Then Kyle mentioned my name, and Chuck said, ‘Yeah, we’ll put Cody on
it for the last three.’”

It may be an uphill battle for Cody Wyman, age 25, as the
Yamaha YZF-R3 hasn’t seen much success so far in the 2019 Junior Cup
Championship, which has been dominated by riders on Kawasaki Ninja 400s, and
Wyman’s limited recent road racing experience has mostly been on 600cc Supersport/Superstock
machines.

“I’ve only been on a road race bike six or seven times in
the past four years,” said Cody Wyman. “It’s a little bit different from the
600, but I think I can be there even with the Yamaha.”
