Erik Buell Racing (EBR) Looks Forward to Barber East Troy, WI – The EBR AMA Superbike team will return to Barber Motorsports Park for the 2013 Triumph SuperBike Classic presented by America’s First Federal Credit Union, June 21st to 23rd. The team will be looking forward to improve on the results at Road America where Saturday saw 3 EBR’s in the top eleven. Sunday was looking like a similar result until Geoff May’s nasty looking crash in turn one. Geoff said, “Luckily I came away from the crash without a scratch. The bike didn’t fare as well, though! We had changed the settings from Saturday, and knew we were going to do much better. The bike was working great, but the settings were optimized for after the tires were more worn. I just was too hungry to catch the guys in front of me early on, and didn’t wait for the set-up to come in.” “Thanks to everyone that was worried about my well-being.” Geoff added, “I like Barber, love the 1190RS, and am excited for this upcoming weekend.” May had 2 fourths last year at Barber. Geoff rides the #99 Team Hero 1190RS, sponsored by Hero MotoCorp and AMSOIL. Aaron Yates is aboard the #20 Team AMSOIL/Hero 1190RS; a very popular AMA rider with several championships, who is making his first full season return to AMA Superbike after a very bad injury in 2010. Aaron expressed his feelings, “I have been very lucky to have a great career in AMA Superbike. For 2013, it is really exciting not only to be back, but to be part of the actual factory team developing an America Superbike – something we have always needed in this class.” This will be Aaron Yates’ first time at Barber on the AMSOIL/Hero EBR. “I can’t wait to race on a track that really suits the bike and my style,” says Yates. “I’ll be riding hard, and the EBR is ready to go.” EBR, founded by Erik Buell in 2009, designs and builds American sport bikes. The first EBR motorcycle produced is the exotic 1190 RS. It is a street legal limited edition Superbike, and is designed to be competitive in the AMA Superbike series with very few modifications. EBR is the only American manufacturer competing in the Superbike series, and the multiple top five and podium finishes earned by EBR in 2012 AMA Pro Superbike series demonstrate just how competitive this new motorcycle is. EBR finished third in the manufacturers standings in 2012, a fantastic achievement for their first season. Hero MotoCorp Ltd is an Indian Company and is the world’s largest producer of two-wheeled vehicles. In 2012 they signed strategic agreements with EBR to not only sponsor the EBR AMA Superbike team, a first for any Indian company, but also to develop new models using EBR’s cutting edge technology and expertise in the motorcycle market. AMSOIL, based in Superior, Wisconsin, is a world leader in synthetic lubricant technology and was the world’s first manufacturer of API-qualified synthetic motor oil.
