Soltisz, meanwhile, placed ninth in the 2021 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship with a best race result of seventh at Brainerd International Raceway and 12 top-10 finishes in 18 races.

Gillim competed in all three rounds of the 2021 MotoAmerica King Of The Baggers (KOTB) Championship on a Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson and finished third in that Championship, but on February 1, Gillim told Roadracingworld.com he would not be racing in KOTB in 2022.

AMA Pro Racing Rebrands American Hillclimb Series

AMA Pro Racing Announces Rebrand of American Hillclimb Series

DAYTONA BEACH Fla. – AMA Pro Racing is excited to announce the official rebranding of the all-new American Hillclimb series – formerly known as AMA Pro Hillclimb. The rebranding and associated logo redesign come on the heels of one of the series’ most successful seasons to date and the recent announcement of an expanded 2022 schedule.

American Hillclimb is among the most historic motorcycle racing championships globally, with its origins tracing back more than a century. Its direct lineage goes back even prior to the formation of the AMA, including the Motorcycle & Allied Trades Association National Hillclimb Championships that ranked as among the most popular two-wheeled racing events of its day.

That proud history is still front and center to the present, most visibly with the inclusion of the 102nd anniversary of the Muskegon Motorcycle Club’s annual Spring Run on the ‘22 slate.

American Hillclimb retains the exact same qualities that originally made it so popular – breath-taking acceleration, heart-pounding drama, and spectator-friendly immediacy. The rebranding comes as the series enters a new era of growth with tremendous potential to tap into new markets and audiences.

Stay tuned for information regarding American Hillclimb’s plans for enhanced livestreaming of its events this season.

The 2022 American Hillclimb schedule will open on June 5 with the White Rose I, hosted by the White Rose Motorcycle Club in Jefferson, Pennsylvania.

For tickets, please contact each individual club or event.

POSITIVE THREE DAYS OF TESTING FOR MARCO BEZZECCHI AT SEPANG

The rider of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team under the wall of the 2-minutes on the final day of the Shakedown

Sepang (Malaysia),February 2nd 2022 – End in Sepang of the Shakedown reserved to the MotoGP testers and rookies, the first act of the 2022 season and the debut for Marco Bezzecchi on the Ducati Desmosedici GP of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team.

Three days of hard work, very high temperatures (60 degrees the tarmac today), and a total of 125 laps completed for the young rookie. A great progression: first under the wall of the 2-minutes this morning fully exploiting the more favorable track conditions and then a best lap time of 1: 59.711 in the afternoon that means the P4 in the combined standings.

As scheduled, next appointment on the track during the upcoming weekend (5th and 6th February) with the official MotoGP test, with Luca Marini on track too, again at Sepang International Circuit.

Marco Bezzecchi

I’m happy: a good day today, even better than yesterday and overall a good job over the three days with all the technicians, Ducati and the Team. We have always improved, I am happy with my physical condition and I cannot complain. Saturday we will be back on track, there will be more references with the other riders, even more opportunities to ride together and I will continue to get familiar with the bike. Let’s go forward step by step.

Pablo Nieto

Team Manager

I am satisfied: these have been three important days of work for a new Team at the first real testing session. Marco did very well, together with the whole Team, he began to understand how the bike and the category works. The lap time is not bad at all, he was fast also considering that he made some small mistakes in that flying lap. We are here for learning, this is a kind of warm up for us and I’m happy. We will continue in this direction also in the next test, Luca will join us and will ride the 2022 Ducati Factory bike for the first time. Let’s go forward step by step, with the arrival of all the riders of the grid here, for Marco there will be more references and we will understand exactly where he is at the moment. It is an opportunity to be fully exploited to be able to stay in the slipstream of the strongest guys, make a step and have fun.

More, from a press release issued by Gresini Racing:

FALSE START FOR DI GIANNANTONIO IN SEPANG SHAKEDOWN

Only 38 laps (best lap-time of 2’02.596s) for Fabio Di Giannantonio in the three-day test at Sepang for rookies and test riders. The Italian, whose progression was halted at the end of day one due to a gastroenteritis, was unable to return to the track and he is currently recovering ahead of the upcoming two-day test – again at the Sepang International Circuit – which will take place this Saturday and Sunday (February 5th and 6th).

HIS CURRENT FITNESS CONDITION. Provided that the rider underwent through all protocols/medical checks needed (both rapid and PCR tests were negative), here is the diagnosis by Dr Michele Zasa, Clinica Mobile’s manager. “Fabio has a simple gastroenteritis, with the symptoms appearing at the end of the opening day of testing. This is something quite common when we travel to the Southeast of Asia, but still led to high dehydration that doesn’t allow him to ride safely. As a precautionary measure, he rested for two days and hopefully he will back to 100% of his physical condition for the upcoming two days of testing. He is recovering already, but it will be important to monitor the situation in the next hours.”

THE TIME LOST. No need to highlight the importance of the test, especially for a rookie. Diggia’s track engineer Donatello Giovanotti had to basically redo the testing schedule for the rider #49. “The idea for these three days was to understand the bike, but especially the tyres. After a quite positive day – despite the small number of laps – in which we only used the medium-tyre option, the schedule also included a test with the other tyre option and a mini race simulation to understand the bike behaviour and all the electronic strategies. It will be difficult to recover the time lost in the next couple of test days at Sepang: we will try to make up for the time lost after day one, try the other tyre option and try a race situation, but obviously we won’t be able to concentrate on the electronics and setup.”

“Few track action from Day1 at Sepang”

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #49

“I’m obviously very sorry. I got ready as good as I could to start these three days on the right foot, and the whole off-season in general. Due to a “silly” thing unfortunately I had to stay in bed. Yesterday I was totally knocked out, while today I’m a little better. I want to hope that with a couple more days off I will be ready to get back on track from Saturday already.”

MotoGP: Pramac Racing Expecting Great Things In 2022

PRAMAC RACING 2022: FASTER AND STRONGER

The team is at the starting blocks of the 2022 season: a new Team Manager, same riders and many ambitions thanks to the great performance of last year.

The curtain rises for the 2022 MotoGP World Championship, and Pramac Racing starts again after the fantastic results of last season, first of all the “Best Independent Team” title that rewards the great work of a group present at the starting blocks for the twenty first consecutive year. Johann Zarco and Jorge Martín will be the Team’s riders also this year. The Frenchman, twice world champion in the Moto2 class, is back from an incredible season that crowned him “Best Independent Rider “. The Spaniard – world champion in the Moto3 class – showed his immense talent by winning the coveted title of “Rookie of the Year” as a rookie in the premier class. Both riders will have available the Ducati Desmosedici GP22 with factory specs.

Paolo Campinoti “The goal of this year is to keep high the level after the excellent results of last season. 2021 showed us that the hard work, combined with the great professionalism of the people who form the Team, brings great results. The relationship we created with Johann and Jorge is special and the rankings show it clearly: Best Independent Team, Best Independent Rider and Rookie of the Year, Pramac Racing’s best season. I can’t wait to start, we expect great things”.

Claudio Calabresi “It’s my first time as Team Manager and I’ll give my best to take Pramac Racing even higher. I am sure that Johann and Jorge will help us, they already have done an exceptional job in 2021. This year the challenge is fascinating: to keep high the level and grow again. We have great ambitions and we will do everything to give many satisfactions to our fans”.

Fonsi Nieto “The whole team is working hard to get off to a great start. We want to reconfirm us among the most competitive MotoGP teams. Last year with Johann and Jorge we did incredible things, now we want to push the boundaries and fight in every race for the leading positions. I think we have what it takes to achieve great goals”

Johann Zarco “I’m really happy to run another season with Pramac Racing. Continuity is important, to improve oneself and to carry out ambitious projects. With the team we built a great relationship and I am very satisfied with what we did last season. I can’t wait to leave for tests and get on the bike. It’s going to be a great season.”

Jorge Martin “Last season was the most intense of my life, a series of strong emotions, hard moments but also of extremely happy ones. Together with Pramac Racing we have started to build something special. Last year we laid the foundation, this year we are ready for greater things.”

MotoAmerica: Belgian Rider Badie Joining Junior Cup (Updated)

“Dreams come true, I’m racing MotoAmerica”

Levi Badie will make history in 2022 by becoming the first Belgian rider to race in the MotoAmerica Championship. He will contest the Junior Cup series aboard a Kawasaki after inking a deal with BARTCON Racing – one of the leading teams within the category in recent years.

For Levi, who raced the Yamaha bLU cRU European Cup alongside World Superbike last year, the opportunity to head stateside with BARTCON Racing was something he couldn’t refuse. He will fly to the US ahead of the opening round at Road Atlanta to take part in several days of testing.

Badie proved in his debut season on the world stage that he is a fast learner, challenging for the podium in the latter half of the 2021 season at circuits he had never previously ridden. This bodes well for his American debut.

In addition to joining BARTCON Racing, Levi will represent BISON Track and X-Lite in 2022.

Levi Badie: “I can finally announce that one of my biggest dreams has come true – I will be racing in MotoAmerica this year! I will race for the BARTCON Racing team and I can’t wait to get to America and meet them in person. The first contact with the team has been so nice. They are so friendly, and I am so happy that they have added me to their racing family. I’m looking forward to discovering all the new tracks and to race at some iconic ones on the calendar like Laguna Seca. I have seen that the fans can get really close to the riders in MotoAmerica and so I hope to meet many of them during the year and hope that they follow all of my adventures. My expectations are that everything will be big because everyone tells me that everything in America is big and so I can’t wait to see for myself. I am also looking to meet my new team mate Dominic. He has lots of experience racing in Junior Cup and Supersport and so I think I can learn a lot from him. I want to also say a huge thanks to Rob and Tosha at Bison for their support this year. I am proud to be part of the herd both in the states and in Europe. And a big thanks to X-Lite for their support too. I know it will be a big challenge, but I am confident that together with the BARTCON Racing team we can fight for the podium and who knows even the title – that’s the goal!”

In addition, it is hoped that Levi will compete in several European events, including a number of races in WorldSSP300 later in the year.

More, from a press release issued by BARTCON Racing:

A 2nd Slice of Europe Joins Irish BARTCON Racing Team

“I hadn’t planned on fielding a Junior Cup entrant this season as there was no super talent kicking down our doors and frankly myself and my Crew Chief Mike Skowronek had agreed that our Twins Cup campaign with Dominic Doyle would necessitate all our time, focus and commitment to secure a Championship,” said BARTCON Racing owner Colin Barton. “But when a golden opportunity dropped on my lap, it was hard to turn it down.

“Because of new FIM World Supersport rules and regulations being enforced this season in Europe, several super talented young riders found themselves unable to make the grid before the season had even started due to the new grid limit of 30. Then this golden opportunity came in the form of Belgian rider Levi Badie, who did come knocking on BARTCON Racing’s doors.

“After some research into the logistics of Levi traveling back and forth from Belgium and BARTCON securing additional mechanics and crew to compete in the MotoAmerica Junior Cup series, I am delighted to announce that Levi Badie will be joining BARTCON Racing for the 2022 season onboard our Triple Strong Racing-built Kawasaki Ninja 400 along with his teammate Dominic Doyle onboard his SA-Moto-built Yamaha R7.

“Keep an eye out for further press releases and development to come in the near future and be rest assured that BARTCON Racing aren’t coming to take part this season! We’re Coming To Take Over!”

Indian Introduces 2022 Scout Rogue

INDIAN MOTORCYCLE BRINGS AN AGGRESSIVE EDGE TO THE ICONIC SCOUT FAMILY WITH THE NEW SCOUT ROGUE & SCOUT ROGUE SIXTY

Powerful, Reliable, Comfortable & Agile – New Scout Rogue Offers the Most Aggressive Style & Performance-Minded Expression of the Iconic Indian Scout

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – February 1, 2022 – Indian Motorcycle, America’s First Motorcycle Company, today unleashed the most aggressive iteration of its iconic Indian Scout with the launch of the new Scout Rogue and Scout Rogue Sixty. Packed with attitude and edge, thanks to its aggressive styling and performance-minded features, Scout Rogue exudes performance, begs for more throttle, and is ready for whatever comes its way.

Combining iconic design with contemporary style, the Scout Rogue demands attention and inspires riders to express a bolder sense of self-expression. A lineup of new features give Scout Rogue its edgy, hard-riding demeanor, including a quarter fairing, mini ape-hanger handlebars, sport style seat, blacked-out fenders and valve covers, and a 19-inch front wheel. The proven Scout and Scout Sixty powertrains pack serious punch with loads of low-end torque for snappy acceleration.

“For so many motorcyclists, riding carries a rogue spirit – a bold statement of freedom and individuality that brings riders together – and Scout Rogue delivers that in spades,” said Aaron Jax, Indian Motorcycle Vice President. “It’s an attitude that can only be found on a motorcycle, and it creates a totally unique level of camaraderie and community, and that’s what Scout Rogue is all about.”

The introduction of the Scout Rogue and Scout Rogue Sixty add two more Scout models for riders looking to stand out from the crowd. Starting at $9,999, the Scout Rogue Sixty opens the door for even more riders to join the crew. Each model inspires rider confidence with a low seat height and manageable wheelbase, while a lower center of gravity provides superior handling for all riders – regardless of experience and skill level.

Riders looking to personalize their ride can do so through countless Indian Motorcycle accessories that enhance the bike’s performance, lighting, style, and comfort.

Performance Accessories

Riders can achieve a smoother, more comfortable ride with increased suspension travel from Adjustable Piggyback Rear Shocks. Using twist knobs, riders can easily dial-in their compression and rebound damping settings.

Lighting Accessories

For superior nighttime visibility, the Scout Pathfinder 5.75-inch Adaptive LED Headlight activates 15 individual beams based on the bike’s lean angle. The upgraded headlight utilizes patented technology that projects light farther and improves the overall light spread in front of the bike.

Style Accessories

To add personalized, custom-inspired styling, riders can add Smoked LED Turn Signals and an Auxiliary Tachometer with Shift Light. Rather than amber and red turn signal lenses that can distract from the bike’s style, the smoked turn signals feature clear lenses, but still provide bright, easy-to-see amber LED lighting in front and bright red LED lighting in the rear.

Mounting next to the standard instrumentation, the Auxiliary Tachometer with Shift Light keeps the rider aware of the engine’s revolutions per minute (RPM) and enhances the bike’s high-performance style. An LED shift light illuminates to indicate recommended shift points.

Comfort Accessories

Whether riding solo or two-up, exploring a town or crushing miles, Indian Motorcycle offers a host of comfort and touring accessories. Scout Rogue riders can personalize their ergonomics with the Rider Comfort Seat. The Syndicate 2-Up Seat and Syndicate Low Profile Passenger Backrest add comfort for passengers.

If packing gear, riders can add the black Saddlebag, Solo Luggage Rack, and a black, water-resistant Solo Rack Bag.

New Accessories

In addition, the Scout Rogue’s stock quarter fairing and sport style solo seat are now available as added accessories for Scout and Scout Bobber models. The Indian Motorcycle Quarter Fairing delivers custom style in a high-profile location at the front of the bike. The fairing encircles the headlight and creates a look that is both classic and sporty. The Quarter Fairing can be color-matched for Scout Rogue models, Scout models from 2015-2022 and Scout Bobber models 2018-2022.

The sport style Indian Motorcycle Syndicate Solo Seat provides long-riding comfort, as an upraised rear lip creates a comfortable bucket that keeps riders planted during hard acceleration. The interior padding provides an ideal blend of comfort and support, and the black, leather-like vinyl seat covering provides long-term, all-weather durability. The Syndicate Solo Seat fits Scout Bobber models 2018-2022.

Complementing the Scout Rogue is the Indian Motorcycle Rogue clothing and gear collection. The Rogue Collection personifies blacked-out styling and has been designed for men and women looking for simple, clean lines with tones of black and gray. Riders and fans can shop the full Rogue Collection at www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/shop/apparel/collections/rogue/.

Starting at $11,499, the Scout Rogue delivers 100 horsepower by way of a liquid-cooled, 69 cubic-inch (1133cc) motor. The Scout Rogue is available in Black Metallic, Storm Blue, Sagebrush Smoke, Black Smoke, Black Smoke Midnight and Stealth Gray.

The Scout Rogue Sixty starts at $9,999 and features a 60 cubic-inch (999 cc), liquid-cooled motor with 78 horsepower. The Scout Rogue Sixty is available in Black Metallic, Titanium Smoke and Bronze Smoke.

The 2022 Scout Rogue and Scout Rogue Sixty will begin shipping to Indian Motorcycle dealers throughout the U.S. and Canada in early 2022. Riders can learn more at their local Indian Motorcycle dealership, by visiting IndianMotorcycle.com, or by following along on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Vance & Hines and Mission Foods Partner With Suzuki In NHRA Drag Racing

Editorial Note: Vance & Hines is also the official supplier of Harley-Davidson XG750R flat track production racebikes, fields Harley-Davidsons in the MotoAmerica King Of The Baggers racing series, and is a sponsor of the Yamaha YZF-R7 raced by Hayden Schultz in MotoAmerica Twins Cup.

Santa Fe Springs, CA – February 1, 2022 – Vance & Hines today announced a partnership that brings three legendary brands together in a quest for the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle (PSM) Championship. This triumvirate of performance-focused, industry-leading companies make the Vance & Hines/Mission Foods/Suzuki Factory Pro Stock Motorcycle Team an early favorite for the top spot.

Suzuki, a global leader in motorcycle performance, plans to add to its NHRA PSM legacy in 2022 when it dubs Vance & Hines as its “premier drag race team.” The two companies have a storied relationship dating back to 1978 with the launch of the GS 1000. That year, Vance & Hines began operating Suzuki’s factory drag racing team, with racing programs under several sanctioning bodies. In the years that followed, they earned numerous victories and championships with company co-founders Terry Vance as rider and Byron Hines as tuner. Ultimately, the collaboration established Suzuki as the fastest and winningest brand on the drag strip. Their success paved the way for the emergence of PSM racing as a professional sport.

When the NHRA, established the PSM class as full-fledged national championship in 1987, Vance won its inaugural race in Gainesville on a Suzuki GS 1150E, and later in that season set a Pro Stock milestone as the first motorcycle to run a 7-second ET. Since that time, Vance & Hines-built Suzuki powerplants have won five NHRA national titles, including three consecutive championships on bikes piloted by Byron’s son, Matt Hines.

The Vance & Hines/Suzuki partnership is a multi-year program which will allow racing fans to see the performance of a 6.3 second, 200+ MPH Hayabusa model in the world’s premier form of motorcycle drag racing. Additionally, fans will be able to experience a Suzuki presence at many of the national NHRA PSM events and V&H/Suzuki team members will meet with fans in the paddock area at every race.

Mission Foods continues its sponsorship of the team in 2022 and has become a significant presence in racing, with partnerships and sponsorships in IndyCar and several racing organizations in powersports. Mission Foods, the largest manufacturer of tortillas in the US and a worldwide leader in Mexican foods, joined the Vance & Hines NHRA PSM effort in 2021.

“Suzuki has a tradition of competing at the highest levels in motorcycle racing,” said Kerry Graeber, Suzuki Motor USA, LLC Vice President, Motorcycle/ATV Sales and Marketing. “Given our history and success in drag racing it’s fitting that we take a high-profile role in NHRA PSM.” Graeber added that “one of the specific goals of this program is to showcase Suzuki’s all-new, third generation Hayabusa sport bike and Vance & Hines is without a doubt the best partner for this initiative. We’re thrilled to be reuniting with Vance & Hines in NHRA to show the extraordinary capabilities of the Hayabusa.”

“We’re happy to expand our partnership with Vance & Hines for NHRA racing and are overjoyed to have Suzuki on board. This is a great expression of our #2FAST2TASTY campaign,” said Juan Gonzalez, Mission Foods Chief Executive Officer. “NHRA with Vance & Hines and Suzuki, IndyCar with Arrow McLaren SP and our sponsorships in American Flat Track will make 2022 an exciting year for all race fans.”

“Vance & Hines was born on a racetrack and has a passion for high performance,” said Mike Kennedy, President of Vance & Hines. “That’s why partnering with organizations with equally strong cultures of winning is perfect for us. We are overjoyed to have Mission Foods return to our program, and to begin a long and successful strategic partnership with Suzuki. This is already a great start to the 2022 racing season.”

Additional details of the Vance & Hines/Mission Foods/Suzuki racing program will be released in February as the team prepares for the first NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle race of the season in Gainesville, Florida. The season includes 15 PSM races and its finale takes place in November in Pomona, California at NHRA’s Auto Club Finals.

Long-Time MotoAmerica Partner Parts Unlimited Onboard Again For 2022

Global Powersports Distributor Parts Unlimited Signs Three-Year Agreement

IRVINE, CA (February 2, 2022) – MotoAmerica, North America’s premier road racing series, is proud to announce that global powersports distributor Parts Unlimited, one of the series’ longest-serving sponsors, has signed a new three-year agreement to be an official partner of the 2022 Auto Parts 4 Less MotoAmerica Championship.

“Parts Unlimited has been with MotoAmerica since the beginning and they bring a lot to our paddock,” said Lance Bryson, MotoAmerica’s Director of Sponsorship. “Parts Unlimited is a racing company so it’s a natural fit for MotoAmerica. The coming season promises to be a thriller in all our classes and we’re happy to have Parts Unlimited on board with us again.”

Parts Unlimited is the world’s largest distributor of aftermarket accessories in the powersports industry and is owned by LeMans Corporation, which is headquartered in Janesville, Wisconsin. Parts Unlimited sells to over 12,000 dealerships worldwide and continues to expand its market penetration with its sister companies, Parts Canada, Parts Europe and Drag Specialties.

“We’re pleased to be able to continue our partnership with MotoAmerica,” said Hylton Beattie, Parts Unlimited’s Global Motorsports Director. “We like what MotoAmerica has been able to achieve with its series and it only gets better every season. Road racing is important to us and our customers so working with MotoAmerica is always at the top of our list. The coming season looks like it will be the best yet and we can’t wait to get out there and see the racing and our customers at the races.”

The MotoAmerica season begins at Daytona International Speedway, on March 10-12 with the Daytona 200, the opening rounds of the Mission King Of The Baggers Championship, the MotoAmerica Twins Cup Series, and the Roland Sands Design Super Hooligans.

Disrupt Racing plans to field Hayden Gillim on an Infinity Fall Protection-sponsored Suzuki GSX-R1000 in MotoAmerica Superbike and Stock 1000 and Carl Soltisz on a Suzuki GSX-R600 in MotoAmerica Supersport in 2022. Both men will start their seasons by riding Suzuki GSX-R600s in the Daytona 200.

“We are excited to officially announce that Hayden Gillim will be coming back to the paddock full time for the 2022 MotoAmerica season,” read a statement on Disrupt Racing’s Facebook page. “Hayden Gillim will be racing this season as a Premier Superbike rider.  In addition, Hayden will also be competing as a Stock 1000 season competitor.”

“We are stoked to welcome back fan favorite Carl Soltisz, a.k.a. Super Carl, a.k.a. Carlos Superior, to the www.Infinityfallprotection.com Disrupt Racing team for the 2022 season,” read a separate announcement on the Disrupt Racing Facebook page. “Carl had an amazing rookie season last year and is looking very strong to move forward this season on board his Suzuki GSX-R Supersport machine.”

Gillim did only one MotoAmerica Stock 1000 race with Disrupt Racing in 2021, and in spite of missing practice on Friday, he finished third in the race at Pittsburgh International Race Complex.
