New National Flat Track Racing Series Coming In 2024

NATIONAL FLATTRACK GROUP SET TO LAUNCH THE LARGEST FLATTRACK SERIES IN THE UNITED STATES.

Oklahoma City, OK – Xtreem Flattrack (XFT) excitingly announces the official rebranding, restructuring and launch of the all-new National Flat Track (NFT) series. The launching of this new series was designed to put focus back on the roots of our great sport consisting of several State, Regional and National Championship opportunities through our effective partnerships. The racing calendar consists of 45 events across the United States including Halfmile, Shorttrack and TT tracks. The Series will end with a true 3-day National Championship Finale.

“I am so excited for this new era of flat track and am thankful for the partners on board that reflect the same vision for the sport, “said Jake Latimer, CEO of the National Flattrack Series and National Flattrack Group. “Although the Pro AFT racers are the cream of the crop, you cannot deny that there are some great amateur, vintage and expert racers across the Country, and we know that every pro must come from somewhere.”

The NFT Group has developed a program in cooperation with several partners with a focus on these “kids” and young adults and their stories. Through video, website, email, social media and other avenues the NFT in-house media group will allow the public to follow along on their journey through the classes as they chase the road to the AFT Pro ranks. Witness firsthand the challenges and rewards that follow.  As this program gains momentum some of the immediate goals and visions is to include a learn to race program that works with troubled or underprivileged youth to instill and teach the values of a what it takes to not only be a great motorcycle racer, but also great human being as they transition through life. A year end expert points fund for modern, and vintage expert class is in the works as well as the opportunity for AM classes to win brand new motorcycles, parts packages and even have the chance to ride for a top Pro AFT team as part of their championship.

“It was very important when developing this new series that the sanctioning and agreements were all multi year deals extending 5 years and beyond.” Jake continues “We wanted to make sure our Riders, Partners and Sponsors recognized the commitment we are bringing to the sport, We believe the future of flattrack looks great and can’t wait to get started.”

2024 will also see some different entertainment aspects added to the national program at select events including FMX jump shows, Demolition Derbies, Trials exhibitions, Stunt shows, Monster Trucks, Concerts, Bike shows and more. NFT plans to expand the series to virtually every state in the U.S by 2025 and are solidifying plans for a Global launch by 2026.

American Flat Track: RoosEvans Riding A1R Racing Yamaha In Singles

A1R Racing Aims High with RoosEvans on Yamahas for 2024

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 4, 2024) – A1R Racing is thrilled to announce an augmented program for the upcoming Progressive American Flat Track season featuring Aidan RoosEvans aboard Yamaha YZ450Fs in the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles presented by KICKER class.

2024 marks an exciting opportunity for the team as it is set to grow significantly with support from Yamaha. The squad will carry a full complement of crew, including four mechanics and former racer and professional bodybuilder Joe RoosEvans on board as coach.

The additional support lays a strong foundation, which should allow Aidan to fully capitalize on his potential and establish himself a contender at the front of the highly competitive category.

A racer since the age of four, RoosEvans was a 14-time motorcycle dirt track amateur national champion before shifting his focus to auto racing, where he was named Warrior Region ASCR Rookie of the Year in 2018. Since returning to two wheels, the O’Fallon, Illinois, native has repeatedly proven himself against the best 450cc riders in the world, securing 13 top tens since 2020 while finishing ninth in the ‘22 championship standings. RoosEvans enjoyed the best Main Event result of his burgeoning Progressive AFT career a year ago, finishing in the top five at the Orange County Half-Mile.

Team Manager Derek Arnett said, “Our success in the upcoming season is not only reliant on skill and talent, but also a huge effort as a team dedicated to one goal. We’ve put in a ton of hard work testing and tuning, and we are totally confident in what we’ve accomplished over the offseason. We’re race ready now and excited to see the fruits of our labor.”

RoosEvans said, “I couldn’t be more excited to start the season. With backing from Yamaha and all of our other great partners, I feel like this can be my best year yet. Honestly, I struggled at times getting a rhythm in recent years, but when I hopped back on the Yamaha, I felt right back at home. It was like a homecoming when we tried one last fall, and I was instantly hooked on the idea of coming back to Yamaha. Everything fell into place, and I’m really excited about having Yamaha be a part of our team in 2024.”

Yamaha, FRA Trust, Supporting Our Heroes Foundation, ATVs & More, BluCru, Hinson, GYTR, SIM, Kelso Auto Body, and 6D Helmets

MotoAmerica: Xaus Racing Harley-Davidson In King Of The Baggers

Former World Championship racer Ruben Xaus is coming out of retirement to compete in the 2024 Mission King Of The Baggers Championship.

“Here we are in America, and we’re ready to go for King Of The Baggers 2024 with Feuling team on a Harley. See you there,” 45-year-old Xaus said in a video released on social media by his new team Feuling Parts.

In 2001, Xaus became the first Spaniard to win a Superbike World Championship race with his victory on a factory Ducati at Oschersleben.

In 2004, he rode a Ducati satellite machine to third place in the MotoGP race in Qatar.

Xaus last raced full-time in the Superbike World Championship in 2011. Since then, he has managed race teams and pursued business interests outside of racing.

In November 2023, Xaus rode a Feuling Parts Harley-Davidson to second place in a Bagger Racing League (BRL) Bagger GP race at Willow Springs International Raceway.

Hutchinson Set For Return To North West 200 And Isle Of Man TT

IAN HUTCHINSON AND MILENCO PADGETTS HONDA RE-UNITE FOR 2024 BRIGGS NORTH WEST 200

Three-time North West 200 race winner, Ian Hutchinson will be re-united with the Milenco Padgett’s Honda squad for a full-scale onslaught on the Superbike, Superstock and Supersport races at the 2024 Briggs North West 200 in May.

The move marks another inspiring comeback for the 44 year old during a career that has seemed to be an almost relentless battle against injury and illness since he last raced full-time with the Yorkshire-based team during 2010.

Hutchinson’s stunning ten race winning run with the Padgett’s team at that season’s NW200, Isle of Man TT, Ulster Grand Prix and Scarborough Gold Cup ended when he sustained a serious leg injury at Silverstone in September 2010.

After enduring more than 40 operations, the ‘Bingley Bullet’ eventually fought his way back into contention to claim victory in the 2013 Macau Grand Prix plus, a third win at the NW200 in 2016 and eight more TT triumphs before he crashed and broke his leg again during the 2017 Senior TT.

Battling back to fitness again, Hutchy returned to road racing with Honda in 2018, riding a Padgetts prepared CBR600RR to 7th and 16th place finishes in the Supersport class at the NW200.

After Covid wiped out the major road races during 2020 and 2021, Hutchy returned to action in 2022 before being hit by yet another health scare when he suffered a stroke while cycling in Spain during February 2023.

“I was well prepared for 2023 with a lot of testing and training in Spain before I had the stroke.” Hutchinson says.

“It was taken away from me again but I have done what I’ve always done and carried on training. I’ve done it for years and years. I did it when I had a frame on my leg after 2010 so that I can be ready to go when I need to be because I have never thought it was time to quit. Despite everything that has happened I have always wanted to keep racing.”

After numerous medical tests, including extra interventions imposed by the sport’s governing body, the ACU, the Yorkshireman has been given a clean bill of health and his race licence is set to be renewed on March 1.

Hutchy has not been sitting on his hands waiting for that process to be completed. After taking part in a recent track day at Croft he has been riding in Spain, including an outing at Almeria on the Milenco Superstock-spec Honda he will ride in 2024.

“I am a realist.” he says.

“It would be a miracle to come back and win. I made it happen in Macau in 2013 after the 2010 crash. I never gave up on it then. I know where I am now and I know where I can be. Only I can see that.”

“We are delighted to be racing with Hutchy at the North West 200 again.” team boss, Clive Padgett, says.

“‘It is a match made in heaven. Our record-breaking winning run together began at the North West in 2010 and it is a meeting that has always been close to our hearts.”

More, from a press release issued by Isle of Man TT Press Office:

HUTCHINSON REUNITES WITH MILENCO BY PADGETTS FOR TT RETURN

16-time race winner Ian Hutchinson has confirmed his return to the Isle of Man TT, reuniting with the Milenco by Padgett’s Motorcycles team with which he claimed a historic five-in-a-week back in 2010.

The announcement will see the Yorkshire partnership contest the RST Superbike, RL360 Superstock, and Milwaukee Senior TT Races on board the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, and the two Monster Energy Supersport Races on the new CBR600RR.

Hutchinson returns to racing on the TT Mountain Course after being forced to withdraw from last year’s event when he suffered a stroke before the start of the season. Despite making a swift and full recovery – returning to training in a matter of weeks – standard protocol with motorcycle racing’s governing body meant he was forced to watch from the sidelines for a 12-month period.

A feat that is still yet to be matched, Hutchinson became the first and only man to take five race victories at a single TT riding Padgett’s machinery back in 2010. 2018 saw him ride for the Batley-based team in Supersport class, but 2024 will be the first time that Hutchinson has been with the team across all classes since their momentous accomplishment.

With 16 TT titles to his name, Hutchinson is the fourth most successful racer in TT history and is still the fifth-fastest of all time, having lapped at over 133mph back in 2016.

Ian Hutchinson: “I’m really pleased to be back with Clive and the team. I think that the way that I work and the team works just fits right. Clive puts together a bike you know you can get on and ride fast straightaway. With injuries, COVID and missing last year, I don’t feel as though I’ve had a good run at the TT since 2017 and so it’s ideal to be with the team that can let me get the laps which is what I need.”

“We’ve already been out testing in Spain and we’re back out again to Portugal and Spain in the next few weeks, plus we’ve plenty more track time in the run up to TT so I’m really looking forward to what 2024 can bring.”

Clive Padgett, Milenco by Padgett’s Motorcycles Team Principal: “We’re absolutely delighted to have Ian back into the Padgett’s racing family. We’ve a long, enjoyable and highly successful relationship that goes back many, many years and it’s an honour to be back working together again across all the classes.”

“He’s had one hell of a journey since that incredible year in 2010, but there is no denying the man’s determination and I don’t think you can ever rule him out of getting a top finish. I truly believe in him but regardless of the results, I think having him back with the team is just a fantastic story for the sport and for the TT.”

Video: Marini Talks About Becoming A Repsol Honda MotoGP Rider

VIDEO: Marini: “We have the power to come back very soon”

2024 will see Luca Marini step onto the factory Honda RC213V in the iconic Repsol Honda Team. For the 26-year-old Italian, it’s a move full of opportunities and future growth.

Italian Luca Marini will become the 20th rider in history to wear the colours of the Repsol Honda Team as a full-time entrant. Joining the World Championship on a permanent basis in 2016, Marini claimed six wins, 15 podiums and five pole positions in the Moto2 World Championship before stepping up to the premier class in 2021. Improving consistently across his first two years in the class, a debut podium in MotoGP would arrive in Austin at the Circuit of the Americas, finishing second behind Alex Rins on the LCR Honda machine.

Signed to contest the 2024 and 2025 seasons, Marini joins Honda’s MotoGP project at a critical moment. He sat down after his first test on the Repsol Honda Team RC213V to reflect on how his career has led him to this point.

When did your passion for motorbikes start?

Marini: “I want to say this is something that was building inside of me year by year when I was a child. Just scooters, to try new things, and then I jumped on a pocket bike at four years old and it was like a game at the beginning. But then, I started to enjoy it a lot, even more, and then the bikes became bigger and bigger tracks and more speed. So, my passion also was growing a lot through the years. Arriving at to the World Championship was a dream come true.”

What is your first memory on a bike?

Marini: “I don’t have a lot of memories of my past, but I remember one time, one of the first times on the pocket bike, that I had like three wheels on the back. The first day balancing with my father we said, ‘okay today we try to put them away’ and it was a big day.”

Can you tell us more about the photos of you in Repsol Honda leathers as a child?

Marini: “This is something incredible, something made from destiny, I don’t know. I don’t remember very well why I had those leathers. I remember that I was really happy to have those colours because also in that period, in those years, were incredible, like every year in the MotoGP history with the Repsol Honda Team colours were incredible. So, it’s a very big pleasure to wear them now in MotoGP.”

Did you know you always wanted to be a rider?

Marini: “It was something that was growing inside of my head and from around 14 years old I decide, ‘okay this this could be my life, my job.’ I enjoy doing this a lot and I would like to have a job like this. When I was younger also, I was thinking on other sports, even other jobs because I was curious to try many different things and then it was just the one that give me more emotion.”

Can you tell us about your journey to join the World Championship?

Marini: “I started with the pocket bikes then Mini GP like the Honda NSF trophy with the 100cc four-stroke. It was also there a very good bike, very good moments, good memories and then jumped on a Moto3 bike. The Italian championship, in the CIV. Then in European Championship I started to become very tall, so I jumped on a Moto2 bike and after one year in the European Championship, I came to the World Championship. It was a good journey; I learned a lot and now I’m a better rider and better person also for all the steps that I made in the past.”

What has been your best on track moment?

Marini: “It’s maybe easy, but the first podium in COTA in America was just amazing, a very beautiful race – a beautiful place to take your first podium. So, I have very, very good memories, a moment full of emotions and is something that I want to find again, here with these colours.”

How did you come to join the Repsol Honda Team?

Marini: “It was a shock after Marc announced his change. So, me and my group, my manager, we tried to find a way to approach this new project and improve together and try to build a better bike, better performance, to come back and win races and win world titles. This is our goal, our target, so I am sure there will be very, very satisfying moments too.”

What made you want to join HRC?

Marini: “First of all, it’s the best in the history. Numbers and statistics speak for themselves, and it is a very particular moment now, but I think we have the power to come back very, very soon. I will try to give all my feedback, my energy to this project and I’m sure that we will find the correct direction (and) we will have the power to stay in the top for many years.”

What is your goal for the 2024 season?

Marini: “I want to start with an open mind, we need to understand our speed, our potential after the first official test and we need to find our balance, find a way to beat our direct opponents which are my teammates, with the same manufacture, with the same bike – that is the first goal on my side, sure. But also, I want to look forward or to try to find a way to get a podium with this bike or get a victory. I know that maybe will be tough, but we need to look ahead.”

How was that first day inside the factory Honda Team in Valencia?

Marini: “It was amazing, passing in a very fast way and the day was already finished! But sure, that we will have a lot of time during winter, during the test, during the season to speak with all the members of this team because it’s full of people it’s just a dream working with all these people and also with (the) Japanese. Well, I have a very good feeling, I love the culture, we can have a very good synergy.”
