Jake Zemke Joins Riders Discount Triumph Team Holland, Mich. (July 30, 2013) – Longtime AMA Pro Road Racing competitor Jake Zemke returns to the track with the Riders Discount Triumph team in the Daytona SportBike class. Beginning this weekend at Miller Motorsports Park, Zemke’s #98 will join fellow Daytona 200 winner Joey Pascarella for the final three races of the season. “I was thoroughly impressed with the Riders Discount Daytona 675R in a recent test and am anxious to mix it up on the track during a race weekend,” said Zemke. “Racing motorcycles is my passion and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the team’s success.” The Paso Robles, California rider entered his first race at the age of nine. Zemke became a Pro Flat Track racer in 1992 at the age of 16 and a Pro Road Racer in 1997 at the age of 21. He has competed in the AMA Pro SuperSport, Formula Xtreme, Daytona SportBike, and Superbike championships. Zemke won the Daytona 200 in 2006 and the AMA Pro Racing Formula Xtreme championship in 2008. “I’m pumped to have Jake as a teammate,” said Joey Pascarella. “Jake has a wealth of experience and I’m looking forward to getting a jump on the competition with him.” Riders Discount signed Joey Pascarella after he won the 2012 Daytona 200 so Pascarella could maintain the momentum of his racing season. In addition to its AMA Pro Racing program, Riders Discount keeps an active schedule of track day and amateur road racing events throughout the country. “AMA Pro Daytona SportBike competition is extraordinarily competitive and an absolute thrill,” said Brian Gibson, President and CEO of Riders Discount. “The Riders Discount team has come together well and bringing Jake on is a natural part of our growth. We’re very optimistic about having a second bike in the field and are thrilled that Jake will be riding it.” There are three races left in this year’s AMA Pro Daytona SportBike series. They include this weekend’s event at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, The New Jersey Lottery Devil’s Showdown at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ the weekend of September 13 to 15, and the season finale at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca the weekend of September 27 to 29.
