Kenny Roberts To Host American Heroes Dinner With Yamaha Racing Champions

Modesto, CA – April 4, 2012 Kenny Roberts. Mert Lawwill. Eddie Lawson. Wayne Rainey. Kenny Roberts, Junior. The mere mention of these names conjures up a Final Jeopardy answer in which the correct question is “Who are America’s greatest motorcycle racing heroes?”

And yet, these names are not part of a TV game show. Rather, they are the American racing heroes who will be attending the First Annual American Hero Dinner. And, what’s even better is that the dinner will be held at Kenny Roberts’ legendary ranch in Modesto, California.

But, what’s best of all is that you have a rare and special opportunity to attend the dinner right along with Kenny, Mert, Eddie, Wayne, and Junior–but you have to act fast.

The Cpl. Michael D. Anderson Jr. Memorial Foundation is proud to announce the American Hero Dinner fundraiser benefiting “Welcome Home Heroes.” The dinner will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Roberts Ranch. Also in attendance will be representatives of America’s military elite, including Sergeant Major Jon Cavaiani (U.S. Army, retired) who received the Congressional Medal of Honor for his valorous action in the Republic of Vietnam.

Seating for the fundraiser dinner is very limited, and tickets are $350 per person. To attend, call Kurt Vander Weide at 209-404-3928 or email your inquiry to [email protected].

Guest transportation will be provided from nearby Modesto to the Roberts Ranch where you’ll get to meet Kenny, Sergeant Major Cavaiani, and other motorcycle racing and military luminaries. You’ll get a personal tour of Kenny’s private museum located right at the ranch, followed by central California’s finest ranch barbeque.

After the dinner, guests will be transported back to Modesto to attend a special, no-charge reception and screening of On Any Sunday hosted by the Modesto Clarion Inn. The Clarion Inn has arranged for special group hotel rates for American Hero Dinner guests.

As a follow-up to the dinner, the 8th Annual Cpl. Michael D. Anderson, Jr. Memorial Ride will be held the next day on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Kenny Roberts and several other American motorcycle racing heroes are scheduled to ride in the event aboard Star® Motorcycles provided by Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. The ride is free and open to the public, and hundreds of Marines, soldiers, sailors, and airmen are expected to attend.

From its start in Modesto to its completion in the historic mining community of Jamestown, the Memorial Ride will be escorted by motorcycle units from the Modesto Police Department, the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Department, and the California Highway Patrol, ensuring a safe and uninterrupted run through central California’s spectacular Mother Lode foothills.

The Friday evening reception at the Modesto Clarion Inn and the following day’s Memorial Ride are free and open to the public. The Clarion Inn will have special group hotel rates for participants in the Memorial Ride.

The Cpl. Michael D. Anderson Jr. Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established to benefit active members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Welcome Home Heroes is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized to provide assistance to local Central California veterans of the U.S. military in their transition from active duty to private life.
