Chris Clark pulls off unbelievable overtakes in Spain – unlucky to miss the podium twice.

Chris Clark secured his first double finish of the 2026 Yamaha R3 BLU CRU championship, battling for the podium in both races at Motorland Aragon in Spain this past weekend.

Third in practice on Friday morning, Chris was held up in Superpole on several occasions which compromised his starting position for Saturday’s opening nine lap race.

Despite his grid slot Chris once again showed why he is one of the title favourites – he was leading within a few laps. Sadly however, such is the nature of racing within the series Chris was unlucky on the final lap after several riders slowed the pace causing him to get shuffled back into the pack. He crossed the line in a multi rider photo finish, classified seventh.

It was a similar story on Sunday. Chris took eighth at the flag to move well inside the top ten in the overall standings as the series heads to the UK and the iconic Donington Park circuit in July.

Chris Clark: “It was a really good race on Saturday. I made my way forward quite quickly in the opening couple of laps, but I made a mistake and lost a bunch of positions. That made me angry and fought my way back into the lead within a lap. The rest of the race was all about getting into the right position as I knew the last lap slipstream would play a part – it’s so unpredictable. I ended up finishing sixth but there was a red flag which meant the results went back to the last timing sector, so I was classified P7. Race two was also pretty good and I scored solid points in P8 which is good for the championship. I was soon in the top ten and was ready to fight for the lead. I passed eight riders in one got to move from ninth to first into turn one which was insane. The bike was overheating and I was struggling a bit. Nevertheless, I fought hard and I am going to take what I have learned here to Donington Park and push for the podium there!”
