More from a press release issued by WSBK:
Back on top: Masia fights from P7 on the grid to claim victory ahead of title rival Arenas. The Spanish Sophomore played home hero as he won his first race since Assen.
Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) closed the Aragon Round with force as he claimed the top step of the rostrum at the FIM Supersport World Championship’s Aragon Round for his fifth win in WorldSSP. making their way up onto the podium behind him, Albert Arenas landed up on the rostrum for the ninth time, and Matteo Ferrari (WRP Racing) punched his podium ticket for his second P3 in his rookie season

ZACCONE LEADS EARLY
Zaccone rode P1 with the holeshot early on, chased close behind by Roberto Garcia (GMT94 Yamaha), who had a tremendous launch off the line from his P4 starting position. Aldi Mahendra (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) and Garcia made their way past Zaccone on the back straight of the opening lap, but only a tenth divided the trio early on, with Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) and Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) close behind. The Brit and the #75 continued to close the gap until early in Lap 5, when the #69 clipped the back of Garcia and fell back to P8. At the race’s halfway point, it was a Yamaha top three at the front as Arenas led his countryman ahead of Mahendra in P3.

MASIA’S P7 COMEBACK
Having started back in P7, Jaume Masia’s (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) pace grew as the race went on, snapping up P3 from the Indonesian who rode half a second back from the lead pair with 4 laps left. He reeled in his compatriots ahead of him, and with two laps to go, he put a hand on P1 with a double overtake on the run into Turn 1. From there, the Spaniard held off his title rival behind him to take his third win in 2026, cutting the Riders’ Championship points deficit to 40 points. Arenas was disappointed to see himself bested by his compatriot and rival, but P2 was good damage control to limit his points loss. Matteo Ferrari’s (WRP Racing) hard work paid off as he moved past Philipp Oettl (Feel Racing WorldSSP Team), Mahendra and Garcia for his first podium since Phillip Island.
ANOTHER TOUGH RESULT FOR GARCIA
Roberto Garcia’s race win aspirations were foiled again in Race 2 as his pace fell off late to take his second P4 of the weekend. Aldi Mahendra (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) looked poised for a podium as he was the quicker of the two AS Racing riders for most of the race, but he finished in P5, six tenths out from P1. Oettl’s top ten consistency continued for the tenth time this season in the final race at Aragon as the German crossed the line in P6.
BOOTH AMOS SHUFFLED TO P7
Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) was unable to convert his pole position into a podium result and finished down in P7. Oncu looked bottled up behind the Triumph bikes, and the #16 at different points. Valentin Debise’s (EASTROC ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing) weekend continued to leave something to be desired as he rode in P11 early and finished the contest a few positions better in P8. Oli Bayliss (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) finished the round in the top ten in P9, just ahead of Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team), who earned his tenth top ten of the season.
