D34G Racing to continue in WorldSSP with Bayliss, Edwards joins for WorldSSP Challenge

Team D34G Racing is entering year three of their WorldSSP commitment once again with the stunning Ducati Panigale V2 955, for a 2024 edition of the series that will consist of 12 rounds, starting with the traditional Australian round at Phillip Island (23-25 February) and drawing to a close eight almost months later at ‘Circuito de Jerez’ in southern Spain (11-13 October).

The Australian season opener will see returning rider Oli Bayliss ready to excite the crowd with his talent and speed. The 20-year-old Aussie is gearing up for his second season with the squad led by former WorldSBK rider Davide Giugliano, aiming at building on the work done in 2023 and the continuing experience made aboard Ducati’s Supersport machine.

Bayliss will be joined in the European rounds by fellow Australian Tom Edwards. The 22-year-old from Wellington, a small town in New South Wales, will tackle the WorldSSP Challenge following his debut season last year on different machinery and three years (2018-2020) spent in the WorldSSP300 category.

#32 OLIVER BAYLISS

“I’m very excited to be racing for Team D34G Racing again. I feel like last year I didn’t get to show my speed due to some injuries and unlucky moments. I really enjoyed being with these guys and I’m happy to be going around the clock one more time to show how fast we can be. A big thank you to all of my sponsors, supporters and the whole D34G Racing for giving me this opportunity.”

#71 TOM EDWARDS

“I’m really looking forward to this next chapter in my career. It’s a really exciting opportunity to be joining the D34G team and to work under the leadership of Davide. The team has a lot of experience and have shown just how competitive they can be. Really grateful to Davide for backing me and giving me this opportunity. I’m really confident together we will see consistent strong results. Really excited to ride the V2, I think this bike will really suit my riding style. It’ll be great to have Oli as my team mate too, think we might be the first Aussie teammates in SuperSport which is pretty cool. Going be a huge year, can’t wait for the season to get started.”

DAVIDE GIUGLIANO – TEAM MANAGER D34G RACING

“Obviously I’m really excited to dive into this new season and I can’t wait to get to the track. I’m really happy with this year’s rider line-up. We will continue with Oli and for him it’ll be another season of growth and we’ll try to maximise the work done this year, which for him was a bit of an unlucky one due to injuries. In any case I’m happy with him and he surely has mine and the team’s full trust. Regarding Edwards I would like to give him a warm welcome; it’ll be interesting to see him racing with us. He already showed some good speed and I believe that he can aim at good results with our team. Now it’s up to us to put both riders in the best condition to give their best. It’ll also be insteresting to see two fellow Aussies sharing the pit-garage. Obviously I would like to thank all the sponsors for allowing us to continue in this journey. See you at the track!”
