A three-day tyre test at the EuroSpeedway Lausitzring, between 15 and 17 July, offers the Superbike World Championship’s unique tyre supplier Pirelli a further chance to evaluate its latest products, before they are made available to all riders in the championship, during race weekends. As usual, each manufacturer represented in the championship is allowed to have one designated test team at these sessions, to ensure that the needs of all riders, irrespective of machinery choices, are met in real race conditions. Top riders in attendance at EuroSpeedway Lausitz are Troy Bayliss and Lorenzo Lanzi (Ducati), Troy Corser and Yukio Kagayama (Suzuki), James Toseland and Karl Muggeridge (Honda), Noriyuki Haga and Andrew Pitt (Yamaha), Regis Laconi and Chris Walker (Kawasaki), and Steve Martin and Craig Jones (Petronas). In the Supersport class Sebastien Charpentier (who will be there for a limited time only, as he recovers from recent pelvic and collarbone injuries) and Kenan Sofuoglu (Honda), Kevin Curtain and Broc Parkes (Yamaha), Maxime Berger (Kawasaki), Christian Zaiser (Ducati), and Kai Borre Andersen and Barry Veneman (Suzuki). Pirelli will bring ten front tyres and a dozen rear tyres to Lausitz, and will also find time to evaluate experimental tyres, in readiness for the 2007 season – including a new for 2007 qualifying rear tyre.
