Vesrah Suzuki will have 3 riders competing in the 2011 AMA Pro Racing series with 2 entries in the Daytona Sportbike championship and 1 entry in the Supersport championship. The team will be riding the new for 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600. In the Daytona Sportbike class Cory West will return for his 3rd season with Vesrah Suzuki and 2nd season with the team in AMA Pro Racing and will be riding the #57 entry. Taylor Knapp joins the team this season as the other Vesrah Suzuki entry in the Daytona Sportbike championship after competing in the Pro Superbike class last year. Taylor has ridden on the team’s equipment in the past and will be aboard the #44 Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R600. Vesrah Suzuki will also be competing the Supersport class with Corey Alexander aboard the #5 Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R600. This is the first full AMA Pro Racing season for Corey who will be vying for the AMA Pro Racing Supersport East Division championship and racing the entire 2011 AMA Pro Racing schedule. Vesrah Suzuki would like to thank all of our sponsors for their support for the 2011 season. Vesrah Co., American Suzuki and Rockstar Energy drink will continue supporting the team while Yoshimura and Catalyst Racing Composites have come on board for 2011. Penske Racing shocks and Traxxion Dynamics Fork Components will provide suspension support for the team. Factory Pro, Bazzaz, Nielsen Enterprises Suzuki, Trek Bicycles, Sudco Int., Vortex, DID Chain, GPR Stabilizers, GP Tech, Active and Road Rage Designs will also be supporting the team’s effort as they have in the past. Mark Junge Team Owner Vesrah Suzuki “I have to thank Mr. Aki Tamura of Vesrah for his continued support of our efforts. With my crew from the 2010 season returning plus several strategic additions I’m looking forward to the 2011 championships and showing what the Vesrah Suzuki team is capable of. “ Cory West Vesrah Suzuki #57 “I’m happy to be back with the Vesrah Suzuki team for another season in the Daytona Sportbike Championship with Tony Pogue as my Crew Chief. With the addition of some new sponsors and Suzuki coming out with a new GSX-R600, I feel confident that we will be a threat for the championship and race wins this year. I was amazed at how quickly the team got our first 2011 bike together for the Daytona tire test, and with little engine work done, we finished with some pretty quick times. I can’t wait to get some more testing in on the new bike so the team can be ready to roll for the Daytona 200!” Taylor Knapp Vesrah Suzuki #44 “I am thrilled to be joining Vesrah Suzuki for the 2011 season. Based on the results the team had as a first year team in the AMA last year I am confidant that I will have good results with Vesrah Suzuki in the Daytona Sportbike class. I can’t wait to ride the all new 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 after seeing the bike and what it was capable of doing in only minimal laps at the Daytona tire test. I’m thankful to have a top-notch crew of guys working with me this year including my returning Crew Chief from the last few seasons Thom Godward. It is going to be nice having the support of a team instead of being on my own so that I can focus on my riding. I am also looking forward to returning to the Daytona Sportbike class as I had a lot of good results in 2009 and feel that I have some unfinished business.” Corey Alexander Vesrah Suzuki #5 “I’m really excited for the 2011 season and I couldn’t be happier with the amazing opportunity to ride for Vesrah Suzuki. The guys at Vesrah Suzuki have proved themselves to be a serious contender in the Daytona Sportbike Championship on the GSX-R600. Also, I’ve paired up with Barry McMahon who is a phenomenal Crew Chief with many championships under his belt with some big names in road racing. Last season I was only able to compete in the last three events and ended up with some good results that I hope to build upon. All in all I know I’ve got a great team behind me with a great bike and a great Crew Chief. I have all of the tools I need to win and so now it’s up to me to do so! Thank you to my personal sponsors Hudson Valley Motorcycles, Arai Helmets and Uncle Richie.”
