Jacobsen’s New Ride Portland, Oregon (June 13, 2008) — In cooperation with Celtic Racing to expand the opportunities for PJ Jacobsen, Veloce Racing will headline Jacobsen’s USGPRU’s 125 National Championship effort. Celtic Racing’s owner Barry Gilsenan has agreed to “loan” Jacobsen for the remainder of the season. Veloce Racing’s senior technician, Michael Ost and team manager Spiros Gabrilis will be responsible for the preparation of PJ’s bikes. The balance of the team will continue to support Nobi Iso, PJ’s teammate, in his effort to retain his #1 plate Veloce Racing is a Portland, Oregon-based road race team competing in the 125 and 250GP categories for over a decade. The team is one of the original competitors of the USGPRU national race series and its principal rider Nobi Iso is the 2007 USGPRU 125 National Champion. “Having PJ Jacobsen on our team, even on this temporary basis, is indeed a great pleasure. We’ve watched PJ’s meteoric rise in racing and we’ve enjoyed the elevated level of competition that he has brought to the tough USGPRU series. We’re excited by this opportunity to work with him and we think that it will be a great fit for PJ and our team. PJ and Nobi are still competitors, albeit in much closer quarters. We extend our thanks to Barry Gilsenan, team owner of Celtic Racing, for entrusting us with his rider and we promise to take exceptionally good care of the wunderkind!” “Nobi Iso (Veloce teammate) and I have been aggressive on track, exchanging leads and wins for the past couple of years. I have been impressed with his machines and we have developed a nice friendship. This opportunity is great for me and I look forward to the celebration of victories to come,” adds Jacobsen. Jacobsen is already on the West Coast preparing for round four of the USGPRU (West) Series, held this weekend June 14-15 at Portland International Raceway. Determined for another win under the Veloce Racing team, Jacobsen will dice it up with West Coast riders.
