As a tribute to former Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb Champion and former Roadracing World Young Gun Carlin Dunne (R.I.P.), we’re sharing videos filmed and posted by Dunne in his last days on the mountain.

Dunne, a four-time race winner and former course record holder at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, was killed when he crashed his Ducati Streetfighter V4 prototype near the finish line on June 30 during the 97th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. He was 36.

The Pikes Peak International Climb first started in 1916. It sees competitors on two and four wheels race against a clock on a closed-off section of public road that is 12.41 miles long and includes 156 turns. The course ends at the mountain’s 14,115-foot summit.

For additional information about the event, go to www.ppihc.org.

This final video was posted to Ducati’s YouTube channel. A GoFundMe campaign has been established by the organizers of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb to help Dunne’s mother with his final expenses. Go to the GoFundMe campaign here: https://www.gofundme.com/carlin-dunne-932
