Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) Showcases Complete Transformation Former Moroso Motosports Park transformation includes new management, programs and state-of-the-art, multi-track venues JUPITER, Fla. (February 05, 2009) The new owners of the former Moroso Motorsports Park, now Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR), have a blueprint for creating one of the world’s most innovative racing and entertainment venues. PBIR is now owned and operated by a team of car enthusiasts, professional racers and some of the industry’s most recognized names, including PBIR president Ron Dixon, one of racing’s most respected professionals and father of current Indy 500 winner Scott Dixon, as well as club pro Shane Lewis, who has won multiple races in Grand-Am, IMSA, SCCA Pro Racing and has podium finishes, class victories and overall wins throughout the world The newly re-branded and re-designed state-of-the-art venue is rapidly becoming one of the most popular raceways in the country, for racers and spectators alike. As a leader in its operating form and function, PBIR seeks to provide its drivers with a higher level of challenge, excellence and opportunity. PBIR boasts three completely refurbished, exceptionally designed tracks, including a high-performance Road Course, an all-concrete Drag Strip and a Kart Center/Track. “We are truly proud of the transformation that has taken place at the new Palm Beach International Raceway,” said Ron Dixon, PBIR track president. “There are simply no other tracks in the U.S. with our combination of venues, quality, access to professionals, and importantly, year-round racing weather. We have something truly special, and look forward to sharing it with racing professionals, racing enthusiasts, and newcomers to this exciting world.” The technologically superior two-mile Road Course features some of the fastest and most challenging corners and straight-aways offered by any track in North America. PBIR is currently sanctioned by the Indy Racing League (IRL) as a test facility, the fastest series in the country, and pending certification by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body for many major racing events. PBIR is home to some of the world’s fastest cars and anticipates venues such as the coveted Firestone Indy Lights Testing With A Difference coming in February 2009. The PBIR Drag Strip is one of the most advanced in the country. Designed by renowned National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) track engineer, Wayne McMurty, the smooth, all-concrete ¼ mile drag strip is entirely built to NHRA specifications and hosts various national, regional and local events including the NHRA Citrus Nationals, Super Chevy Show, and Ford Power Fest. The Kart Course is an 11-turn 7/10-mile sanctioned World Karting Association (WKA) Master Track that offers the versatility and flexibility needed for pros and amateurs alike. The track is used for various forms of karting from amateur local series to national events. The world-class racing facility is also home to the Palm Beach Driving Club, a newly-founded club which affords its members exclusive and immediate use of the Road Course, the full-service Club Concierge, and Club Professionals with years of racing experience. The Palm Beach Driving Club is a true opportunity to share the asphalt with champions. “The ability to drive our high performance vehicles on this caliber of track is nothing short of surreal,” adds Gil Dezer, nationally renowned developer, partner in Palm Beach International Raceway and car enthusiast. “I’ve had the opportunity to participate in races and road rallies across the globe, but nothing compares to the experience of racing on the same asphalt as the world’s best drivers. I now have the opportunity to truly enjoy my cars.” The South Florida weather will also give way for another major element of racing year-round track testing. The facility will allow professional race teams, original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM) and aftermarket companies the opportunity to have direct access to the road course, skid pad, wet track and drag race testing without curfew limits on dynamometer operations. “The more my partners and I look at PBIR, the more we recognize that we have an opportunity to be part of something truly special in this business,” concludes Dixon. “We’re delighted with the progress of our track, and look forward to continuing to introduce new venues, amenities and events.” PBIR is located at 17047 Beeline Highway in Jupiter, Fla.
