Team SGA/YCRS(Yamaha Champions Rider School) will field two new additions to their AMA Pro Road Racing effort this coming weekend at the Triumph Big Kahuna National held at NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans. Making his debut in the AMA Daytona Sportbike class will be former WERA West and AFM 600 champion Garrett Willis, from Loomis, California, riding the #80 SGA/YCRS Yamaha R6. With an outstanding podium performance in the AMA Supersport race at Laguna Seca last July, Willis will look to take his career to the next level in Daytona Sportbike. The talent-stacked AMA Supersport class will get a new addition as well with the arrival of 16-year-old Mario Alvarez II, from Tacoma, Washington. Alvarez, a student of the YCRS, has a strong pedigree of racing with Mini-Moto, Flat track, as well as the USGPRU series aboard a 125GP bike. Charlie Grannon-Team Owner SGA/YCRS: “It’s a great pleasure to field two such promising racers as Garrett and Mario in their perspective racing debuts this coming weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park! I have had the honor to watch firsthand as they have honed their skills at the YCRS in preparation for this event and have a great deal of confidence that they will showcase well in both classes. Both Garrett and Mario are fine attributes to the AMA Supersport and Daytona Sportbike classes on and off the racetrack.” Garrett Willis #80 Rider- Team SGA/YCRS Daytona Sportbike: ” A new bike, a new track, and stepping into DSB! It’s gonna be a tough weekend for sure, but I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to ride the SGA/YCRS R6. It’s gonna be good!” Team SGA/YCRS would also like to thank Graves Motorsports, Sharkskinz, as well as Danny Anderson for their important roles behind the success of Team SGA/YCRS.
