Sunoco Becomes Spec Fuel For British Superbike Series

Sunoco Race Fuels win contract to provide fuel to BSB and become British 125GP Championship title sponsor Sunoco race fuels have been appointed by British Superbike Championship (BSB) rights holders MSVR to supply the fuel for the most prestigious domestic motorcycle series for the next five years. Sunoco race fuels have also become the title sponsor of the British 125GP Championship, where some of the country’s youngest up and coming riders are discovered. For decades Sunoco fuels have been associated with racing excellence as the largest manufacturer and refiner of racing fuels in the world and have a 40-year track record of winning performances. In addition to BSB, Sunoco race fuels are also the choice in the UK for the British F3 & GT Championships, British Rally Championship, Britcar and many other national car racing series. In the USA Sunoco powers AMA Pro Racing, NASCAR, IndyCar and GrandAm Series. Anglo American Oil Company (AAOC) is the European and Middle East distributor for Sunoco race fuel and will be handling all distribution and logistics. Sunoco are thrilled to be expanding into the UK motorcycle market. We were appointed the official fuel of AMA Pro Road Racing in 2008 and it has proven to be a great partnership for Sunoco Race Fuels and motorcycle racing across the USA.” Anders Hildebrand, Managing director of AAOC added: “We’re very excited about being given the opportunity to work with BSB as their official fuel supplier. Sunoco has a great relationship with AMA in the states and we will be pulling out all the stops to make this opportunity a success. We are passionate about motorsport and are looking forward to the opportunity to expand into the adrenalin fueled world of motorcycle racing.” BSB Series Director Stuart Higgs concluded: “Sunoco products are highly regarded in many other motorsport disciplines. I’m delighted that BSB will be the first major motorcycle racing championship outside of the USA to exclusively use Sunoco race fuels.” Sunoco will supply three types of race fuel to meet the different demands and characteristics of all the British and National Championships. The MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship is contested at 12 rounds across the UK with over 300 riders competing in the different championships. BSB is watched by 8 million TV viewers, amassing over 13 million viewer hours on British Eurosport and free to air on ITV. 2010 saw over 350 hours broadcast with 65 hours live trackside from the twelve rounds. On site attendance has also grown year on year reaching 380,000 in 2010. Anglo American Oil Company Ltd (AAOIL) is the European and Middle East distributor of Sunoco race fuels, Joe Gibbs Driven racing oils, PJ1 Track Bites and their own brand ‘R’ racing fuels and oils which is manufactured and produced by the company. AAOIL also promote and run the Sunoco Rolex 24 at Daytona Challenge. With Sunoco racing fuels AAOIL is the official fuel supplier to the British F3 Series, British GT Championship, Radical UK Cup, MSV F3 Cup, Mini Challenge, Legends, Britcar, GT Cup Masters, HSCC, Group C racing, Intersteps, Production Touring Car Trophy and the British Rally Championship.
