The decision not to race was taken by Technical and Managing Director Harald Bartol on the grounds of safety following an engine problem in yesterday’s final qualifying session. On his final fast lap West almost crashed at turn two. In the circumstances KTM’s first priority is rider safety. The Qatar Grand Prix is the third and final race of three consecutive flyaway GPs with the KTM returning next week to its Austrian headquarters.
